If Nigerians should relocate to their ethnic enclaves due to the menace of Boko Haram or any other religious group, it is prudent that each ethnicity takes total control of the resources located its area of abode.

This can only be achieved if every right-thinking person associated with the geographical expression called Nigeria supports its disintegration. This is the perfect opportunity to terminate the project known as Nigeria.
we must terminate this union, that will be our collectively fight to cut out from these people,i swear with my blood these country will not last,

Isn't a shame? Yet they speak of unity, one oneness  cry Igbo don suffer no be small.  My cousin was among this people once: stranded, unable to leave north but luckily for him, an Igbo bus-driver gave him a ride out of north when transportation became too scarce. I wish the same luck to all Igbo up north. GUO buses, Chukwu gozie una.
Ndi-Igbo we have more problem to face than subsidy removal, the Igbo protesting against susidy removal stop wasting your time and protest for your people. We have alot more pressing matter. Ndi-Igbo in SE/SS get out of your home and protest or fight for your people. Too bad there are very few Igbo men in the Nigerian army but the few should go up north. After ojukwu died, this people re-began what started the civil war.  When war breaks, when another Ojukwu surfaces, they come say na him be separatist too. Una see am. I'm just praying for the day Nigeria dis-ingrate

I have said it.

All we need is an Alex Salmond-like politician. Someone who knows what they are doing and able to inspire a generation to a common political course.

The United Kingdom as great as it is, is at cross-roads right now just because the people of Scotland has given their mandate to Scottish Nationalist Party.

Lets have a regional party that is led by the brightest amongst us, who also appreciate our history. All it takes is a successful economic agenda that exploits the ingenuity of our people and trust me a different future is possible. Our old allies will identify with us and some of our adversaries may even prefer to identify with progress.

There is no point of this pretence, we can only live in denial for so long. The story Sudan says it can be done, the story of United Kingdom says we can only pretend for so long.

I believe that the party is already there : APGA

Now, the challenge is to get PDP members (like you) to join it. Some of the finest and most resourceful Igbo politicians are in PDP. Why not them come out of it and join APGA?
Is Peter Obi and Rochas Okorocha more powerful than all of them put together?

Nna, I'm tired of pointing fingers. I must be the change that I seek!

Lets not go down that debate, but APGA has not shown true leadership. The party has not been able to lead itself. Fractured and dont believe the brightest amongst us have had a reason to identify with the party

It is absolutely redundant to think about the future of Ndigbo, politically or otherwise, in an equation called Nigeria. I do not want regional political party or fire-brand Igbo political leader against the backdrop of infinitesimal hope to remain in Nigeria, my unalloyed political expectation is nation state. It must be now!!!!

You see this is the problem. I WOULD NEVER COMPLAIN about a problem I can solve. You think that the way to solve APGA problem is to be in PDP? With all due respect, that is counter-intuitive.

Lanre_front: "Is this news really true?

[b]Some devilish people having been spreading dangerouse fake news in order to cause reprisal attacks from other parts of the country.

If there really is house to house killing going on, there is no way it wouldn't have become public knowledge by now through the news media.

If the army could be sent to escort 20 buses, that means the militray is already aware and under an hour such vital information would have reached the Preisdeny. Wouldn't the army by now have been sent en-mass to stop this genocide?"

The people who are spreading this 'house to house' killing of the Igbos in Maiduguri are not only evil-minded people with their agendas, they are also the most ignorant of how isolated the BH cult is in the North; out of their ignorance and/or mischief, they think every Muslim in the North is a support or even member of BH.

If that is the case, one wonders how many Igbo would stand a chance of surviving by now! Just imagine MILLIONS of Kanuris men and women all out to kill every single Igbo!

And if there is 'a house to house killing', how come hundreds or possible thousands Igbos spent days in an open motor park waiting for buses and yet those who were chasing them 'from house to house' to kill them did not follow them to the park to kill them before the buses with the military escorts arrived?

