Hamas should never have invaded Israel like it did. Hamas never served the interest of Gazans. They served the interest of their paymasters, Iran, who want the total annihilation of Israel.

Hamas had the golden opportunity to transform Gaza's fortunes when Israel uprooted all its settlers from the principality. This is what the West Bank has been dying for. Yet, rather than focus on developing the place, preferred to fan the flames of war.

Israel too isn't guilt free. Because the right-wing Israeli governments did not care about welfare of the the Palestinians, they didn't seek the help of Gulf Arab states and others to make Hamas see reason by focus on developing Gaza rather than fruitless attacks on Israel
