hituneu: can I change naria to dollar @ the bank.

Nigerian Banks ordinarily won't give such exchange except you can show a valid visa to a western Country and in need of BTA, or if you got a dormiciliary account and need to make a withdrawal. In any case, your best bet is to use bureau de change from a licensed dealer. You get them at the Airport. Their pips spread margin are usually on the high side though but definitely not as high as the embassy.

Yes bro. They attend to elderly and married folks first. I feel this is because they think children and old ppl will tire out... I made this conclusion because all married folks who came after me were interviewed before me...

It's safer to b at d embassy before 6 am... Cos the embassy opens by 6:30 or so. But by 6:30, they form queues- one line for immigrant visa applicants. The other line for Non-immigrants. So if u come by even 7 or past 7, u could b disorganised.

I don't know when d embassy closes- because I didn't stay until d end- but I noticed some ppl had appointments for 10 am.

I wish you d very best

My visa has been APPROVED!!!

And trust me- my testimony is one of d greatest you have ever heard... I'll give a very detailed account of my successful interview experience when I settle down...

God heard your prayers for me- and for that I can't thank you enough!

Congrats!!!!!

hituneu: Guys you have to help me on my own pls,I have been on this thread either asking questions or praying for those that are about to go for their interview, now I think its almost my turn, just this morning I received an email from kcc telling me by december interviews for my region would start,my case no is 70 plus, and I live and school @ cotonu where my husband lives, now the problem is what n what are we supposed to take for the interview plus what type of questions will they ask us?I didn't want to ask this cos I thougt if I ask no answer will come forth but with the way you guys are helping and praying for people on this thread its quite amazaming.I really want to travel out before the end of next cos I have a lot of reasons that I will share with you guys,my mom died when I was little and my dad didn't remarry,he was the only one who took pain to care for 3girls no family came to help us,just january this year he died,No family has ever called to ask how we are faring and the rest,NOw this would be an oppurnity to me if I can travel out so I and my sisters plus my husband would have a better life.So pls God people of Nigeria I need your help, advise and prayers on this,I won't this lottery to work for our favour.Am counting on you guys to help me with advise on how to do this so it won't go the wrong way.God bless you

GOD will grant you your heart desire, that your joy may be full, Amen!

Ibracadabra:

Yes I went wit my secondary school testimonial- but No, they didn't ask for it... It appears tht your WAEC certificate is enough...

They didn't ask for d photocopy of my "police character certificate" either..

I observed that married ppl and elderly ppl were attended to fi
rst- irrespective of d time they came in. So we needed to wait for em...

I also observed that one married couple that got their visa had many lil kids- I don't know- but I feel kids all wearing d same uniform- and u carrying them while being interviewed could b advantageous to couples...

The fee is still N54,500 is you are paying in Naira.

For those like me- who have plans of spending christmas in d US... I have been making flight inquiries and I recently saw an Air Maroc flight for N139,000 to JFK New york... Their offices are in Victoria Island and at the Murtala Mohd Airport. You can use google or wakanow.com for further inquiries.

My sincere gratitude to everybody here who has wished me well and said prayers on my behalf; May God bless you and grant your heart's desires.

I'm sorry about Michy's case. I think I saw him and his wife- even though I'm not sure it was them. I'll advice that he sticks to Temmy's and Gentinger's advice on more details of his denial. There could b a way to launch it back on track- especially since sept 2013 is still a while away.

There is no doubt that d interviews are stricter for couples than for singles- mayb this because of d sullied reputation that precedes Nigerians. Because those guys don't believe anything you say unless u have unquestionable proof. But for singles- all u need to prove is your certificate, period! Just convince em you earned that certificate and that's it.

I thought those who got interviewed last week were joking about d lady on window 13- but trust me- that lady is an angel- always smiling and I can't remember her denying anybody (of course it doesn't mean she hasn't)... Yest when I got interviewed; I believe it was her on window 14- not 13... Because 13 was one black american lady who I can't recall smiling and window 15 was a black man who was ok- but mayb not too friendly

Michy sounds like a ghanian.I wish him well

No, I won't accept this. Most African banks have bureau de change like first bank. Even if you go to any bank that have Western Union, They will exchange naira to dollar for you. Its just going to be on the higher price than from the Aboki's.

When you or anyone else in this forum succeeds in changing our local currency across the counter in any bank within Nigeria other than the way earlier specified, pls let the house know. It's much easier to accept as authentic anything given by the Bank.

At times you just play calm. It's for the forumites to do independent research of their own. No Nigerian Bank will give you Dollar across the counter in the manner specified by Yusmash. Thanks Temmy.

So sorry for this disturbance. Let me speak to you like a lawyer.

The CO merely told you of your chances before an arbitration panel. It means If you got sufficient documentary evidence to prove your case beyond a reasonable doubt then you can resort to it.

If you are certain there is nothing fraudulent in your marriage relationship, you may spend some bucks to institute a legal proceeding to address the temporary denial. Be sure you have your facts straight because you could earn yourself a ban for life if indeed your marriage is fraudulent.

I am open to further questions offline if you choose, as legal matters are not treated on a public forum as this.
Gentiger please can you provide your email please?

Your visa will be valid for six months from the date of issue. In your case, the sixth month from January is June. It's either you forfeit the exam and proceed on your journey or you travel to activate your green card and return to write your exam.
