I have always said that the biggest problem in Nigeria is we have at least 80% of so called educated people who are ignorant and to a large extent illiterate.

Foreign reserve is what this thread is about as you are bringing excess crude account.for your information, obj left $22b as excess crude and about $70b as foreign reserve.how foreign reserve fell from $70b to $28b in a space of 8years is what i commented on.On this issue of excess crude accounts being depleted by Amaechi and his then progressive governors as you claimed,it wasn't true.APC became a party in 2013 and that was when Amaechi joined the party. As at 2013 excess crude accounts was already depleted. The annoyance of the governors across party lines then was that the federal government was withdrawing the money without the knowledge of the states which was true.

The administration of Pmb grew the foreign reserve to $48b around early 2020 before covid 19.the exchange rate was around #300 which around 30% more than what he met it, considering the foreign reserve they met,#300 was a very fair achievement by the then PMB.It was the uncontrolled crude oil theft(I believe state sponsored) from ending of 2021 and the
decision by Pmb cabal to fight anything Tinubu and Osibanjo that messed up the economy of this country from 2022-2023, and the effect is still felt today.

Writing long senseless notes without making any meaningful point is of no use. Excess Crude Account is in dollars and part of foreign reserve. Progressive Governors took Jonathan to court to share the money hence it was depleted.

Tinubu has not spent 8years for us to objectively judge him.it was GEJ that messed our foreign reserve.it was almost $70b when when obj left, and $28b when GEJ left office.

I thought Yar''Adua was there for 3 years with high oil revenue before Jonathan took over for 5 years with falling oil revenue, leading to pressure from the states that are joint owners of the federation account to draw down the ECA and stop accruing money into the reserves, in addition to the infrastructure projects Obasanjo failed to do in the railways sector notably

FG, States, LGs Share N568.4 Billion for Oct
15 NOVEMBER 2013

Also, $1billion was proposed for distribution to complement shortfall in expected revenue." The $1billion is a compromise by the FG over its words in September not to augment shortfalls anymore.

Responding to the presentation, the chairman of the States Commissioners of Finance and Ebonyi State Commissioner of Finance, Mr Timothy Odaah, lamented that the statutory allocation was getting smaller and smaller. "It appears this is the worst in terms of returns. This is the least in allocations as far as this year is concerned. We are mourning the dearth of funds and this is a wakeup call for states and local governments to buoy up their internally generated revenue."

While appreciating the "magnanimity" of President Goodluck Jonathan to approve the $1billion from the excess crude account and to be shared among the federal, state and local governments, Odaah expressed disappointment with the returns made by the NNPC.

He said that the states had requested for $2bn to complement for the shortfall in revenue but got only $1billion. In September, Odaah and fellow commissioners had walked out of the Accountant General of the Federation (AGF) when the federal government said that the framework of the 2013 budget was no longer realistic and it won't augment shortfall in revenue. Odaah raised issues with the statutory allocations of previous months.

Because APC Governors led by Amaechi wanted it shared against all pleas by Dr Ngozi Okonjo Iweala. Blame the progressive Governors, not Jonathan. Our Excess Crude Account was jointly opened by States and the Federal Government.

As you are blaming the Govs ,you should also blame the weak president more.
Govs also put pressure on OBJ, which he vehemently rejected, but when the 2 weak presidents came in succession. His foot soldiers butchered the treasury with their two eye wide open.

How is an uneducated population equal to richly abundant human resource

Nigeria now has about 20 million out-of-school children, according to the latest global data on out-of-school children by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).

UNESCO, which says a new and improved methodology was used to arrive at the latest figures, said there are “244 million children and youth between the ages of 6 and 18 worldwide (who) are still out of school.”

According to the statistics, India, Nigeria and Pakistan have the highest figures for out-of-school children globally.

I agree with every line in your submission except the last sentence which is fallacy. Tinubu Shot everyone + Himself on the foot by Implementing financial policies without Economic team, no substantial CBN gov., No Cabinet etc., He was obviously carried away by his "Election Victory". Without settling Down to study the situation he took the advice of the World bank. No policies statement or Plan to Cushion the effect of His Wrong Decision. Very Wrong Move from the state. I pity Cardoso.

Whether the world like it or not, China is becoming , infact currently the richest and surest country in the world.

You can argue with your boxers. . Or hug transformer.

As for Nigerians, if dollars goes up, many will start criticizing the govt, and if govt tries to bring it down, you start shouting that they are depleting external reserves or borrowing to defend. .

Yet, you come online again to say prices of goods have gone high, and you can't buy bread.

We are terrible people.
