socialmediaman:This was my thought at the beginning of this issue. Most politicians love Tinubu, not because of his prowess in governance, but he will always come through for them. Why do you think Bello was this confident after stealing. We never had it like this during OBJ or GEJ🤦♂️ |
Re: Yahaya Bello: EFCC Withdraws Alleged Fraud Case At Appeal Court by BERNIMOORE: 9:13am On Apr 25 |
Withdrawing a the appeal will allow Bellos Arrest at his court appearance next week, if he evades the court next week the judge may declared him to be arrested and that overtakes the kogi high court earlier order.... |

Pipefitter: No, that’s not it. A case had been already filed at the federal high court, Abuja. That’s the main case. The one withdrawn has to do with the legality or not of his arrest. |

DMerciful: That’s exactly the way it is. You got it correctly. I wonder why youths on this forum never read properly and never follow up correctly with events. 1 Like |

Pipefitter: What that simply means is that, they have 1 case with 2 different courts. And one had delivered the judgement to their satisfactions. |

Many Nigerians in nairaland are actually illiterates. Immediately they saw withdrawal, they started saying nonsense. Have you all forgotten that the case is in two courts? The president also wants bello to be prosecuted. Bello would definitely end up in court facing the music. It's just a matter of time 1 Like 1 Share |

Re: Yahaya Bello: EFCC Withdraws Alleged Fraud Case At Appeal Court by barnawilla: 11:50am On Apr 25 |
The reason for that withdrawal of the appeal as seen above is that, by the judgement of the court delivered on the 17th April, 2024, the interim order of the court that stopped EFCC from arresting and prosecuting Yahaya Bello pending the hearing and determination of the substantive case before the court has elapsed and as such, the Appeal filed by the EFCC against that order that stopped the EFCC from arresting and prosecuting Yahaya Bello, which the EFCC withdrew today, has become incompetent, academic exercise and null. So, if the EFCC is not happy about the judgement delivered on the 17th April, 2024, it's to appeal against that judgement of the 17th April, 2024. Though, the judgement is not against EFCC so, as it stands now, there is no need for the EFCC to appeal against the judgement of 17th April, 2024, now as it is, the EFCC haven withdrawn the interlocutory appeal it filed, the EFCC is to now proceed with the arrest and prosecution of the former governor cos there is nowhere in the Kogi State's high court's judgment that bars the EFCC from arresting and prosecuting the former governor. |

EFCC should withdraw any case against Yahaya Bello. Afterall, he is an APC member and a Buhari loyalist. He was not the one that stole the most in that era. Let selective Justice continue in Nigeria so that a few will steal the future of the silent majority that are just there looking like Lucozade. |
Re: Yahaya Bello: EFCC Withdraws Alleged Fraud Case At Appeal Court by VerifyGeneral: 10:13pm On Apr 25 |
I think wat the post was saying is that the commission is withdrawing the case from the appeal court and letting kogi high court decide preside over it. On the basis of jurisdiction |
