metroparrot: The League of Imams and Alfas in Ekiti has ordered Muslims in the state not to collect rams and other food items for Sallah celebration, if presented to them in any form by the state government.
The league reached the decision at a meeting held on Tuesday at Ansar-u-deen Society Central Mosque Odo – Otu, Ado Ekiti, where it reviewed the “deliberate marginalisation of Muslims in Ekiti State government political appointment.”
The Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs and National Council of Muslim Youth Organisation, Ekiti State, had respectively issued statements condemning Governor Ayodele Fayose for neglecting Muslims in appointments.
The All Progressives Congress in Ekiti in a statement by its Publicity Secretary, Taiwo Olatunbosun, had also described “Fayose’s treatment of Muslims in terms of appointment in the state” as “the worst since the state was created.”
The party claimed Ekiti muslims were not given up to one percent of the appointments made by the Fayose administration.
In a communique issued at the end of the meeting, the league said, “Based on the above, the League, Ekiti State Council hereby resolve that: No Muslim in the State should collect rams and other food items if presented to them in any form by the government.
The communique was signed by the state’s Assistant Secretary, League of Imams and Alfas, Alhaji Quadri Oguntuase; a Representative of Ansar-u-deen Missioner, Fatai Jimoh and Chief Imam, Ilogbo, Imam Abdul Rasak.

Jakaya: Governor Tanko Al Makura's Media Team Have Just Issued A Press Statement on The #GoToHell Saga:
PRESS STATEMENT
The Attention of Governor Umaru Tanko Al - Makura of Nasarawa State has been drawn to an online publication Title “Go To Hell!” Governor Al Makura Tells Family On Highway As His Goons Beat them To Pulp" alleging that his convoy assaulted a family on their way to Abuja.
There is no iota of truth in that publication but the misrepresentation of facts calculated to tarnish the image of his Excellency by mischief makers. For the avoidance of doubt and to set the records straight, on Thursday 10, September 2015 about 3.pm when the convoy of His Excellency was approaching Nasarawa Eggon Local Government a vehicle was right on the middle of the road and inspite of several efforts by the police outrider and the pilot to slow the car down, the vehicle remained right in the centre of the road refusing to make way for the convoy which nearly caused an accident.
The action of the vehicle gave room for suspicion considering the fact that it was at the same area in 2003 that the convoy of former governor of Benue state George Akume now a Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria was attacked.
A close look at the vehicle, the Escort commander noticed a women driving with a minor in the front seat and directed the convoy to track her with caution not to push her car by the shoulder.
This took up to 3-5 minutes before the Escort commander managed to halt her. She stopped abruptly on the road forcing the convoy to also stop and other road user causing heavy traffic along the high way.
As She came out, she began to rain abuses on the Police boasting that she is a lawyer and a daughter of a police Commissioner and has the right to drive the way she wants.
Noticing her unruly behavior, the Governor directed the Escort commander to invite the Police from the nearest police station to handle the matter to avoid further congestion and obstruction of traffic on the Highway while the convoy continued on its journey to Abuja.
It is the height of mischief and irresponsibility for anybody to insinuate that Governor Almakura made disparaging comments on the woman in question. Any body that knows Al - Makura will attest to the fact that, it is not in his character to use derogatory words on people let alone a woman, the fact remains that the governor did not engaged in any exchange of words with the woman.
We called on the press and the general public to disregard the misleading and wicked insinuation aimed at portraying the governor in bad light.
