I never said that the process has slowed down. Even humans are evolving. We are generally larger, our jaws are smaller and wisdom teeth not prominent etc

Humans aren't generally larger. Not at all. Neither are the jaws getting smaller. We are pretty much the same as our ancestors who lived thousands of years back. Note that I'm talking of the Homo sapiens sapiens species.

Macro-evolution is a slow process that can take thousands or millions of years to occur.

Conveniently closed to scrutiny. And can't be observed. BTW, common ancestral species are assumed, without inductive basis, from so-called transitional fossils. It also fails since many, if not most, fossils are of species alive today and hence it is more reasonable, and less speculative, to conclude that they are so-called transitional fossils are remains of extinct species, or are misinterpreted individual remains of species that still exist.
