By AbdulSalam Mohammad

Two professors were killed in the Sunday morning multiple blasts that rocked St Stephen Catholic Chaplain, Bayero University, Kano.

Vanguard gathered that the dons, Prof Ayodele of the Chemistry Department and Prof Andrew Leo of the Library Department, were among worshippers attacked at Theatre Two near Sport Complex, old Campus of the institution.

The university’s Public Relation Officer, Malam Zaharadeen, confirmed the death of the professors.

A member of the rescue team who pleaded anonymity told Vanguard that, “we have recovered 14 dead bodies so far and transfer same to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital.”

An eyewitness said those who survived the blasts ran into a ring of fire coming out of unknown gunmen that had taken position round the church building.

At the time of this report, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

The situation is really getting out of hand. The Nigerian government must stand up and fight this ugly face called Boko Haram rather than deny knowledge of thier where about because they are in our midst.

[size=16pt] Wasted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a setback to both the students, the University's Chemistry/Library Departments and Nigeria as a whole?

Two Professors of a Universtiy wasted for nothing, really.

Why are Northern so wasteful of our resources? Why?

There's nothing Nigeria could boast of, about the North contributing towards Nigeria's wellbeing aside - destruction, destruction and more destruction and looting here and there!

Isn't it time they break away from the rest of Nigeria and live their own quiet lives - and the way they want?

Nigerians, we've had enough and it's time something is done!

Now I'm getting pissed. These plonkers have now resorted to killing erudite scholars? What sort of government allows it's intellectuals to be killed and maimed by lowlifes. This is just unacceptable!!! We need to be proactive now. We need to be prepared!

ifeci: please why can't GEJ just resign and allow someone who is more competent and capable to handle Nigeria matter, we can't continue like this

he cannot resign becoz he is a greedy cunt besides that the boko haram problem is not sumtin only a president could handle.. It takes collective effort.. Boko haram is not fightin against marginalization, they are fighting the course they believe in with the hope of reward in heaven.. No nation or president has being able to fyt islam mujahedeen(islamic terrorists) and won.. They are people who are ready to die as long as they took more (infidels along)

i only blame jonathan weakness and low IQ to fyt against insecurity

^^^Indeed i'm starting to think this country really is cursed: what else do you expect from a country built (and i use the term 'built' quite loosely) and held together on the blood of millions of innocents (not just Igbo losses before, during and since the civil war) to throw up if not grief, murder, pestilence, disease, corruption, illiteracy and a vision of hell on earth?

For as long as we bury our heads in the sand, and refuse to acknowledge the wrongs of the past and lies of the present, i'm afraid we're only reading the 'contents' to what will turn out to be the worst horror story mankind will witness in the 21st century.

May the souls of the departed RIP.