Ahmed Tukur Special Assistant ( Media & Publicity ) to Governor Umaru Tanko Al - Makura Ure nothing but a bunch of lairs.i think one thing should stick to your brain that you said the woman was driving with a minor in front of her vehicle and yet you guys didn't touch her yet her vehicle was damaged to that extent. I only have kind words to tell the adc to the gov. When they use you finish emh, and other pple get to that sit you will smell what you deserve and mind you just prepare to karma. For the gov. I have important things to do and will not attend to him until he declares his assets. |

Politics › Re: SSS Uncovers Stockpiles Of Arms, Ammunition In Akwa Ibom Govt House-PremiumTimes by 83lagosroad(m): 10:42pm On Sep 04, 2015 |
NgeneUkwenu: The State Security Service (SSS) on Thursday uncovered a “stockpiles of arms and ammunition” from the Akwa Ibom State Government House in Uyo, the state capital, during a surprise raid, top security sources have told PREMIUM TIMES. The operation, which was jointly carried out by operatives from the SSS headquarters in Abuja and a detachment from the Akwa Ibom State Command of the Service, were said to have stormed the Hilltop Mansion based on security reports that suggested arms and ammunition were stored in a room there. After ransacking the entire residence of the governor, which is yet to be occupied by the serving Governor, Udom Emmanuel, the operatives moved to guest houses and the presidential lodge, said to be currently in use by ex-Governor Godswill Akpabio. It was, however, in one of the guest houses within the expansive complex, the source said, that the stockpile of arms and ammunition were found locked up in a large room. Apart from the arms stockpile, the source also said the operatives uncovered a guest room filled with United States dollar notes. “It is true that our operatives carried out an operation in Akwa Ibom State Government House in Uyo yesterday,” the source said. “During the operation which lasted for over an hour, our operatives found stockpile of arms and ammunition locked up in one of the guest houses within the Government House complex. “We also found a room which has stacks of United States dollars, but since we had no order to take them away, our operatives left the room untouched.” One of our sources said the operatives initially wanted to evacuate the dollar notes but received instructions from their superiors in Abuja to let the notes be.
However, a staff of the Government House, who pleaded not to be named for security reasons, told PREMIUM TIMES that in the course of the operation, a lot of government property were damaged by the SSS operatives. He claimed the operatives did not ransack the official residence of the governor but confirmed they broke into all the guest houses within the Government House complex. The source also confirmed that Governor Emmanuel was yet to move into his official residence.
The SSS could not be immediately reached to officially comment on the operation. The agency does not have a known spokesperson that could be reached for comments. And it’s Director General, Lawal Daura, did not answer or return multiple calls to his telephone.
However, apparently jolted by the development, the raid has attracted harsh reactions from the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. An official of the SSS said PDP’s loud reaction “is to divert attention and downplay the findings of the Service”.
The Acting Chairman of the party, Uche Secondus, while hosting Bayelsa State governor, Seriake Dickson, in his office Friday, raised the alarm and described the invasion as a civilian coup d’état. Mr. Secondus said the action is part of the strategy of the ruling All Progressives Congress, and the Muhammadu Buhari-led government to forcefully take some states won by the opposition PDP. ”Let me alert this nation that there was a civilian coup d’état in Akwa Ibom State where the State Security Service, headed by Lawal Daura, invaded the Government House in Akwa Ibom, ransacked the entire Government House, looking for the governor (Udom Emmanuel), to kidnap,” Mr. Secondus said. “We want to alert this nation that this is part of the strategy of APC and its Federal Government to forcefully take Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Abia and Taraba States by force because they are not satisfied with the control of the Federal Government. “They still want to take over by force all the states controlled by PDP. “This nation belongs to all, to both PDP and APC, a situation where, consistently, the SSS has assaulted states controlled by PDP, the international community should be aware of what is going on. Is this democracy? Is this how PDP ruled in 16 years? “We want to advise and point out to the President that we will not tolerate this anti-democratic arrangement by APC and SSS because it will be a reincarnation of Rafindadi days when he was in charge of SSS. “This is exactly the format. Daura is a reincarnation of Rafindadi and Nigerians are not ready for what happened 30 years ago. This is a clear warning that they should desist from taking laws into their hands.”
On his part, the Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, called for the immediate sack of the Director General of the SSS, Lawal Daura, whom he accused for the invasion. Mr. Fayose said armed men from the Special Squad of the SSS invaded the Presidential Wing of the Government House, Uyo, in a commando style, ransacked it, intimidated and harassed the occupants, claiming that they were searching for bomb and documents. While wondering when Akwa Ibom State Government House turned into a bomb-making factory, Mr. Fayose said he was shocked that men of the SSS were overzealously looking for bomb in Akwa Ibom instead of the Boko Haram-ravaged North East Nigeria.
