My dad died last week aged 74. He was well taken care of when he was alive. Am one of those that condemn expensive burial but to my surprise apart from family contributions my own personal budget for the burial which comes up October is nothing less than 350k already and the more God bless me I ll add more before the date. So far there's a word called 'befitting burial' I must give it to my loving father shikena! Wait till your papa die before you judge me |

Africa lifestyles especially Nigeria is of no importance to the world. Only in Nigeria, in some cultures bride price and miscellaneous can buy a complete duplex, in other cultures they don't have time for those uneccessities. In Nigeria also funeral activities are totally ambiguous e. g Yoruba, Binis, Ibo etc... The deceased is not taking all these chunk of vanity anywhere. According to the scripture "from dust you are, and to dust you'll return ".. We(Nigeria) devote so much time for what doesn't make sense or add substance to our existence, that's why d continent is far behind in almost everything all in the name of foolish cultures and traditions. Man made cultures and traditions and over time, they're supposed to be subjected to scrutiny and if need be abolish irrelevant ones. |
