Of course it is foolishness. Where else do you hear of a god mudering his only son in cold blood to atone for a ludicrous sin that wasnt commited by him. Even greek mythology dint stoop that low in their wild imagery of their gods

GOD did not kill his son.He only allowed him to be killed by the jews for the salvation of mankind.There was an eclipse,earthquakes,opening of tombs of dead people,all this to show how sad God was when he lost his son temporarily to death. Jesus even told the soldiers that came to arrest him that he could ask for angelic protection and it would be granted him by God,but then our redemption would have been vandalized. Adam brought sin to the world.Adam was a perfect man,that was why it required the sacrifice of a perfect(sinless) man to redeem us.The bible even called Jesus the last Adam.Remember that the Israelites sacrificed animals to atone for their sins,Jesus was the sacrificial lamb.The lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world.By his death he created a direct link to God for us.He became our mediator,our high priest.We can access the heavenly holy of holies(the presence of God) without fear of judgement as long as we remain holy unto the lord.Remember, he did not remain dead,he rose again!HALLELUJAH!
