Pot calling kettle black.
Am not a fan of Politics.
Not until the constitution is amended, Capital punishment for Embezzlement, this country will never get better.

All political parties are the same.
APC - PDP - LP - NNPP
It so painful seeing the youth fighting themselves because of politicians, they know how to divide us because we allow it.

These people never mean good for us.
No single sector is working.

It pains me so much that with all the wisdom baba has he failed to raise a prodigy or second in command who understands Nigeria problems very well. Take Russia for instance when Boris Yeltsin new his days were near he immediately hand-picked Valdimir Putin who he knows understands Russia problems. Nigeria was not even ripe for democracy aka do as you like in the first place. See where we are years later. As far as I am concerned, these are the wailings of a dying nation. We better face the realties of our poor decisions. I will stop here for now.

You and I know that Obj is a far greater, better and more accomplished leader and person than Tinubu can ever be. Tinubu himself is aware of this.

Let me take time out to respect the great Baba Iyabo for always speaking truth to power
The two policies were needed but as for the timing,it is subject to debate
I believe that the Nigerian currency is right now closer to its real value as against when it was being heavily subsidized while the petrol subsidy will probably be gone forever in the next few weeks
As for the Refineries, anyone I have always believed they are huge mass of metal scrap that should be sold off
The people in NNPCL know those Scrap metals can never work and if they have any honour they should resign while those that are ready to work can be sent on sabbatical to Dangote Refinery to know how a Refinery should operate
Indeed the people in NNPCL have clearly shown that you can't shame the shameless
Tufiakwa!!!!
u are one of the very very few sensible people on nairaland. The place is now full of idiots and wailing zombidients.

Divide this country now.

No need to divide, but whoever wants to leave can and must leave. The Igbos said they want to leave and no one is stopping them and as a matter of fact, the rest of Nigerians wants to see them leave. They have made this country to be a zoo with their innate criminal attitude and behavior. The sooner they leave the better it is for the rest of us.

Economy grew under him.

Even infrastructure sef, Nigeria's most busy highway,The Lagos Ibadan expressway that is currently being reconstructed was constructed by him in 76..

These current swines were abusing him when he said the refineries would not work because he knew exactly what he was saying..

Obasanjo now looks good compared the the corn muncher but essentially they have similarities only to different degrees , obj was not as heavily tribalistic as thiefunubu but the ppls politics is tribalism at its core

Bros you are on point, one of the greatest mistake we made was not allowing him to go for third term. Look at what he did, He Saved roughly $60 Billion, our debt was just about $500 Million.

He realized that NNPC and the refinery was a major reason why we spend a lot and inflation is high, he sold two of the refinery weeks to leaving office which Yaradua reversed.

If he had entered for third term he would have dealt with the northern oligarchy, mesmerized Boko Haram.

The man is smart

There is no Country that grew from the third world to the first world without stable, continuous and competent leadership.

None!

South Korea, Singapore, China... all had someone they point to as that person that set them on the right course.

Even the western countries, had centuries of competent and continuous monarchies.

Rwanda is growing because they have this.
Nigeria would have if we had it too.

Obasanjo's 3rd term would have been way better than the ineptitude and insanity that followed his rule.

He is the best President we have ever hard and I wonder how depressing it must be to see how all his hardwork has been frittered away.

Nigeria was on the rise during his rule...it is shameful really.

Baba is right, a president can't go after a policy like a tout shouting subsidy is gone during his inauguration without stepping foot in the office to do paper work and planning, i thought he made mobil what it is today. The ground has suddenly become rocky

As a former president and somebody with true development interests and wishes for Nigeria, you come to the front of the world and say "The refineries will not work" ?? Let us be plain Nigeria is 100thousand miles backwards because of our previous leaders who sold the country out for personal gains, in truth, they are the reason why we are purchasing PMS today at 1000/per litre because they favoured exportation and importation of our Gods given gift so that their Bottomless pockets can continuly be full. People like Alison Madueke and their PDP cohorts made sure Nigeria is backwards so that their theifiving pockets can be forward sad

One Nigeria isn't working, it's very obvious. The Igbos have always wanted to go, but their attempts have been met with strong resistance from the government.

What do you think led to the Nigerian civil war?

Nigeria is big enough to be divided into 5 countries that can thrive on their own.

What political metrics did you use to come this conclusion?

Obasanjo had used 11 years ruling this nation at 3 different terms, each term leaving this nation in the same or worse situation that he met it, except to enrich his own pockets.

Tinubu has used only a year. Then how come is he worse than Obasanjo?

If yaradua allowed the privatisations of obasanjo.things would have been better,Nigeria deserves the kind of leaders and suffering that they are going through because it is the same Nigerians that shouted themselves hoarse when obasanjo was selling off all those liability assets and pressurized yaradua to cancel all the policies of obasanjo.

Keep lying to yourself and your igbo folks. No government (Federal nor State) restricted you people to go. The Civil War was ill advised by your ego filled warlord that then abandoned the troops and ran away.
Tell your state government to start a referendum and if all of you agreed to go, then please do. The rest of us will roll out a red carpet for you.
