thats my main concern. i got a brand new i5, 32gig online and d imei was unlocked, on opening it, its asking for zip code and last 4 digits of d social security nos dat bought d fone before i could activate it. i contacted d seller, he gave me d codes but when i inserted it, it kept on bouncing. the guy has stopped replying me. i have searched all over d net. no soln yet. d fone is in my drawer now. never activated.

that was d last iphone i bought online apart from Apple store direct.

i can imagine what people will now face with ios7

It wont ask for id wen going to ios7. It is wen u want to remove d id on ios7 dat is d issue. Make sure it is ur own id dat is on it wen going to ios7

Na dude, I jst bone it and kip w8tn 4 official ios7, I saw alot of folk complainin abt d apple developer id on d activation screen after d upgrade xpecially iphone 5, even if u downgrade to officially ios6.1.4 it stl requetin for it & I dnt av one!
So I dnt wnt to loose mi 70k like dat

What Tumababa was trying to say was a developers id isnt necessary for ios 7 beta restore.

it will never ask you for that. However if you were to upgrade to ios 7 and the find my phone option of

activation lock is ticked automatically or by you, the next time you restore your iphone, you will be asked

for the apple id or to make things easier to understand, your icloud account. this, you would have to provide

to proceed to activation.
