Omo this is a very brutal topic. For once i'm proud to say i am a nairalander. This is quite inquisitive, well to answer your question, we all know the sun is made up of fusions of Helium and Hydrogen gases, while it is stagnant and the solar system rotates and revolves around the sun, the light from the sun is just focused on our own solar system. While the outer space or spaces beyond our universe which stretches to billions of miles remains dark.
Thanks sir

Light is not a mistake, light is heat of high temprature, while darkness is heat of low temprature. Remember darkness is also light. If the light in you is darkness your eyes will be dead.

The space is very BIG, and the sun is just like lighting up a candle stick in the middle of a big football stadium at night. You know what the outcome will be....

The sun's light doesn't fill the entire space for a few reasons:

1. *Distance*: The sun is about 93 million miles (150 million kilometers) away from Earth. Its light spreads out in all directions, but it becomes weaker and more dispersed as it travels farther into space.
2. *Interstellar medium*: Space is filled with gas and dust, which absorb and scatter light, making it difficult for it to travel long distances.
3. *Expansion of the universe*: The universe is expanding, which means that galaxies and stars are moving away from each other. This expansion stretches out the light, making it even weaker.
4. *Background radiation*: The cosmic microwave background radiation (CMB) is the leftover radiation from the Big Bang. It's a faint glow that fills the universe, but it's not bright enough to illuminate the vast distances between stars and galaxies.

Despite the sun's light being present in space, the darkness prevails due to the vastness of the universe and the limitations of light travel. However, with the aid of telescopes and spacecraft, we can detect and study the faint light from distant stars, galaxies, and other celestial objects, revealing the wonders of the cosmos.

Our solar system is a vacuum made of huge light years of dark matter strewn within the cosmos. We just a tiny speck of a Milky Way teeming with other stars (suns) in a huge Galaxy.

Our sun is bright but its intensity is not enough to transmit heat and light beyond planet Mars. Planets beyond Mars are dark, cold and without the ability to support life. Earth is the only planet in the life-supporting region (Goldilock zone)

The question shouldn't be why space is dark but why earth is so bright despite the sun being millions of miles away.

Yes, intelligent question!

And how come it only takes 8 minutes for the photon of light to reach the earth when the speed of light is just 3 x 10^8m/s.
How come the object is visible to our eyes at such distance(Don't say because it's a very enormous object). How come the light got to earth when the intensity of the sun is about 10,000 deg Celsius?

This is an interesting discussion. The dark mode you're noticing is due to the shape of the Earth. Try reading more on the north pole and Antarctica. Another weird reality is that we(Humans) are not the only smart inhabitants roaming the Cosmos..........

When you’re driving at night and you shine your headlights, only the pathway of the rays is lighted
The same way with space and stars (suns)

This is not a good example because your head light cross-section is narrow-focused and sunlight cross-section is 3D-evenly focus/spread aka goes everywhere with equal source intensity.

The emboldened is inaccurate. The sun is NOT the only star in our galaxy let alone the only star in the universe.

Yes. In reality, you do not 'see' light. What you see is particles or objects that are reflected by light.

Space131:
The earth’s atmosphere/stratosphere contains particles which helps sun rays reflect.

Secondly the Suns trajectory is in alignment with the earth🌍

Like you said vastness of space, The sun is big but it only occupies a tiny little point in the vastness of space so it rays can only cover its surroundings and trajectories.

I drop my pen grin
I even forgot my name is space grin

But the sun is a sphere. Meaning it projects light in 3D. The sun is not like car's headlight.

Mj4199:
In the vast expanse of space, where darkness seems to dominate, the presence of sunlight might seem contradictory. How can there be sunlight in space, yet it appears so dark? This apparent paradox arises from the unique characteristics of space and the way light interacts with it.

Firstly, let’s delve into why space appears dark. Unlike Earth’s atmosphere, which scatters sunlight in all directions, space is mostly empty. There are very few particles—atoms, molecules, or dust—in the vast void between celestial bodies. As a result, there are minimal obstacles for light to scatter off, leading to the perception of darkness.

However, despite the darkness of space, the Sun remains a prominent source of light. The Sun emits an immense amount of energy in the form of electromagnetic radiation, including visible light. As this light travels through the vacuum of space, it encounters little resistance and continues to propagate until it encounters an object.

One might wonder then, why doesn’t the light from the Sun illuminate all of space, eliminating the darkness? The answer lies in the vast distances between celestial bodies. Space is incomprehensibly vast, with light taking significant time to travel from one point to another. While sunlight does spread throughout space, its intensity diminishes with distance according to the inverse square law. As a result, by the time sunlight reaches our eyes—or the sensors of telescopes—the intensity is greatly reduced, contributing to the perception of darkness.

Furthermore, space is not completely devoid of matter. Though sparse, there are interstellar clouds, asteroids, comets, and other celestial objects scattered throughout the cosmos. These objects can absorb or scatter light, further contributing to the darkness of space by obstructing the path of sunlight.

Another factor to consider is the human perception of darkness. Our eyes adapt to the environment we are in, and in the absence of surrounding light sources, the contrast between the darkness of space and the brightness of celestial objects like stars and planets becomes more pronounced. Thus, even though there is sunlight in space, the overall perception remains one of darkness due to the vast distances, sparse matter, and human visual adaptation.

In conclusion, the apparent paradox of sunlight coexisting with darkness in space can be attributed to several factors, including the vast distances between celestial bodies, the sparse distribution of matter, and human perception. While sunlight does permeate space, its intensity diminishes over distance, and the absence of scattering particles leads to the perception of darkness. Understanding these dynamics enriches our appreciation of the cosmos and the interplay between light and darkness in the universe.

That's because the sun is just above us and under the firmament (glass ceiling). Also, there is no space - it's actually water(s) above the firmament.

Nonsense, illogical, fallacy, untrue. There are billions of stars in space, and we do see millions of stars from our position, on a clear night sky.

The space is infinitely large. The sun's ray is not even enough to penetrate all areas of space.
