This yoruba led Protest is becoming suspicious to other nigerians. IBO Christians are targeted and killed in the North, no comment from the SW
All they are interested is start a big Propaganda to discredit GEJs govt. because as one of them wrote in  Punch newspaper
they will  bring this govt down, since no SW holds the top 5 position in government.

But they forgot that recently OBJ enjoyed his 2 terms at ASO ROCK and enriched his tribes men. they should just wait till 2015.
But i commend the ibos now for their stand on this one. Ibos no de Carry last this time!

Guy, go on twitter and facebook "occupy nigeria" and see what people are saying about how the SE is quiet.
As for the northern killing, should the SW and SS start (not saying that they would not join) protesting over that if the SE refuses to protest?? Cmon, dude!

You expect the yorubas to protest for you ? LOL HISTORY IS ABOUT REPEATING ITSELF.

You expect a people you people keep describing to Nigerians and foreigners as cowards, dirty, two-face and back-stabber to protest for the killing of you people ?

You expect a people that you laugh at when one of them die to protest for the killing of Igbos ?

Ain't you meant to ask the government why is not protecting your people ?

ain't you meant to ask the government why you lifes and properties are not safe ?

why ain't the governors of the SE asking this questions ?

That comment on Punch was made by an Igbo guy using yoruba IDs like you people ALWAYS do but Karma always favour the honest.

talking about governmental position

Figuratively, out of 865 top positions, North-West has 218 (25%); North-Central cornered 154 (17.80%), North-East, 139 or 16.07 %; South-South, 158 (18.27%), South-West, 167 or 19.31%; and South-East, 123 slots (14.22 %).

So you see you are an ideeiot that just made a fool out your self

Are people still debating this crap?

In Lagos there are Igbos on strike, in the South East, the few that are Teachers or Civil Servants were on strike. This is the fact.

Now if the debate is why did Business Men not close there shop? well that has never happened and will never happen. This attitude is common amongst Business men all over the world. It just happens that majority of the people in the East are in Trade.

I have been making this point yesterday and nobody has been able to show that historically SouthEast traders used to lead protests against Presidents whether it is IBB, Abacha or OBJ but all of a sudden under GEJ they no longer do. Nobody since yesterday has been able to produce undeniable facts to this effect. This thread is running to over 8 pages now.

What exactly is the hate on this thread all about other than the preducises that has been instilled in the avergae Nigerian against Igbo man. Some of you go to Europe and America and accuse whitemen of Racism but the level of Racism you guys indulge in is beyond this world. You can all engage in hate all you like, call this strike 10 times. Nobody will lock up their shop for you. You dont feed this people.

And if it is about becoming President, hold it. Nigeria is definitely functioning perfectly without Igbos in position of leadership. So we are very pleased with that. grin grin grin

All of you need some soul searching!
Re: Strike: Count Us Out –south-east Traders by Dede1(m): 7:23pm On Jan 10, 2012
Why would southeast traders get involve in a public disturbance because of the removal of phantom fuel subsidy while no Nigerian does anything when federal government promulgates policies that ban importation of goods and services which directly affect the traders?

Southeast would not give a hoot if federal government decides to ban extraction of crude oil. In fact in some communities in southeast, crude oil exploration has been violently resisted talk less of fuel subsidy. The same fools that fought Nigeria/Biafra civil war because of crude oil are once again at it.

Where do people like you get this distasteful paranoia that leads you to write things that make no sense ? Yoruba led protest indeed. Instead of you to understand the genuine anger against how Government and all associated with it are failing to do away with grotesque subsidy for own existence , to the protestation of the entire world, you are calling a genuine agitation a "Yoruba-led protest. How long has the entire world screamed at Nigeria to cut recurrent expenditure which provides all the luxuries, superflous positions and needless profligacy that would easily release the N1.4 trillion they lie will be saved from subsidy removal?

IBO Christians are targeted and killed in the North, no comment from the SW

What more do you want the SW to contribute than the consistent condemnation of the killing of innocent Nigerians everywhere? Besides, is the GEJ you back fervently not the person letting you down the most? As usual everything , even that not remotely connected to them, must be blamed on Yoruba people.

All they are interested is start a big Propaganda to discredit GEJs govt.

More paranoia-driven garbage seeing 'bogeyman' Yoruba "devils". GEJ is doing a fine job discrediting his own Government in so far as he is only ever interested in placating the AGIPs and leading in their favour. You talk as if GEJ is a wonderful President folks are just maliciously plotting against !!!!

