@Feelamong I sent you a PM, wanted to inquire about posting question regarding similar charges, but don't want to violate earlier stated group policy. Kindly respond.

godash:

Thank you sir. I've just sent out an email to them.

To be clear, are you saying the current CBN approved charges is still 0.125% of the upfront interest or is it 0.125% of the face value?

How's the 500 niara calculated? What does it represent in % of interest terms?

Honestly how they arrived at that figure I don't really know.

Yes. Tbills has the faith of the Federal Government. Only the FG going under can affect it. War, apocalypse.

as it looks now we dont expect any changes in the last stop rates.....CBN has been mopping us cash via OMO

Hello house, I'm a newbie commenter, though I have been observing and learning behind the scenes. I am with ecobank and I just contacted them to send me some forms. What should I do/avoid/watch out for ? I'm starting with about 0.5 and I intend reinvest the upfront interest.

hello house

I'm new to all these, though I've been googling a lot about Nigeria treasury bills.

I have few questions that needs clarifications.

1. I would like to know the discount rate offered by CBN at the last auction for 91days (t-bills). I've been to CBN website, but dey just ended up confusing me. I don't know how to get that info, with the multitude of info displayed.

2. I was at my bank 2day, I didn't know an auction would be 2maro, dey said it would probably be in another 2 weeks (although it was obvious they weren't sure - but they acted like there was no way they could get accurate information)

3. After reading post here today, I'm hoping it's not too late to cancel and send a request to the bank to participate in the upcoming auction. BTW, my account hasn't been debited yet - so I'm hoping it's a good thing.

I was given a discount rate for 13.5% for 91 days, I'm hoping I could get 14.25% at the auction.

Please pardon my ignorance or any question that seems silly. I just want to learn

@feelamong @Ukay2

I mainly do NTB with stanbic ibtc bank as I can bid for myself the interest rate....

But I think zenith bank minimum is 500,000 naira with normal cbn NTB charges for banks...you have to go to any zenith bank branch nearest to you before 12 pm tomorrow and apply for any tenor...91,182 or 364 days you want. ..ask them if you can bid for yourself or you must go with their bank rate....

Just come to this forum tomorrow morning before 12 noon as ogas in this forum will give us advise rates for each tenor if you will bid for yourself

Hope this information will guide you...

Happy investing

According to the calendar, another bidding will take place on the 22nd, and that will include 364 days.
The one for the 15th wont include 1 year.
Here is the link via CBN website. https://www.cbn.gov.ng/documents/circulars.asp ,
Click on the NTB issue programme.

Normally, you should be able to view the latest stop rates on CBN site at https://www.cbn.gov.ng/rates/GovtSecurities.asp. But the it some times takes a while to be posted on there. Most times, you'll get the rates on this thread much quicker.

2. I was at my bank 2day, I didn't know an auction would be 2maro, dey said it would probably be in another 2 weeks (although it was obvious they weren't sure - but they acted like there was no way they could get accurate information)

The next auction is actually on Sept 14th. Typically banks want you to confirm your TB order 1 or 2 days before the actual bid date. But with the upcoming holidays, tomorrow sounds like the confirmation date for most banks.

Just got off the phone with First Bank and GTBank and they confirmed I can specify my own rate and they'll bid for me.

First Bank rate is 0.125% of the interest as custody fee.
GTBank is the above plus an additional transaction fee (I think N500 or so)
