CrossRhodes:

They keep talking about lack of gas...

The gas in south east and south south is it not the largest in Africa? Is it not enough to tackle the issue of gas that they flare everyday?

Abi electricity generation is rocket science?

The power sector owes the gas companies trillions of naira

Gas companies are tired of selling gas on credit

The refusal of government to let the power sector pay a cost reflective tarrif ie charge everyone 184 naira per kWh or more , is what is causing the current issue.

more lies. can that money not come from the trillions that the governments are owing for power consumed?

Government owes the discos about 100 billion naira .

So won't be sufficient.

Cost reflective tarrif is the answer.

2. how did the government arrive at its N3.2tr subsidy with all the tariff increases over the years?

3. what has been the quality of supply with all previous tariff increases?

4. if things cost money, what value have the electricity companies given to Nigerian customers for the bills they have been paying?

Go and meet your friend google for the answers to your question.

A crucial aspect of the article is the cost reflective tarrif value. It's 184 naira. Most of us pay 70 naira or less except band A...which is around 20% of consumers.

And we expect there to be light all day.

Electricity costs money. Maybe if the power thieves pay off their debts it might help.

It is quite unfortunately unfortunate that Ghana and Niger Republic have uninterrupted power supply but the citizens of this country have to suffer for whatever should be their right.