Are people so dumb that they do not know that if there were any mass ethnic attacks on a minority group, or even a clear threat of these, the survival instinct is to run the army/police barracks or TO THE BUSH with or without any belongings?

Unfortunately, the same types of rumours were spread by some evil-minded people in the north that Hausa Muslims are targeted en mass in SS and SE, but just like you pointed out, we in the north did not believe it, as there was no any credible reports or even numerous SOS calls emanating from the SS or SE about it.

I suspect those behind these rumours are people who are seriously worried about the squeeze that is tightening around the neck of GEJ's govt as a result of the united mass actions across the country resisting their insensitive removal of fuel subsidy.

It is true that there is a a heightened MASS EXODUS of Southerners from the North since evil cult of BH gave their deadline 2 wks ago, JUST AS THERE IS SIMILAR,SIMULTANEOUS, PANICKY MASS EXODUS OF NORTHERNERS from the South within this period.

lets not destroy this thread, but the last time I checked there are still 2 factions of APGA. which one do you pledge loyalty to? I still have not seen any reason to join APGA. If there is a sensible plan for a sensible regional party I will like to work towards one. But I don't think APGA has shown leadership or even the willingness to embrace others and learn how to build a movement. Dont wanna get involved in the Victor Umeh vs Checkwas Okorie show.

We need a new movement! or a Rebirth of the existing one. I am not going to blindly accept any crap just because I think a regional party will help advance our agenda.

I beg to disagree!
One of the most important lessons of the failed Biafran effort was precisely the lack of a political movement (Party) to thoroughly consummate the Biafran message to ALL parts of Eastern Nigeria.
Methinks that even secessionist movements are more likely to succeed if they are led by registered political parties.
The end justifies the means in this case.
We are still Nigerians, until we convince both ourselves and our enemies that we must secede. Only then would our efforts not be wasted again.
For now, only APGA has that label.

What is needed is a REBIRTH of APGA, and it will not be done by ghosts, but humans like yourself. If everybody "wuo ahu apia" (claims don't dirty me), then, nobody will even register a new one. In any case if you register a new one, it will take YEARS to get to where APGA is today.
The faction you talk about is only there because folks have abandoned the APGA project to Peter Obi.

Well, I've said my own.

Time is coming for justice to be served in that bloody country

Officials in South Sudan say 57 people have been killed in renewed fighting between two rival tribes.

The officials said Friday the clashes broke out Wednesday when armed members of the Murle tribe attacked villages of the Lou Nuer tribe in Jonglei state.

About 6,000 men from the Lou Nuer attacked the town of Pibor and other areas controlled by the Murle last month.

One South Sudanese official said those attacks killed more than 3,000 villagers, including more than 2,000 women and children.  U.N. officials were not able to confirm that figure but said at least several dozen people were killed.

It is obvious that there are some people who are desperately trying to save GEJ's butt from the wrath and fury of the people over his ill-advised withdrawal of oil subsidy, and they can go to ANY LENGTH, even if it means inciting genocidal and counter-genocidal attacks among Nigerian peoples.

True, any decent human being would abhor the callous, evil and un-Islamic way the BH cult members target innocent Christians specifically in the later spate of their brutal, cold-blooded murders.

And it is true that Igbos living in the North, who happen to be mainly Christians, happen to bear the brunt of such latest series of BH attacks.

But it is also true that BH, as a merciless fanatical religious sect that is so nihilistic and apocalyptic, represents only a very, very, very tiny fraction of the people of Maiduguri city itself (talkless of the entire Muslim North).

So let's use our common sense and reflect on these few questions, among many others:

1. When the BH started their killings, were they not specifically targeting Nigerian security operatives, mainly the Police?

2. When they began to expand their targets, was it not government officials in their immediate mid, both serving and retired, that they started killing?

