It won't take u 4 years to read it. In less than 90 minutes, you will be getting the details clearer. If you are asking for summary, it means looking for short cut to success. A summary cannot answer all the questions that you may want to ask. By the time you go through the thread, you will be seeing most of your intended questions answered. We have had newbies who took our advice to read from the beginning and it has really paid off.

Also please write on how we can participate in the treasury notes and advantages or otherwise to t-bills.

Please for those in the house that are already investing, I want to know if you're using the PD and investing via auctions or using the secondary market? Truly, sorry if I displayed any ignorance.
Re: Treasury Bills In Nigeria by BRAINNY(m): 11:26am On Sep 13, 2016
The next auction is on Wednesday, 14th September.

Right. I requested by email for a bid rate of 17.0% for 182 days. They acknowledge first by email that I got served at 17.0% but the investment advice letter they later sent showed a discount rate of 16.5% so I'm ironing that out with them right now.

I would love to reach you directly to discuss some more about them.

I'm still new on Nairaland so I'm not sure what to do initiate direct contact. Please send me a direct message if you know how to. Anyways, the different between our rates is probably down to the fact that you chose your own rate of 17%, whereas I agreed to go with their own bid rate. Would love to know what the outcome is from the ironing board, lol.

"With no OMO maturities next week, the PMA will be the main driver of market sentiments. On offer are N48.1bn, N48.5bn and N86.7bn on the

91-day, 182-day and 364-day bills respectively; indicating additional borrowing of N86.7bn. We therefore expect a mildly bearish market outlook.

Renewed institutional and retail client interest in T-Bills may however sustain."

This is a small bit from one of the reports i get from one of the banks...

This clearly means that the rates would remain high at the Auction

Thanks for the information Feelamong.

Also, am more confused right now as it relates to the 365days Auction. From the CBN calendar, it was indicated that there will be no 365days auction this week but that will be available on the 22nd of September 2016. But to my greatest surprise CBN is dishing out a 365days auction today and with this auction of CBN, I've loosed out of today's 365days auction.

@ FEELAMONG,PLEASE WILL THERE A ANOTHER 365days AUCTION NEXT WEEK

Regards.

Would have thought a hawkish outlook is +ve for rates but then again demand sometimes drives the market so it's all coolio

when you have a lot more winning than the amount required at a particular stop rate..

For EG..if CBN intends to raise N50B 91 days bill...and eventually get N48B at below 14% and the last N2b having subscribers who have all bidded 14% to the tune of N5B.

Since CBN needs only N2b, they will look at the bids and then prorate maybe by saying that they will take only 70% of each of those that bidded 14%.

That way, if you bidded 14% for your N1M, CBN will only take the Discounted Value for N700K

Did you mean in 2 weeks instead? Or is there actually an auction next week?

Where can i access this 4th quarter calendar?

Can people who did the last auction (yesterday) with GTbank please confirm if their bids or requests were granted.

Thanks

I'm not sure i understand why this good news.
Doesn't their rate of 18.10 being lower than 18.2 mean "bad news" for you?
Or do those figures only refer to people who went with the Bank rates and you have ended up with 0.1% more
Right?
