Am Alone: from 'reliable' sources close to the venue of the meeting on tweeter. Just don't take it as the whole truth, till official position is released after the meeting. adewasco2k: I head the same. Labour accepted N90, whereas FG insisting on N120. Still a long way to go before reaching an agreement. . . As for me, anything above N100 should be a NO.NO |

65 Naira or nothing Remember we in Lagos started the protests even before Labour Or TUC so we will continue, If Labour negotiates for anything more than 65naira Let them agree watever, they still have the harder task of coming back to sell that to the people. It now depends on us, if we are silly enough to back down. Remember, this just ain't about subsidy removal or not anymore. The people demand accountability, and cut in the gov't's excesses. Things have changed and some still don't see it. . .anyways we will soon see how "faceless" the masses are. Which by the way brings us to the de-facing of the faceless cabal. |

The state of the Nigerian Nation now, is likened to the fate of an over borded SHIP delibrately and illegally loaded by the ship captain and port officials. And it is heading, if not bound to wreck. Amidst this great uncertainty, insecurity and danger the passengers on board are screwing and calling upon the captains and on-board safety experts to hurriedly rescue the situation before they are doomed, But all they could profer its that the ship should be allowed to sink that they hope and believe it will be a good landing atlast if the people could only be calm and key in to their faith. Mr. President, must we be allowed to sink first before the rescue begins. WHAT IF WE ADOPT THE OPTION OF HAND PICKING THESE ILLEGAL ON BOARD PASSENGERS AND CAST THEM INTO THE WATER BEFORE ITS TOO LATE, ATLEAST FOR THE SAFETY OF THE LEGITIMATE PASSENGERS. WE KNOW IT COULD BE DIFFICULT IN THE BEGINNING, BECAUSE THEY ACTUALLY PASSED THROUGH YOU AND YOU BOARDED THEM KNOWING FULLY WELL THAT THERE IS NO LONGER SPACE FOR THEM. AMIDST ALL THESE YOU EXPECT THE PASSENGERS TO STOP SCREEMING AND CALLING ON ANY OTHER GOD THEY BELIEVE COULD RESCUE THEM, Nigerians and indeed the whole world is watching the scenario unfold, OCCUPY TO SAVE NIGERIA!! |

Labour just offered NGN65 until April, then raise to NGN90. Benchmarks and all, FGN kicks against, says it will cause scarcity, hoarding etc |
Re: Jonathan, Labour Leaders To Meet At 5pm Today by occam(m): 9:19pm On Jan 12, 2012 |
Labour union should only agree to a proposal that holds this govt accountable. It's not only about reversing it back to N65 but ensuring this Govt. keeps its promise to - A 20% reduction in subsidy starting in April 2012 and for the next 5yrs. Yearly increment will be tied to tangible implementation of projects in key areas: completion of refineries, building of roads, Improvement in power supply etc. For instance, if by April 2013 an agreed upon project is not completed then Govt cannot increase prices. - Cut in salary for all Federal elected officials. 25% cut in basic salary and 50% cut for all other allowances. Plus a firm commitment to cut wasteful spending in the budget. Allocating N18.5 billion for Aso Rock is a prime example. - An independent investigation into the N1.3 trillion subsidy for this year and overall oil subsidy regime. Forget that Senate investigation; that's just show and tell. I just don't know who can handle this - Reject any palliative measures. We don't need that crap. This is only for Jonah and his boys to chop money This is the way to go; if not this govt will come back in 2yrs or 3yrs and tell us the economy is collapsing and they need to remove oil subsidy |
