Rad1cal:

Did you just say one local government ?

You simply do not even have a grasp of what went on during the last shambolic Lagos L.G.A election enforced by the ACN

To set the records straight . .the entire election was rigged in a fashion the notorious famed PDP rigging machinery would stand in awe .

A feat only the saintly ACN can achieve .

Please explain to us (as your tag team partner has gone AWOL) what baba and his mongrels did in ekiti, osun, ondo, edo, anambra etc.
Or was it Tinubu that rigged these states?
Obj is an old man with no conscience, else he won't have been mentoring bro bayo, uncle oyin, etc.

huptin: Obasanjo"s achivements speaks for itself, he literally brought the civil war to an end just 3 months after becoming the General Officer Commanding of the 3rd Marine Division,of the nigerian army, he rose to become the head of state and handed over to a democractically elected president, he was one of 5 five eminent persons in the world chosen by the UN, he won elections and ruled Nigeria again for another two terms, and agian handed over to another civilian, he is to date the only nigerian president to host an american president(in fact three Jimmy Carter,Bill Clinton and George Bush)
that is his personal achievement but how has these improved ordinary Nigerian lives? It suprises me that some people can still open their mouths to praise OBJ! He is the type of man that will say something now but will do another contrary to what he earlier said. He is a good betrayer. In 2003, he begged the AD because they were his kinsmen to support his 2nd term bid having not supported his 1st term bid but on the day of election, he visited Osoba at his home and even played AYO (ancient yoruba game) but unknowingly to the AD, PDP was rigging the election. I can go on with other examples of his treachery but i'll stop here. I just respect him cause he his old enough to be my father but aside that, i have lost all respect for him as a human being.

This is what Yoruba called "maja masa". OBJ has discovered that he is no more relevant from his political base (SouthWest) with ACN dominating the region coupled with the irreconciliable postures of PDP members in the region, the road to reclaiming SW is far. For those who understand the system, OBJ has noticed that 2015 would be tough for PDP. So Baba need to quit now b4 "kasala" finally bursts.

I don't know which crystal ball you gazed in to see such horrific sights, but I know nigeria will never descend so low as to regard obj as greater than the likes of Awo and Zik.
Wise man? Well wisdom is relative
So because a south south man became president when Obj was chairman pdp bot he has become a legend? I laff in arabic.
Even the S.S man "baba" installed has been a monumental failure, but what else do we expect from baba's puppet?

What silly role is that? The rebel leader,Laurent Nkunda,he was told to negotiate with(not dance with as OBJ did in the jungle with him) has since been captured. So,what else does he have to do there?HE HAS NOTHING TO DO.
Olalekan 0: Obasanjo is the United Nations Special Envoy to war-torn Congo and he's been excellently playing that role.

Gbawe:

Indeed. Folks who think OBJ is resigning for noble reasons should take a trip down memory lane. OBJ went out on a limb to assure aggrieved elements that GEJ would only use one term as President. He acted as the 'guarantor' of that pledge. In fact this was what swayed the like of Yuguda,Sule Lamido et al to get on board when they were previously against GEJ's ambition. All these guys 'simmered' down because they calculated that they would spend a second term as Governor and then run for the ultimate office. GEJ himself then went further, knowing that is what many wanted to hear, broadcasting it all over the place that he would only spend one term. At one stage he could not stop saying it everywhere.

With the emergence of Tukur, and the way GEJ bullied everyone out of the way to secure his 'win', it is now clear Jonathan wants to run in 2015. This is one treacherous act too many - even for OBJ the master of treachery himself. OBJ will know he cannot risk being part of a second act of treachery after the first perceived act of "ungentlemanly conduct" is still spilling so much blood. This is simply an act of self preservation. The problem is that Nigerians (1) are too quick to forget past event and (2)subsequently then fail to factor past events into current occurrences. It is crystal clear OBJ understands he must get out now or the "nest of killers" will become too hot for him.

