It is well my Bros.Our Timing in most cases is not in line with Gods timing for us.But one thing am sure is that God has the best plan for each of us.At the appointed time u will leave this shores if thats ur destiny.

Pls I didn't say he should get a new passport in US, cos in d first place d CO will not even issue a visa on dat passport since it didn't meet the basic requirement of validity, so there is no way he can enter US wit dat passport. Rather I said he should ve it cancelled by Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) n a new one issued BEFORE he attends his interview in May.

I think my current passport still meet the basic requirement if only I travel in June or earlier which is possible though. Just that I'm thinking of staying a little longer in Naija. A colleague of mine on the other hand is telling me not to bother changing it since it's not possible to renew it now (legally speaking). That in July, I can get a new passport then and attach to the old one with visa. What do u think? Go with this option or go with cancelling the old one and getting the new one if it's legal?

My e-fam i know its been a while i checked into dis place, abeg no be my fault nah water wan pass garri. Devil be wan show himfelf but God pass am.

Remember i had my interview on the 10th of April, i got a call a day later tellin me 2 com and sign a form ds230 which i 4got to sign durin my interview. I signed the form on 17th April den i was instructed 2 collect my visa a week later at the colection centre, got there a week later and i was told dat my visa is nt yet ready, ghen ghen, nah dere d pressure beging start, with different dirty thoughts on my mind.. But i thank God i got my Visa 2day.. Still on my way home from d collection centre but gotta let my e-fam know that oti set ... Thank u call for everything

He heeded to my advice and guess what- His wife won: family of 4. We were classmates at UJ for a postgraduate programme in 2008. Baba Sege, Congrats!!

I also played for like 41 different persons including families and singles. Unfortunately, all of them lost(except this my friend). I started asking myself a question: He was actually the only one I recommended to a particular photostudio for passport photo; probably, God just favoured him!! When I played for others last year, I actually had to pay to learn photoshop and with a passion I played freely for many and wished them luck. I used my digi cam and white background in my sitting room to do all these. Anyway, I think I shouldn't ask myself too many questions!

The reason for asking is dat I have asked the guy that helps me secure passport to make enquiry and he said they can renew for me but for a price (addtnal 10k to make 27k, another one said 35k).Thanks for ur prompt response.

My dear a passport dat is yet to expire cannot be renewed but can be cancelled for one reason or the other. It is legal and becos of naija factor it will definitely cost u some naira.

Well, my answer was based on d fact u said u intend travelling in November. I think ur friend's suggestion is ok but u ve to consider d risk of too many people handling a passport dat has a valid US visa stamped in it, d visa could be tampered wit....hope not....however, cancellation of passport is LEGAL.
Have it at d back of ur mind dat d CO may ask u of ur intended date of entry into the US just to raise the issue of d validity of ur passport.
I stil advise dat u do d cancellation before ur interview, dat is if there is still enough time and becos of naija factor, it will definitely cost u some money.

I had a personal experience at the last point of check-in before boarding. one of the immigration officers stopped me and asked for my passport and I presented it to her and after checking my passport she withheld it and asked me to pay some money, in my mind I thought she was just begging like the others (NDLEA & Customs), who searched my luggage did, I told her sorry that I have exhausted the Naira I had, that It is only the Dollars I have with me and its in higher denomination. she then said they collect $100 from people like us that are travelling for the first time and it is non negotiable, and that if I don't pay the money, that they won't let me cross that point. at that point my blood started boiling cos my departure time was near and the lady was looking very serious. Then I raised my voice on her and because I new my right and when she saw the way I was talking, she was scared and handed over my passport to me and I proceeded.
lets just be wise. thank God you asked this question because some may have fallen victims of this extortions and others may steal fall except the have gotten this information or really know their right.
May God help us to sanitize our country from all these corrupt practices.
