Johnsinia: All of u dat r blaming d driver, have u heard frm d driver wat happened? Do u know wat happened 2 d trailler on dat day? Or do u only belive wat u read on paper or nairaland.am sure d driver did nt block d rd intentnally,it may be dat d trailler broke down n u guys r here cruxifying d driver.one day it may b u o,ur vehicle will just brake down in d middle of alausa secretarant n we all here(in NL) will b jubilating ur sentence 2 prison.
One tin i ve discover in brf region is robbery by tricks,he uses council, kia, lasma etc 2 do his dirty work,i am sayin ds frm wat i knw and ve witness.A friend of mine was arrestd 4 nthing by kia 2gada with moredan 100 other guys n was taken 2 their office at alausa.they were charge 10k bill, imagine.i went there and i discovered dat brf was aware of all ds atrocity(ways of generating money to lagos state).no wander any small tin dey will arrest u and den place u on bill.I concur with d trailler driver dat wat was all d charges level against him is false,he is nt guilty.think abt it,the driver was taken 2 prison bc he culd nt pay 20k(ways of generatin money 2 brf).2morrow it may b ur turn 2 b victimise unless u dnt ve a vehicle.

What you have written here is pure fallacy and wild speculations! What are you sure of? shocked Did it happen in your presence?

alj harem: Very good work by BRF

It is a common occurrence in Lagos when some mumu would just block the road all in the name of "no law" causing hours of traffic.

This same thing happened in Owerri as one of the Power Bike riders escorting Gov. Rochas was hit by a Jeep to the extent of been unconscious and was rushed to the hospital. The Governor stopped to know the true cause of the accident and to hear the Jeep driver side of the story. To cut the story short the man told the Governor that he was passed by the security light which was still showing green.

That was all, no arrest, no detention, and no question like didn't you hear the siren, the man continued his journey

I hear you! Is blocking the road same as ramming into a traffic light violating governor's escort? These are poles apart, i am sure if these Fashola's security details were some from other states they would have opened fire on the broken down truck with the excuse that it could have been a road block set up to attack or kidnap the escorted person (Governor). Fact is the offender was arrested only based on lacking those valid documents and the only hyped it to sell their paper with Fashola's name as the 'CATCH' if you understand what i mean.

Beaf: Fashola is working hard to spoil his good name. First doctors, now this?
I recall people being exercised, cos a man that drove out of a side street at fierce speed and willfully rammed his car into GEJ's convoy was charged to court (even though he is the President, compared to a mere governor).
Absolute bullshiit.

In a civilized society, no sane human being will obstruct an expressway with a vehicle, not to even talk of a trailer and a driver without driver’s licence and vehicle’s particulars, i dont also think any sane human being should defend this useless driver, it doesn't matters if its Fashola or not, he is the chief security officer of the state, if he didn't arrest this rogue driver and charge him to court, who will, is it you and I, shouting at him to remove his brakeless trailer....come on guys...lets call a spade a spade..countless souls have been lost due to reckless driving and indiscriminate parking of this unchecked trailer drivers.

Who is Beaf? Does he use 2 version of world?

You people scream and holler about how you want change. When change comes, then Fashola is now the bad guy.

From the newspaper article, the guy was blocking a freeway with his trailer, and could not produce his license or vehicle registration. Some of you folks overseas, say oh If he were in Florida or some other part of the US, He would only get a ticket. Nonsense!. If you are driving without registration/driver's license/obstructing the road, they would impound your car and take you to jail. Then you would meet the judge in the morning and get a hearing, and then the Judge sets bail conditions.

A friend of mine, once drove my car without a license, and got into an accident. She called me and I was 3 minutes away from the scene. I got there in under 5 minutes, and they impounded the car, even though I was there. He could have arrested her on the spot, and he would have been right. The only reason he didn't do it was because I begged him, and to protect himself he impounded the car.

Shout out to Fashola for arresting that bagger.

interesting debate, the truth be told the driver was wrong.
Those against fashola can be group into 4,
a)HEADLINERS;these are d set tht read d headline alone & conclude tht d govt was wrong...d driver has nt been jailed yet as d case was adjourned till JUNE 6th,still this set screamed tht fashola jailed d driver..for d headliners how many yr/months or days was d driver jailed?

b)AGGRIEVED DOC;these are d sacked doctors & their sympatisers who had vow never 2 see anything good in fashola, otherwise will these doctors say they dont know its and offence 2 blocked public road, drive without licence or vehicle paper? or will they (who are always in hurry) prefer been held in traffic cos by a societal nuisance?

c)PDP;of course we all know that oppossing political camp will want 2 use every opportunity 2 discredit their rival..(d honest man will always alter is idea 2 suit d truth,y d dishonest man will alter d truth 2 suit his idea)

d)IGNORANT;these set dont know anything about their right,or d rule of law.they only react base on their emotion.somebody was accuse of voilating d law, prosecuted appropraitly, case not yet conclude still d ignorant shout blue murder.

But to be sent to prison? A ticket would have sufficed.
To answer your question we all know what our wicked and self centered attitude has don to Nigeria . If you have a clue on how many promising souls this wicked truck drivers has sent to early grave you would understand issuing him a ticket is a time wasting thing. Let him be a lesson to other truck drivers who shares his view and outlook on life.

The topic grossly contradict the story line, let me make it clear that he( the driver) wasn't sent to jail as alledged but remanded in custody for not being able to meet bail terms.
Next time he will try his hardest to stay/act within the confines of the law.

constantk: Its interesting to note that someday, someway we will get to the promise land as a nation. The recklessness on our road had claimed many lives.two years ago i lost a honda accord car at 5star busstop along apapa oshodi express way when a commercial bus suddenly stopped on the expressway to pick passengers. However, the goovt had left area boys to torment lagosian so long that we are used to them. Imaging the number of death recorded during the frequent clashes on the island yet fashola turned blind eyes to this. The arrest and Prosecution of this man though a welcome development but it is because he does not have godfather like the rest. Fashola shld wake up and stop this selective judgement. If it had not happened to him everything goes. God help us
Double faced or what would you call yourself? What ingenuity?
