I can only answer That question for a high school kid or a jambyte . If you’re above those levels and you still ask those questions you need to look inwards.

if I get you correctly, you are actually saying that you cant give what you dont have. are you saying that the government wanting to spend trillions on a road, that it will only explain to school kids why it wants to spend such an amount to build a road where other roads also exist? are you saying that if your workman proposes to spend your money on providing a service for you, that he wont explain to you because you are not a jambyte?

What a Wawu. While some are still begging FG for a sea port even though they have no sea.

Cross River is following the lead of Lekki deep sea port in Lagos. Both ports soon to be connected by the coastal highway.

Gbam!

While your mates are gathering money and positioning themselves to invest in real estate, hospitality and tourism businesses, shipping and transport related business, etc, along that Lagos - Calabar coastal road dey there dey ask plenty questions you hear?

CheapHomes1:

half of what you wrote was on what the project is and what it entails which does not in any way answer the questions I asked which are "what is the benefit of the lagos-calabar coastal highway to nigeria? how is the road futuristic and innovative?"

you said that the coast highway will "stimulate economic growth, facilitate trade, and enhance regional integration by improving connectivity and reducing travel times between key economic zones."

can you pls explain how the coastal highway will accomplish this? are these activities not presently happening? are there no roads that presently link or provide connectivity? pls what is the state of those roads?

you also said that the road will have "far-reaching socio-economic benefits, including the creation of employment opportunities, the promotion of tourism, and the enhancement of accessibility to essential services for communities along the route."

this is quite ambiguous. can you pls break it down? what are those employment opportunities the road? how will the road promote tourism? are you saying that without this road, tourism will not be promoted? what are the essential services that this road will provide access to?

when you say "The Lagos-Calabar coastal road project holds the potential for unlocking the hidden productivity of the country’s coastal regions and hinterlands. Improved transportation infrastructure reduces travel times, lowers transportation costs, and enhances market access for businesses of all sizes. This, in turn, spurs investment, stimulates trade, and catalyzes economic diversification", you are just repeating the things you said earlier but in different words.

what are the hidden productivity of the country's coastal regions and hinterlands and help tie them to this road lets see how the road will unlock them.

how will the road achieve this...."Moreover, by integrating remote communities into national and regional supply chains, the Lagos-Calabar coastal road bridges the rural-urban divide, fostering inclusive development and reducing income disparities."

are there no existing roads between Lagos and Calabar that can achieve the goal you stated above?

how will the road foster "inclusive development and reduce income disparities"?

If you need someone to explain the benefits to you, then it's too late.
It will just go over your head, you will never comprehend it. No need to waste time and effort.
No one has ever explained how it will be beneficial
All you Apc goons keep saying is that the road will improve this n that but none of you have been able to explain in details n practical terms how the road will benefit Nigerians differently from the roads we have already….

It will open up the creeks of niger delta for economic development.
New cities like Ibeju-Lekki, Bonny Island, Brass will spring up.
Even private varsities will be sited there.
Also be in the know that foreigners prefer doing business and living in coastal cities.
Also, access to sea guarantees higher safety in times of crisis than being stranded in the hinterland.
You are the opposite of your moniker,
The question is on the coastal road n not coastal city
Or you don’t know there’s a difference? Does coastal road necessarily mean access to sea? Have Nigerians n ppl leaving in Nigeria not been having access to the sea? Why did the British not build a coastal road in Nigeria when the ruled , since according to you foreigners cannot do without it….
You guys are just a confused lot….

Tinubu now wants to build a Road Linking Lagos to Calabar

He is now waging war against it

Why didn’t he Stop the 2nd Niger Bridge from being built since there was already a first Niger Bridge?

Cross River State government, has secured a $3.5 billion funding from the Pan-African multilateral financial institution, African Export-importbank (Afreximbank), for some of its key infrastructure projects in the state.

The state governor, Senator Bassey Otu, who was in Egypt, last week for a workshop, also visited the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) in Cairo to explore partnership in key infrastructure projects to be undertaken in the state.

The workshops held during the visit culminated in the signing of a project preparation facility for the development of a deep seaport estimated to cost $3.5 billion.

Securing the funding at a workshop attended by the governor as well as some of the key members of his government at the bank’s headquarters in Cairo, the Egyptian capital, Otu noted that ”This is a world-class partnership that will result in positioning Cross River State economically.”

Otu, who expressed excitement about the collaboration with Afreximbank, emphasized the importance of the projects in driving economic growth and development in the state, highlighting the potential for attracting foreign investment and stimulating economic growth.

At the visit to Afreximbank, Otu also had extensive Government-to-Business (G2B) meetings with tier 1 companies, including Orascom Construction, Elsewedy Electric, and Hassan Allam Holdings.

One of the highlights of Governor Otu’s engagement in Cairo was the signing of Project Preparation Facility Agreement and Financial Advisory Agreement with Afreximbank for two major projects in Cross River – the Bakassi Deep Seaport and 217km Superhighway integrated Project, as well as the Obudu Cattle Ranch and Mountain Resort project.

This is very good news.

My chief worry is if there is enough freight traffic to sustain it.

The Cross River state government should build a massive Export Processing Zone with the manufactured products exported through the zone.

An eco-system can be created around the seaport.
Succinctly stated.

It is labour intensive to build coastal roads by the Colonial masters.
Even the two major rail lines ran from the coast to the hinterlands.
British does what serves their interests( ship raw materials from the hinterlands to the coast for onward shipping to Europe.

Lagos built LDSP and is going ahead with the largest in Badagry, and Ondo, Akwa Ibom, Edo, and Cross River are going privately sourcing funds and building their own, but some people shout every day that the only reason why Lagos is ahead is because of deep seaport and the FG is denying them a deep seaport because of tribalism and marginalization and because they want them to overtake Lagos state.

1. You cannot have a deep seaport because you don't have any sea.

2. You have yet to seek approval from the FG to build a deep seaport, your leaders don't even talk about it.

Question, why is it so hard to do the same as other states are doing, like, draw up a plan, seek FG approval, and source funds?

Shebi you have billionaires and nearly all the imports from abroad end up in the SE, why are you not eager to build your seaport if that's truly the case.?

I just wonder.
