new uniform ke? this is akin to Fashola building megacity without working on infrastructure and other more critical issues first. Misplaced priorities...typical of Nigerian government institutions |

Contray to what some comments here potray, this will not be the regular daily uniform for the Nigerian police. It is just one of their operational uniforms. |

Whether they wear pant or singlet to work is not the issue. What matters is their service delivery, character and diligence. This is another misplaced priority! |

That will not change their attitude. |
Re: Behold, Nigeria's New Police Uniform - See Pix by andrewza: 11:29am On Mar 14, 2012 |
For a operational uniform for use by specialist units it is a good choice. And pockets are imported. I would not think that this is a good choice for every day patrols in the city. It is to aggressive and may give a a bad image. For that a plain uniform like blue on blue is a better idea. |

Looks intimidating - a combination of military, navy and mopol - you better think twice about roja-ing N50. you will receive some royal butt-kicking |

Well friends, if this is true, am happy for that. Lets us not criticize this move and that is why the european are better than we africans. Change is always good and maybe they are trying to rebrind the nigeria police force. They have bad name and that is why, they need changes. But the changes has to be more than these. Public relation, response to emergency, bribe and corruption, lies, protection of lives, and geniue respect for civilians are all changes needed. I have witnessed first hand lies to by a police when i was in enugu doing hard hard work. I was carring a sheet of pan for a customer to his selling destination when police officers stoped us and ask the man to bring receipt of sheet of pan not more than 30 pieces. I was astonished because no where on earth will you be givin receipt for buying pan and according to the man, he bought them different places. The other policer ask us to go but one of them insist we go to police station and ask one to take us there. But to my gresatest surprise, on reaching there, he policer officer accompaning us told the DPO(because the DPO ask why such man carring these things should be brought here) that they ask the man to bring receipt and he started to abuse them curse them and intimadate them to the point that they can't bear it and that is why he was brought here. I was very deversatated and because i was a boy then, i started crying thinking that both me and him will be put in cell because of the lies of the fellow. I can't forget these incident and even have a more bad story of first hand bad things police did that i wiynessed but their may not be any neewd to tell those now because e look forward to the future and we hope that changes in nigerian police force will bring better things for us all. |

I THINK THESE PEOPLE WORKING IN THIS ADMINISTRATION ARE JUST SENSELESS AND DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO, IS IT THE UNIFORM THAT MAKES THEM TAKE BRIBE? OR IS IT THE UNIFORM THAT MAKES THEM ROB PEOPLE? IS IT UNIFORM THAT MADE THE POLICE CORRUPT AND LAWLESS. THEY SHOULD FIRST CHANGE THE CORRUPT UNIFORM THEY HAVE IN THEIR MIND. POLICE THAT COULD NOT MAINTAIN THE BLACK UNIFORM , WILL NOW MAINTAIN THE ONE THAT HAS WHITE AND BLUE ? |

To me the new uniform is not bad, but to earn citzen respect, they must as well change their bad attitudes towards the citizens of this country. |

Re: Behold, Nigeria's New Police Uniform - See Pix by oiseworld: 12:42pm On Mar 14, 2012 |
wat kind of uniform is that? Military uniform. Not good at all. A change is welcomed but not to this one. A plain colour uniform is ok. |
Re: Behold, Nigeria's New Police Uniform - See Pix by Nobody: 12:48pm On Mar 14, 2012 |
What is the essence of new uniform without moral reforms? Somebody should tell our Police that what Nigerians need from them now is not new uniform but a change in their attitude. They should stop all forms of extra judicial killings, stop collecting bribe to corrupt justice and face the issue of fighting crime with greater resolve. These are what Nigerians want from the Police and not another uniform, whether camouflage or not. I totally opposed this waste of public fund in the name of new uniform. |

Oh my God! It'll be a license for the current men in black to start behaving like soldiers. The aim is to intimidate us. We are in real trouble here! I agree with you totally. In fact when i first saw the uniform, the first thought that came through my mind was also the same as you. |
Re: Behold, Nigeria's New Police Uniform - See Pix by Fufuky: 1:30pm On Mar 14, 2012 |
Uniform is not the problem of Nigeria police, what they need is reform of Nigerian police force and re-training of there personnel not change of uniform. |