“From the barbaric act of the SSS yesterday and other actions of Security Service under Alhaji Lawal Daura in the last few weeks, one can conclude that Daura is taking Nigeria back to the 1984 era of General Mohammadu Buhari and this is unfortunate. “No doubt, the Director General (DG) SSS, Lawal Daura is acting out a sinister script of taking over Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) controlled States in the South-South and South East by whatever means,” Mr. Fayose said. “To say the least, the invasion of the Akwa Ibom State Government House on Thursday ordered by Daura, is a rape of democracy and invitation to chaos and anarchy. It is authoritarian, dictatorial and I condemn it strongly,”
“It is unfortunate that this is happening under President Buhari’s watch, and painful that Alhaji Lawal Daura is drawing Nigeria back to the Military era.
Mr. Fayose recalled the arrest of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC; Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, in Akwa Ibom, Austin Okojie, by men of the SSS in July, as a continued case of undemocratic tendencies by the security agency under its new leadership. “I wonder why “the SSS under Alhaji Lawal Daura that has turned Akwa Ibom State and other states into centres of its draconian operations has not deemed it necessary to invite for questioning, the Yobe State INEC REC, Mr. Abu Zarma, in whose bank account N15 million alleged to be a bribe was found.” He said the recent action by the SSS and the earlier arrest of the state REC were part of a sinister plot by the APC, to circumvent the will of the people of the South-South and South-East states controlled by the PDP.
Saying the plot would fail ultimately, Mr. Fayose argued that if a Government House occupied by a governor, who enjoys the same immunity like the President, as provided in the 1999 Constitution, could be invaded by a special squad of the SSS, it meant the SSS DG was moving the country towards dictatorship.
He said having witnessed the era of dictatorship and barbarism where Nigerians were treated with contempt, the governor said under the present democracy the people would never accommodate the 1984 era of draconian rule.
Mr. Fayose urged Mr. Buhari to call the DG SSS to order, pointing out that he should be made to know that his extremely controversial activities since he assumed office were of growing concern to Nigerians. “His actions as the DG SSS are regrettable, unfortunate, condemnable and unacceptable because he has come to symbolise dictatorship, which democracy abhors,” Mr. Fayose continued.
“Alhaji Lawal Daura should know that he is holding the office of DG SSS that he presently occupies in trust for all Nigerians and such office is not one that can be turned into instrument of political witch-hunt. “If Alhaji Daura continues with his use of the SSS to harass, intimidate and assault the constitution of Nigeria, President Buhari may have to show to Nigerians that he is not a party to the use of the security agency to witch-hunt his political opponents by sacking the DG SSS,” the governor said.

Politics › Re: $15bn Oil Deal: Why Indian High Commissioner Is After Me – Alison-madue by 83lagosroad(m): 10:02pm On Sep 02, 2015 |
sunnyb0b0: Nigeria’s former Petroleum Minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke, on Wednesday, chided the Indian High Commissioner to Nigeria, Mr. Ajjampur Ghanashyam, over his allegations that as former minister, Alison-Madueke ‘sat’ on a $15 billion oil deal.
Alison-Madueke who spoke through her lawyers, Messers Chike Amobi and Co., dismissed the allegations, describing it as spurious, unfounded and libelous.
Diezani Alison-Madueke
According to her, the High commissioner, Mr. Ghanashyam’s acrimony towards her is due to the refusal of the Federal Government of Nigeria to allow the Indian company, Oil and Gas Commission Videsh Limited (OVL), default on its contractual obligation to provide a $6 billion investment, (around RS36, 600 crore) in an 180,000 barrels (bpd) Greenfield refinery and 2,000 megawatt power plant or railway line from East to West of Nigeria.
