Stanbic is okay, the 5 banks listed are the biggest in terms of profitability, deposits, loans advancement etc.

From the recently released financial reports of 2019 by UBA and Zenith Bank.

UBA made a profit after tax of over N90 billion, while Zenith Bank made N200 billion.

We are expecting the result of GTB and Access Bank this week

I am no expert but I am surprised to see Access bank in that list, I hear more of negative news about that bank than positive.

Why would any body do a t.b of 2 or 3 percent for 90 days when a saving account gives 4.5 percent per month....rationality is key.....if u leave 10m in a saving accounts it generate 40k monthly (no lost bids ) while tb 23k per months so in 90 day u make 120k while tb 63k ...only if u are biding 1 year

Access is a very big bank, i think they have the largest customer base.

Access is made up of the old Access Bank, International Bank and former Diamond Bank

This is exactly why I did 182 days at 3.5% last week.

I may be tempted one day to take the money and buy a new Benz. It's better I don't see it in my account.

Also, these fraudsters are doing a lot these days.

how do. u go about this can you share please..... I'll appreciate if you do

thanks

Don't be surprised, the cretaria for qualification has been pointed out and that is it. When it come to financial institutions, feelings, opinions or such things are rearly used to categories. They are graded by what the books are saying.

What about Union Bank please? Am I safe with them? Have all my savings with them. Opened a Union Flex account with them for almost a year now with interest rate well above 4%

I guess most banks. just do dollar FD.

The 2% is what I'm not sure of.

I think for Stanbic, you'd have to be investing $1m or more to get up to 2.5%.
perhaps 1-2% is more common place.

I will try Stanbic

Some investment tips during this coronavirus madness:

1) Remember that the stock market is largely based on perception and sentiment.
2) If you want to make a long term investment, the price today shouldn’t matter, what’s important is where it could/should be in the future.
3) Gold has always been a safe haven investment at times like this
4) Be wary of currency depreciation as this can affect different countries differently.
5) Try not to be a prisoner of the moment, this like other epidemics will pass.
6) If you want peace of mind, avoid volatile stocks and crypto currencies

I think rates are getting worse. It continues to defy economic sense.

Today's March Savings Bond Offer Circular shows a shedding of over 1% off the last one of February.

2-Year FGN Savings Bond due March11, 2022: 4.131% per annum
3-Year FGN Savings Bond due March 11, 2023: 5.131% per annum

and Inflation is moving opposite direction. I wonder how the graph will look like

please let me know the formula you use in calculating. thanks
first you divide interest received by principal then you multiply by 100 then you multiply by 12. You should get annual interest. Note tax has not been considered though it will reduce the amount received as interest but then it is irrelevant as it cannot be avoided.
