Please stop protesting if you have no intention of seeing it through to the end .

In the memory of these 20 great Nigerians, it is important to persist in our quest for a just and fair Nigeria!!

honestly as long as people like bankole, our senators and our governors can continue to embezzle funds, and retire to dubai and london and co, without anything happening to them, then maybe those ppl died in vain.

They died a very useless, valueless death.

They sacrificed their lives in the pursuit of an unachievable course. Not because it was indeed unachievable, but rather because Nigerians did not have the heart to follow through.

Their death would have served a better purpose if they had offered it to Boko Haram in exchange for 20 Litres of PMS and 72 Post humous Virgins.

Even if like they had behaved like the Middle Eastern boy who set himself on fire and triggered a big revolution, their corpse would be no different from a Yaba thief that was set ablaze on the streets.

MORAL LESSON; Dont act a fool in front of the Police in Nigeria/especially for/on behalf of Nigerians. Your death would be "OYO" (On your own).

Your Tomb Stone (if you are lucky to have one) would read "NA WHO SEND YOU WORK"

It look like that for now, because despite all the struggle they have reconcile and the fuel price still peg at N97 and it seems that nobody say any tangible thing again./

The protestors who died are heros who were willing to give their lives for a noble cause.

I hail them!

If only the rest of the protestors could gain similar courage to these courageous 20!!

Why let these heros die in vain??

why? why?
Re: Do not allow the 20 Fuel Protestors Death to be in vain !! by Nobody: 4:43pm On Jan 17, 2012
hmmmn. It seems the end of the journey is still far-away. Many generations may not see a better Nigeria. some may not even know it? I am sure 5 yrs from now when we are all used to the suffering, N200 per litre will not stop us from feeding our families or going to clubs or celebrating Sallah and Christmas. Salaries of Public officials will be jerked up every year nonetheless   Nigeria is truly a special case that needs to be taught in Foreign Universities.  grin

Fuel price hike is just a sample of the hardships to come.

Wait till they devalue the Naira to half its present value.

Cost of everything including food would double

People would lose jobs and many would have to return to their villages in order to be able to feed themselves.

Many children would have to leave schools as school fees would become too expensive.

All the while the children of the elites would be flown abroad to recieve the best education and would continue to enslave our children and our future generations.

How do you explain to your children that you allowed their enslavement?

Nigerians only you yourself can gain your freedom. Not God , Not USA

Our freedom is in our own hands!!!

@GenBuhari - Nigerians (the Masses) never had Freedom in the first place. mention a period before and after independence that the masses controlled their economic destinies. it has always been the elite minority leaders from North/East/South/West that have been usign Federal Character and other divisive concepts to keep the masses rolling in stu.pidity. it has never changed and it will never change.

GenBuhari,
why are you still alive?
why did you not also make the ultimate sacrifice like the 20?
did you not go out into the streets?
or did you cower at the back
while sending the innocent forward to their doom?

and more importantly,
are you looking for more innocents to kill?
why dont you give them a shining example?
yes, go out and commit suicide by mopol.
like you and nlc/tuc have made the 20 do!

Why are they not being given massive funerals by the masses?

We have never needed our freedom as much as we need it today.

The corrupt criminals that have siezed our country are squeezing the life out of Nigeria.

This is only going to end up one way - a military dictatorship, as it seems Nigeria is unwilling to free itself.

They are martyrs and showed bunch of slaves in Nigeria that "It's better to die on your feet than to live on your knees."

These guys were given two options, DEATH or become a SLAVE and they chose the former.

May their souls rest in Peace. These are people who went out believing that Change was possible and unfortunately met their deaths protesting for it.

This is the kind of death that our forefathers believed was honorable -- to die fighting for what you believe in. Unfortunately, the Nigeria of today no longer thinks that way. Many of our so-called youths are too busy thinking of ways to preserve their lives, even when it is really not worth much considering what the thieves continue to steal from them in korokoro.

@OP

Of course, they died in perfect vain. Only handful of creatures out of Nigeria is useful. Nigeria is a useless country populated by useless people that often die a useless death. The protest was a useless endeavor which has no aim. After all the hell noises and waste of lives and properties, the removed fuel subsidy stays and price of fuel is still higher than pre-strike era.

Until Nigerians understand Nigeria is fundamentally divided entity and seek political rebirth, they will never experience any form of growth.

^ How can you say that dying for what you believe in is a useless death?

I think you need to check your reasoning skills.

Those killed are 20 of Nigeria's greatest!