In a release made to journalists in Abuja on behalf of the former minister, she said the publication by Mr. Ajjampur R. Ghanashyam to the effect that she delayed the approval of oil concession to twin Indian companies, Oil and Gas Commission Videsh Limited (OVL) and Mittal Energy International JV, OMEL (MITTAL) in 2006, after receiving a $25,000,000.00 signature bonus, is spurious, false and lacking in substance.
Madueke clarified that she was not the Minister of Petroleum Resources in 2006 when the said Indian companies entered into contractual agreement with the Federal Government and as such wouldn’t have received any signature bonus either as citizen or minister of the Federal Republic.
She also said she had no personal reason to sit on the contract just as she wondered why the High Commissioner would “choose to malign and attack her rather than commend her acting dispassionately in recommending for refund of the said signature bonus to the Indians when the matter was brought to her attention at the twilight of her tenure as minister.”
“When the issue of the request for refund, made by OVL, was re-presented to me in May 2015, I immediately prepared and dispatched a letter dated 13th May, 2015, Ref #: PI.LM/3900/S.693/Vol.1/78b, to former President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan (GCFR), recommending for the refund of the said signature bonus in compliance with the relevant and extant laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria which requires such approvals to be granted by the President, and implemented by the Federal Ministry of Finance.”
Mrs. Madueke further explained that the Federal Government voided the contract with OVL because the company wanted the Federal Government of Nigeria to waive the commitments they made during the bidding process which included investing $6 billion (around RS 36,600 crore) in an 180,000 barrels per day (bpd) greenfield refinery, a 2000 megawatt power plant or a railway line from East to West of Nigeria, all of which were considered in granting the concession in the first place.
On the allegation that the Indian High Commission to Nigeria suggested that contrary to global best practices in the industry, Mrs. Alison-Madueke used intermediaries to receive payment for crude oil transactions with India, clearly imputing a fraudulent ill-feeling to the former minister’s operation, she explained that the contract in question was a government to government crude oil sales transaction with established procedures which predates her tenure as minister.
She also said that the established procedure stipulates that the buying country, in this case India, selects and presents a local company as its agent to transact on its behalf as it is never the responsibility of selling country to select or nominate a company for the buying country.
She maintained that Nigeria never dictated nor suggested any intermediary or marketing company for India for the purposes of the said transaction.
“Apparently, the Indian High Commission to Nigerian mischievously obfuscated these facts to malign the former Nigerian Petroleum Minister whilst not disclosing that it was a government to government crude sales transaction,” the statement said.
The former Minister disclosed that what Mr. Ajjampur R. Ghanashyam neglected to inform Nigerians is that the oil concession was not granted to Oil and Gas Commission Videsh Limited (OVL) and Mittal Energy International JV, OMEL (MITTAL) due to inability of their subsidiary EMO Exploration and Production to meet cash obligation.
According to the lawyers acting on behalf of the minister, “Mr. Ajjampur R. Ghanashyam’s acrimony towards our client is due to the refusal of the Federal Government of Nigeria to allow OVL default on its contractual obligation to Nigeria in the case of:
A $ 6 billion investment, (around RS 36, 600 crore) in an 180,000 barrels (bpd) Greenfield refinery. 2,000 megawatt power plant or railway line from East to West of Nigeria.”
Mrs. Alison-Madueke said as a diplomat, the Indian High Commissioner who should foster bilateral and multilateral relations between his country and Nigeria, belittled “such a lofty position by officiously spreading false and misleading information calculated to malign Nigerian public officials , a conduct unbecoming of a foreign diplomat.
Indian-High-Commissioner-Ajjampur-Ghanashyam-when-he-paid-a-courtesy-call-on-President-Muhammadu-Buhari-recently
“We believe the conduct of Mr. Ajjampur R. Ghanashyam is aimed at damaging our client’s reputation for her insistence on protecting the interests of the people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and for not acceding to inappropriate requests of his country to be relieved of its contractual obligations to Nigeria.