3. And when they started detonating bombs, was it not police and other government targets that they were attacking?

4. What is the meaning of a 'Genocide'? If it were a 'genocide' that had been perpetrated by Muslims Northerners against the Igbos and other Christians living in the North for all this long, not an act of terrorism by a faceless, evil and cowardly terrorist organization, how many Igbos and Christians would have remained by now in major NW cities, such as Kano, Maiduguri, Kaduna, Sokoto, Bauchi, etc?

5. For those who fully appreciate the semantic import of the word 'genocide', how possible is it in this our age of technology that some majority Muslim communities would be committing a 'genocide' against some Christian minorities for months and yet the international community, the international press, the local press and, more importantly, the government of the land, did not get a hint of it?

6. How long did it take the world to find out that there were mass killings (not even a genocide) a couple of weeks ago in the newly independent country of South Sudan, when one of the local tribes massacred an estimated three thousand (3,000) members of another tribe, including women and children?

7. Didn't almost every international broadcaster carry the story, most of them showing many gory pictures of badly mutilated bodies and chaotic scenes of thousands of haggard and emaciated women, children and the elderly emerging from the thick bushes they had been hiding in for days?

8. Didn't the UN make an urgent and unusually speedy emergency deployment of it's troops to that very remote parts of South Sudan in order to swiftly prevent further killings of innocent people and help the survivors?

9. If the world could so quickly and promptly get a wind of a mass killing (not even a genocide) in such S. Sudan areas that are among the most remote, most desolate and most deprived of all modern amenities, how could a 'genocide' in a country like Nigeria, and against a people like the Igbos, in this our modern era, escape the attention of the world?

Unfortunately, the same types of rumours that are discussed here are also being spread by same evil-minded people, that Hausa Muslims are being hunted down and killed en mass in SS and SE states.

And maybe it is just a matter of time before these evil anti-people propagandists succeed in inciting our respective peoples to embark on mutually destructive mass killings and counter-killings that could result into unnecessary deaths of thousands of innocent lives on both sides.

The worst part of it is that even after such a scenario, if the elite and their foreign masters decide that we have to continue to live together, they can simply deploy the vast military and other resources at their disposal to force us to remain together, despite all the killings!

US Issues Travel Warning on Nigeria

By Tokunbo Adedoja
The United States has issued a fresh travel warning on Nigeria citing the recent declaration of state of emergency in some states by President Goodluck Jonathan and the protests trailing the removal of fuel subsidy.

The new warning, which was issued by the State Department, was dated January 12 and replace that of October 13, 2011.

US citizens were not only warned against travelling to Nigeria, they were also cautioned not to travel to 10 states of the federation and the Gulf of Guinea because of the risks of kidnapping, robbery, and other armed attacks.

The 10 states are Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta, Rivers, Abia, Edo, Imo, Plateau, Bauchi and Borno.
The US said with the state of emergency declared in four northern states following attacks by Boko Haram, the military now has sweeping powers to search and arrest without warrants.

It also said the nationwide strike over subsidy removal has raised concern over security and led to the disruption of international flights .
The travel warning recalled the attacks by Boko Haram in some northern states and kidnapping in some southern states, adding that these have made travelling to some parts of the country riskier.

According to the US, from January 2009 to November 2010, over 140 foreigners had been kidnapped in Nigeria, including seven US citizens while six of them were killed during these abductions.

Noting that the risk of additional attacks against Western targets in Nigeria remains high, US said, "Travel by foreigners to areas considered by the Nigerian government to be conflict areas without prior consultation and coordination with local security authorities is not recommended."

On the Gulf of Guinea, it cited regular reports of piracy and armed gangs boarding both commercial and private vessels to rob travellers, adding that, "The Nigerian Navy has limited capacity to respond to criminal acts at sea."

Why must every debate in this country come down to tribe, If Mr Yoruba is stealing money the  defence that when Mrs Hausa was there she stole also is a non defence, this whole subsidy debate is not an ethnic thing even though some of you are trying to make it one.
