For those of you saying pedestrian bridge, there's no pedestrian bridge on that axis. All you can see around that iganmu/Apapa is rail track, fly over, national Art theatre and coastain round about.

Rip to the little girl.

if you are fit/healthy and by yourself, then by all means cross the motorway while dodging passing cars/trucks, but if you are with kids or an older person, abeg just use the pedestrian bridges....they are there for a damn reason and it will just take 5 more mins of your time.
It is more sensible to use the pedestrian bridge always. Crossing the road whether fit or not disrupt the flow of traffic atimes and you can be a victim of one way drivers too. These are things that make a society been called civilised.

You people just lack sense, otherwise why would a five year old kid cross an expressway?

Did she have the physical capacity to use the pedestrian bridge, even if she knew what it was for?

What a Dumbass

On my way from Oshodi last night under the bridge in front of LAWMA heading to Apapa at about 10:15 pm I started seeing red coal tar and i slowed down only to see fresh human parts littered across the road obviously a case of hit and run.
I was terrified to my bones.

Seeing this news I was already thinking it was it.
God save us

Did you bother to confirm if there was a pedestrian bridge available in this scenario?

You lack two things.. the second is empathy.

You should know what the first one is.

You seem to know exactly where the accident took place ... can you tell us how close it was to a pedestrian bridge?

@ topic .... seems the .other was careless .... guess she judged for herself and not her daughter whose hand she should have been holding. I'm almost sure she would be explaining what she told the daughter to do. For one to lose a child is traumatic .... but to lose a child in such a gruesome way ... and be the one responsible ? ... she will be haunted for life.

Re: 5-Year-Old Girl Crushed To Death Crossing Expressway In Lagos by kesmiraAutos: 7:30am On May 13
Neglecting the law is not an excuse. The government needs to ensure strict compliance to ensure that citizens utilize pedestrian bridges when crossing. May God console her family.

Nigeria is a wicked country. Some of these drivers intentionally hit the victims because they know it's illegal to cross the expressway and they won't be arrested. The world is full of evil jare
Re: 5-Year-Old Girl Crushed To Death Crossing Expressway In Lagos by PHAYOL81: 8:39am On May 13
It's only in Nigeria citizens complain about inadequate public infrastructure whilst having problems maintaining or using the ones already provided. And to think of it, who in his/er sanity takes a boy/girl child on such dangerous mission of crossing a busy highway? The said parent/adult should be subjected to compulsory psychiatric evaluation. She can't be alright!
Re: 5-Year-Old Girl Crushed To Death Crossing Expressway In Lagos by NoToPile: 8:58am On May 13
Chai and there's no pedestrian bridge there.

Crossing at that Iganmu underbridge down to costain roundabout one needs extra patience and crossing skill, the way those vehicles speed at that axis is something else.

What a trauma for the mum, she will never forgive herself.