“Based on the falsity and unfounded allegations against our client, we firmly but humbly request an unequivocal apology and a complete retraction of the libelous statements from Mr. Ajjampur R. Ghanashyam against our client.”
Mrs. Madueke advised Mr. Ajjampur R. Ghanashyam to govern his future conduct accordingly to prevent the possibility of reoccurrence of any other events that could potentially diminish the exalted office of a diplomat he represents.

kITATITA: Jonathan got my empathy because he comes across as someone who was betrayed by stealing cabinet members. By getting involved in their childish denial, Jonathan is invariable endorsing their acts. Jonathan's profile will soar if he uses the information coming out from all sources to compel his ministers to return their loot. Bro i now see the real problem woth thos country. Its simply SENTIMENT, PARTIAL-BAIS JUDGEMENT starting from the family its self. We keep encouraging inciting statements again people who have not been proven guilty when the members of his own cabinets have been alleged of fraud of billions, money divers (amechi),contract inflation ( fashola), inability to pay almost s year salary ( aregbesola), and so many others . I just hope this guys will not plunge this country into a war zone |

DeRoyalFranco: I wonder why you are calling them ex ministers.. Even Jonathan is still my own president.. And i still see APC as d opposition party... Qat no worries.. Correction = Nigeria president held a meeting with some of his ministers.. Simple! I think buhari should just use his brain. Start his own developmental programmes than this useless and needless witch hunting. Ok lets assume he jails jonathan and his ministers does he think he will be there for ever. Hom his own ministers will rot in jail if any of those guys have access to the presidency even if buhari himself is dead his pple will regret his actions. Am not saying curruption should be allowed but he should tread softly. Hum he,should learn from other war ravaged african countries, where little things have made the country turn upside down. At least respect the,ex president |

Career › Re: HELP !!!!!!!!!!! Right Abuse By Employers. by 83lagosroad(m): 4:18pm On Aug 28, 2015 |
maldonaldo: Good day All, I have an issue with a Chinese- owned FMCG manufacturing company that is based in Agege, Lagos.
I was employed February this year as an Area Sales Manager and my job function was to recruit Distributors – Business people who buy in bulk purchases and resell to Sub-distributors, Wholesalers and retailers as the case may be Although faced with the challenges of :
- No support sales team like Sales executive, Merchandisers etc (Though they promised to provide) - No mobility tool move around an Area covering 3 states in the south west. - No support in form of Marketing and promotions.
As a career person who has over 6 years experience in the same position in other companies in the past, I gave in my best and in no time started getting sales from my location.
Suddenly during the 1st week of August I got a call to appear at the Head Office and was told I’ve been relieved of my services because I didn’t perform as expected by management. Shocking as it is, and coupled with the fact that records proved otherwise, I agreed to move since it’s not my father’s company.
BUT my salary of July was not paid up till now (Almost 1 month), despite the fact that I surpassed my target and did 117%- well above my target in the month of July.
I have done ALL the necessary clearance – which are releasing all company’s property in my possession and the company’s staff (National Sales Manager and Regional Managers) have confirmed that I do not owe any customer /Distributor any KOBO.
I have been calling the HR Manager, the NSM and Regional Manager for weeks and all they are playing me like I’m kid.
I believe this is an infringement on my Human rights as I have a lot of financial challenges; I have a young family to take care, I have to move on with my career and so on.
The delay has made me lose my intention of applying for an MBA I wanted to apply for as deadline for application is passed and I’ve been exposed to terrible conditions and situations that have financial links.
I hereby appeal to all Human Right activists, Labour union activists, human right lawyers and the general public to advice me on what steps to take because I suspect FOUL PLAY by the management of this company.
I believe there are lots of Nigerian youths who have also been mistreated by these foreign companies and it's time we put an end to it. Crycry baby dont diaturb urself go get a court injunction arrest the fucking chineese guys and disturb their production. Or get urself back to the company and hold them to ransom Otherwise get a very potent diabolic juju and finish either yhe HR or the NSM to serve as scape goat The choice is urs |
