Captured Boko Haram leaders under interogation (read torture) gave information a few days ago as to the whereabouts of the hostages.

British government agreed with Nigerian authorities to launch rescue mission (from reading between the lines it appears it was the Nigerians who pushed the British as they kept saying time was running out)

Nigerian forces including a Nigerian army tank with British SBS carried out the attack, Nigerian forces leading the attack. the gunfight lasted for hours, (sahara reporters were already reporting that Nigerian army had surrounded a house in Sokoto before anyone knew the full scale of events)

It is reported that the hostages were killed before the strike force entered the building, but unamed Nigerian security spokesperson says they might have been caught in 'crossfire'.

At least 3 Boko Haram killed and 3 captured alive at the scence.

Now what is so difficult to believe in this turn of events?

Information must have leaked in the course of their initial raid during which they obtained their so-called "credible information". On NTA NewsLine, Cynthia's Mum in Jos said that she was surprised when her daughter called her on the 22nd July to tell her she had arrived Lagos safely to clear goods for her boutique that had arrived from Overseas. It was a surprise to the mum because Cynthia was supposed to be in school, Nassarawa State University where she was doing her master’s degree in public admin. A day after talking with Cynthia on the phone, the Mum once again called her but this time around it was a Man that answered the phone and told her that her daughter was sick and was in the Hospital. The mum believing that her daughter had been kidnapped reported the matter to the local police station in Jos and alerted relations in Lagos that her daughter was missing. The father’s testimony on TV made it clear that he believed their daughter had been kidnapped and were waiting to get the ransom demand. After 2 weeks of putting pressure on the Man with Cynthia’s phone, the guy yielded and told them to forget their daughter since she was already dead. It will appear that was what shocked the Dad, a retired general, into action to put pressure on the police to take the case seriously.
There are many things wrong with what we are hearing. The kidnappers of course have confessed to the killing of Cynthia but there are several things they have lied about. We all know some of the biggest ploy employed by 419 is to inform their victims that goods have arrived for them from overseas and their victims should bring the cash to clear them. I myself have received many calls from 419 claiming to be long lost friends from London and are sending valuable goods from Overseas which they want me to travel to Lagos and clear and help them sell it and remit some of the money to them, keeping my fat commission. I believe when the Killers knew Cynthia’s line of business they deceived her into coming to Lagos to clear some goods which they claimed to have ordered. One of the Killers claimed he paid for her flight ticket. This is false. 419 will not pay 30k for a lady to come to Lagos. If they had, they would have been at the Airport to pick her up and drive her to her hotel which they would have also booked for her. As it is, it was only after she arrived the hotel, booked a room for herself, that she called them and the CCTV evidence caught them going into the Hotel room with nothing and coming out with a big package.
The Killers claimed to have drugged her with rohypnol and had to tie her up when she came out of it. This cannot be true. Rohypnol is call the date-rape drug because it knocks their victims out for a minimum of 5 hrs and during that time it causes amnesia, ie memory loss, so that the victim has no idea that she had been raped. Some victims actually find themselves pregnant without knowing how it happened. If they had used rohypnol on Cynthia, there was just no way she would have come out of it and struggled with them. My opinion is that when they came to her hotel room she probably instantly suspected they ware fakes and probably refused to cooperate with them. Then they probably knocked her out unconscious and tied her up with the tape they came along with. Then the raped her to dead. As for the presence of the condoms in the hotel room, you might be surprise to learn that even rapists are scared of catching HiV since they do not know the sexual history of their victims. And as for the presence of the Virginal Vibrator which they claimed was brought by Cynthia, it is clear that experience would have taught the killers that the best sex is had if a woman is moist. A woman becomes moist only if she gives herself willingly, she loses the moisture if she is forced or becomes unconscious. The rapist can always use Vaseline but it is no substitute for the natural moisture. A vibrator is a very powerful genital massager; it will induce moisture even if a woman is unconscious under the influence of rohypnol or alcohol.

The mortuary that accepted the corpse no doubt would not have missed the fact that it was a murder case. What did the police do to track the murderers initially and what effort was made to trace the identity of the corpse?
It appears to me the hotel and some cops probably covered up the murder. The time for the police to start investigating the murder was when the hotel sent the corpse to the mortuary. That’s when they should have looked at the CCTV footage provided by the hotel and picked up the killers. In that way it would have been the police that would have notified the general of the demise of his daughter and not the killer after 2 weeks of Cynthia’s disappearance. And why is it that up till now the police have refused to release the name of the hotel to the press? Probably because money has exchanged hands and to re-cover up the initial cover-up.
Many aspects of the case have been hidden to us. It would appear that it was when the General heard that his daughter was dead that he initiated a search for her corpse which was eventually traced to an unnamed mortuary in Lagos. The records in the mortuary would have shown it was deposited by staff of a particular hotel and the hotel’s CCTV (thank God they have one) would have pointed to the killers.
Instead of glossing over their “Success”, the Police should be asking itself several questions. If the general was a man of little means, it would have been impossible for him to organize a search in ALL the Mortuaries in Lagos to try to identify his daughter’s corpse. Besides, having found the corpse, the police might then not pursue the case further. It’s on record from several families that whenever a murder of a loved one is reported the first thing the police does is demand money for an autopsy so that the cause of the murder can be established; it had even once happened when the victim had been shot in error by a mobile policeman…despite the fact that any fool could see the man had died of gunshots the police still demanded money for autopsy. So if Cynthia were from a poor family her corpse would have remained forgotten in an unknown mortuary to be eventually handed over to medical students for anatomy dissection practice. As it is, her father is a retired powerful General with the means to search and with powerful friends to breathe down on the neck of the police.
I hope the Press will thoroughly investigate this story and let us know exactly what happened.

At the time I posted my comments there was no thread concerning the Cynthia's case on Naira Land and this was the closest criminal post to it, and I did not want to start a new thread.
