This heading is deceptive, to say the least. This 25/35% increment was approved in January 2023. But the FG only started paying last month (March salary) and promised to pay the arrears for two months (ie for Jan and Feb 2023).
This is quite different from the expected increment in the minimum wage of 2024.

MEGA4BILLION:
For the people clapping hands, 35% increase on 33,000 current minimum wage is 11,550 which translates to 44,550 new minimum wage.

This is more than wickedness
Salary increment bro! not minimum wage.

How does this increase compensate for the increase in cost of living? Does it make any sense that inflation is now 33.20% yet you increase salary by 25%, with additional increase in electricity tarrif, fuel scarcity, customs duty increase and so on?

As usual, Tinubu's boys will come here to celebrate this increase that will have no positive impact on the average Nigerian.

Everything about this government is just propaganda and celebrating lies and deceit in the name of growth but the plan is to continue to impoverish Nigerians while they smile home with their massive loot.
Please sharap, Ungrateful Thing.

Maybe you think only your salary would go up while other living expenses cost remains stagnant

Everyone that can will also jack up cost of living too. Your landlord will increase your rent to 300k per month. Traders will increase their prices and inflation will go through the roof.
So now that his salary has not been increased to 650k,has the prices of those things you mentioned not increased?

So you rather prefer his salary remain stagnant while the cost of living increases by over 300% as it's currently?

Or what's exactly your point?

dey play.market women are re-strategizing prices of their goods in the market. They are aware of the increment and will do anything to siphon the money from an average civil servant when they show up in the market .so dont start jumping up in jubilation .

That's what happen in office after working hours, I was deployed on night duty in my office, omo! I say make i do visiting round of the offices, when I came to one of the assistant director office door, I saw a black cat Infront of the door then I tried to scare the cat away so I can continue my journey, omo! I felt my head bigger than my body, my eyes was able to spot the cat laughing at me, hmmm the way I vanished like sonic. The next morning the AD was first to enter his office and he gave me astain warning look . he didn't utter a word. Quickly I just do my handing over, through out that week I was battled with mysterious fever

25% increase means
Assuming s omeone salary was 50k this means
25/100 ×50000 = 12,500
It is only 12,500 that is added to the persons salary. Implications is that instead of collecting the 50k he/she will be collecting 50,000 + 12,500 =62k.
Isn't this funny considering the current hike in price of commodity every where ..