But they forgot that recently OBJ enjoyed his 2 terms at ASO ROCK and enriched his tribes men.

Hogwash. What you say above is what GEJ's Northener buddies tried to remind him of when he decided to accept the poisoned chalice OBJ and Anenih offered him to "betray" others in the power sharing deal they swore GEJ signed up for. Don't dare put this at the feet of the SW. Yoruba folks were amongst those who spoke most robustly in defense of OBJ being booted out when he sought a third term. Stop the lies !!!!!

But i commend the ibos now for their stand on this one. Ibos no de Carry last this time!

Carry on making this fundamental issue an ethnic one. Reputations endure.

I can say with every sense of responsibility that the so called protest is politically motivated and it is aimed at bringing down the govt of President Jonathan. I've watched and listened to various speeches by the so called activist and some are even saying this is the opportunity for them to bring down the govt, some are praying for the president's death and this evening Ayo Opadokun was busy inciting the populace to go out and overthrow the govt that he doesn't believe anything good would come out of Gej's administration. I've wondered why the protest against the fuel subsidy removal (which is a step towards true federalism and fight against corruption) is loudest in the far north and SW. Discerning minds can decipher what's going o

Saw this write up and decided to share.

A lot of undiscerning Nigerians are flummoxed why
Ndigbos, the South-South and the Middle-belt are not
actively participating in the so called 'Occupy Nigeria'
hoax.

Why should the Igbos, South-South and Middle-
belt participate in protests against fuel subsidy
removal? How many Igbos, South-Southerners and Middle-beltans are major oil importers?

The cabals
benefiting from the oil subsidy are mostly the Hausa-
Fulanis and the Yorubas. The Dangotes, the Dantatas,
the Sawoes, the Danjumas, the Jubrils, the Aremus, the
Kayodes and the Babangidas are all from either the
core North or the South-West. They are the ones who make billions of Dollars from fuel subsidy. They are the
ones who after collecting subsidy, divert the product
meant to be delivered in the North to Niger Republic,
Chad and Benin. They are the ones who are among the
richest in the African continent. They are the ones who
boast of the richest black African. They are the ones sponsoring the protest against subsidy removal.

Majority of the common man/woman on the street
fighting against subsidy removal is doing so in his/her
genuine but ignorant conviction that he/she is doing
the right thing. He/she believes they are saving
Nigeria. But the truth is far from that: they are just being used as expendable pawns by the super-rich cabal.

If President Jonathan Goodluck had hiked the price of
petrol to N200.00 per litre but continue to pay the
cabals the exact sum on subsidy, you won't have seen any
of them standing up to join the people in any protest. In
short, they would have called him the best thing to happen to Nigeria. But because President Goodluck
Jonathan is hitting hard on their pockets via subsidy
removal, they are all crying out.

Savant minds should
start asking themselves these questions:

(1) Those who
sponsor Boko Haram, where do they get their income
from? Those super-rich cattle herdsmen, where do they get their money from? Why is it that the richest
Nigerians are Hausa-Fulanis? Abi na them go school
pass or sabi business pass?

(2)What tribe has the majority
of oil-block holders?

The removal of fuel subsidy is not
only an economic policy, it is also a security measure to
stymie the funds of Boko Haram sponsors.

Don't just join the bandwagon in their frenzy screams like one
diligently striving to be a fool. Take time to ponder the
hidden meaning of things; also endeavour to
understand the subtle and covert nature of power-play.

The Igbos, the South-Southerners and the Middle-
beltans understands this.

The Igbos have paid the price with their blood and are still paying it even today at the
hands of Boko Haram.

The Middle-beltans are the
bulwark against the encroachment of radical
Islamism; they are the ones being slaughtered in Jos.

The South-Southerners are the ones who stand
helplessly and watch others grow fat and super-rich on their oil.

But the scenario has changed today. Only a
South-South man could tackle the mammoths and
behemoths. Only a South-South man would have the
guts to want to right the wrongs. President Goodluck
Ebele Jonathan, be rest assured that I support you. Be assured that I and my family are ready to die for this cause if it comes to that. I want
to be able to say to my kids that "I fought and fell but
conquered so you could stand." May God continue to
protect you and bless all Nigerians. Mauritori te

it is in our psychy rember? we nigerians have always traded d future 4 crumbs off d govt officials be they politicians or military. northerners rejected atiku & co during d pdp convention because gej holds d strings of gvt coffers. even tinubu sold out and threw his support 2 gej against ribadu & his party's planned merger with CPC. see oshiomole siding with d pdp gvt.
