What you guys think about this lineup against Spuds??

Ole's default format in big games is 3-5-2 or in-game 3-4-1-2. I see Ole going for his most experienced team for a fresh start, Matic missing out slightly.

***************** de Gea ******************
**** Bailly ***** Maguire ***** Lindelof ****
WB *** Fred *** Bruno *** Pogba *** Shaw
********** Martial ***** Rashford **********

I agree with the formation as its a big game away from home. I cant say for sure about the personnel. I have a feeling that Matic will start.

The only change in that line-up should be Baily for Lindelof.

I understand Matic inclusion ahead of Mc-tominay, playing Bruno & Pogba, we need a DM that won't bother joining attack

he certainly did. also I think Ole makes it clear enough that you get in the team if you show you want it the most for your position, and it's been a fairly consistent model with the exception of the GK position from my observation so far.
it will be a really shameful spectacle if Martial had allowed or allows himself to be upstaged by Ighalo for any reasonable stretch of games, it'd certainly spell his end in Manchester United.

True.

B. Williams is making L. Shaw sit up too.

Good competition always helps.

Bailly for Lindelof and McT for Fred

I don’t think Fred will do very well on the right side of midfield as a left-legged player... Ideally Pogba should be on the right, but then that man seems to have a thing for the left flanks

Jude Bellingham's father is keen for his son to follow in the footsteps of Jadon Sancho and join Dortmund. Breaking into Manchester United's first-team at the age of 17 with the current options at the club would be a big task.

Manchester United have a “clear road” in signing Van De Beek with Real Madrid having no plans to make any big signings this summer when asked by his agent. Real Madrid did have talks last year but did not go further than him being a option for them.

FIFA are set to announce that national leagues can open their summer transfer windows up to four weeks before the end of their 2019/20 seasons, but any signings will not be eligible to play until the 2020/21 season.

I really don't understand this obsession with Bailly. I always see people removing Lindelof and replacing him with Bailly in suggested lineups. Why? The same Bailly that cannot keep fit? Bailly was good in his first season but since then, he has always been injured and most of these injuries are caused by his overly physical and crazy playing style. Lindelof has been very good at CB this season. He has improved a lot and he is going to improve more. He has not been dribbled past this season and he has not made any errors leading to goal. If we are going to replace Lindelof, then he should be replaced with someone better and i don't think Bailly is better. Bailly is just another Phil Jones without the funny faces

Go and watch our game against Crystal Palace @ Old Trafford....lets start from there

Lindelof better than Baily? grin grin

Pogba, Neymar and Kane can't keep fit too.....

Seriously, how many games has Pogba, Neymar and Kane missed through injury since they joined their present club compared to Baily's

And nobody is disputing his ability, but compared to Lindelof's consistency and improvment, he is way below........and apparently you only made mention of just one match while Lindelof has been bossing most times even more than Maguire

It’s a good thing we’re having replacements and more options in several areas of the pitch.

James is a fantastic piece of business. He isn’t expensive and won’t mind sitting on the bench. He himself expects to play 20 EPL games or less per season. And he can be effective too.

We still need players. Real competition will keep players on their toes.

P. S: Did the arrival of Ighalo push Martial to do better in any way?

Exactly what Ole has been pushing for. Players that are ready to give their all for the team, not self-centred or full of ego.

Only way that can be achieved is by filling the team with quality players, and a very good coaching team too.

Ofcourse, Ighalo’s arrival spurred Martial on. He knows Ighalo is ready to give it all for the club, so performance has to improve and be consistent if he’s to keep his spot.

Well, Neres had an injury plagued season thus his Stat will definitely not match up to Sancho.

One thing about Sancho I have noticed whenever I watch him is that he likes drifting from the RW to LW or AM however, I am not sure if he does that to allow Hakimi the space to bomb forward or if it's part of his game. Any idea?

Sancho will be welcomed by me but not at an outrageous price tag.

Sancho’s game is dynamic, which is what makes him dangerous. He can function as the traditional EPL winger, and as an Inside forward also, with even playmaker abilities.

Wan-Bissaka is more focused on improving his attacking ability, so I believe he’ll benefit from Sancho’s dynamic edge.

This formation limits wing play, and I won’t want Matic against a team like Tottenham please. Also, Fred is not effective in a RCM role.

Spurs wing-backs can be exploited, they either give in or get cards for fouls. So I’ll prefer a formation that puts pressure on them, and thankfully, we have Bruno to take care of that central attack.

Who would you prefer as your last man to mark Aguero?
Baily OR Lindelof?

Even with Lindelof's improvement, Baily is still better.... I will even pick Smalling ahead of Lindelof.

Baily's issue is just injury, if he can stay fit................Lindelof will always be on the bench

Maybe you should just mention a defensive attribute that Lindelof has more than Baily ( Tackling, Aerial duels, Interceptions, Confidence on ball etc)

Go check the stats, Lindelof has not made any errors leading to goal this season. If you say he is a bit jittery some times, i'd agree with you. But that is a confidence issue and he is certainly growing more confident every match day.

How can you compare Baily's situation to Neymar and Kane? Neymar and Kane still directly influence where their team finishes in the league despite their injuries. Can the same be said of Bailly? Can you boldly say that if Bailly was fit all season and he has been playing instead of lindelof that we would have conceded less goals? What impact would Bailly have on the team that Lindelof cannot or doesn't have?

Don't get me wrong, I like Bailly and i have high hopes for him. But Bailly has not even been available for selection and i will always choose a player who makes himself available over a player who spends the season in a sick bay.

YES, we would have conceded less goals and more clean sheet, with Bailly and Maguire as our CB pairing.