My brother, further news seem to be bearing out the original supposition that Obasanjo does not want to be part of further treachery . With OBJ's resignation, he has tactfully shown the world he is now disconnected with anything GEJ does from here on.

North romances Obasanjo ahead 2015 • Reasons he resigned as PDP BoT chairman • New party to counter Jonathan on the way

The Northern intelligentsia and political leaders are now getting excited by the resignation of former President Olusegun Obasanjo

from the post of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees (BoT) chairman, and are more prepared to regain their groove with him on strategic reasons, Sunday Tribune can report.

Obasanjo, according to fresh findings, has been receiving different delegations from the North, both in Abuja and his Abeokuta home, since the news of his resignation as BoT chairman of the ruling party broke out, all ostensibly congratulating him for taking a “wise decision.”

Meanwhile, the unexplained reason behind Obasanjo’s sudden resignation from the mainstream network of the PDP, according to investigations, was not unconnected with his desire to detach himself from the inner caucus of the party in order to maintain a high measure of neutrality as countdown to 2015 election year, gathers momentum.

The new stance by the former president on politics, as explained, meant that he would no longer be rigidly committed to presidential aspiration of anyone, including that of President Goodluck Jonathan in 2015.

An old associate of the former president told Sunday Tribune in Abuja that Obasanjo had come of age in politics, and for that, had seen the necessity to sit back and review his active participation since 1998, while taking stock of how he had faired in his desire to put Nigeria on the path of greatness.

Obasanjo, the source disclosed, has not been totally happy that those he stuck out his neck for to attain power, including the late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua and the incumbent president, fully appreciated his efforts, much as they attempted to hold him in abeyance while they enjoyed power.

The North is, however, said to be keen on making Obasanjo maintain neutrality ahead of 2015 in its desire to tackle President Jonathan head long following the early campaign for his second term by his supporters.

According to findings, the North is of a strong belief that it could confidently handle Jonathan alone on the 2015 matters, whereas it may find it a bit difficult to do so in the event that Obasanjo steps in again to mobilise support for him, as he did to make him become acting president, then, a substantive president and finally, an elected president in 2011.

Obasanjo, it was learnt, is not desirous of dipping his hands in the murky politics of 2015 in line with a growing orchestra that the incumbent president should step into the ring for another trial, rather than honouring the initial agreement that he should have just one term in office.

The incumbent president rode on the crest of popular sentiment that the South-South deserved to be offered presidential power in 2011 to balance the power distribution equation in Nigeria, hence, the support he enjoyed from top political stakeholders in the country at the expense of the interest of the North to present the next president then.

When former President Yar’Adua died mid way into the expiration of his term in 2010, the desire by the North to fulfil his full term, in line with the existing zoning of political power, was truncated with agitation that Jonathan be given the chance, thus sparking the greatest controversy on zoning in Nigeria.

Obasanjo’s desire to relinquish the office of BoT of the PDP is said to be more predicated on the emergence of Alhaji Bamanga Tukur as national chairman of the party. He fully supported the candidacy of Tukur and that of national secretary of the party, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola.

Obasanjo, it was explained, believed that the duo of Tukur and Oyinlola have the wherewithal to hold the party effectively and with ability to resolve all contentious issues over 2015.

Indication that Obasanjo is now out to prove his neutrality in national politics could be noted with the manner he has been interacting freely of late with members of other political parties, including the leading opposition party, the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), just as his private visit to Edo State governor, Adams Oshiomhole, continues to generate more controversies in political circles in the country.

Investigations have also revealed that that the North has started making subtle moves to form a new political party as a counter force to the PDP towards 2015 in anticipation that supporters of President Jonathan would use the ruling party to promote his tenure elongation, even through constitution amendment.

Some PDP governors have started distancing themselves from the mainstream activities in the party as evident by the manner they reportedly frustrated the meeting called with them by the new leadership of the party last Thursday.
