Wenger:

Dear Arsenal supporter,

Some people have said that Wayne Rooney was the difference between the two sides on Sunday but I don't agree. I feel we had early chances in the first half which we didn't take and after that I believe Manchester United were sharper than us.

Physically they had the edge after the first half-an-hour and I believe that made a big difference. On the first goal we lost the ball in our half and after it was 1-0 we missed two great chances, one for Van Persie and one for Adebayor.

I left Thierry Henry out of the starting line-up because he had not recovered from Wednesday night's game. He was not injured but he has played more games than the other players and he played on his own up front against Juventus twice.

But I don't think Thierry being on the bench was a major factor in us losing the game. The game is not about those who sit on the bench, and we have lost at Old Trafford with Thierry on the pitch as well.

I think it is important to do the right things in the game, and we did not concede a goal because Thierry was sitting on the bench. It is always easy to look at the game like that but you have to analyse it like it happened, and United deserved to win because they were sharper.

Basically, in a big game you must score first if you want to win. You cannot lose a goal like we lost the first one and expect to win the game.

We were jaded on Sunday and the result certainly diminishes our chances of finishing fourth. However, it is still in our hands mathematically. We are five points behind Tottenham with a game in hand, we still have to play them at home and they also have some difficult games.

It is open but of course we want to win every game. Our problem is that we have fixture congestion with the Champions League games and we paid the price a little bit against United.

In previous years we could afford to drop the odd point and still qualify for the Champions League, but this season were are in a worse league position so there is less margin for error.

Thanks for your support.

thats my coach.

unlike mourinho who will blame linesman, referee, uefa, fifa , caf, pitch , everything he can think of.

gunners we are always graceful even in defeat.

MANCHESTER UNITED you have won the battle but not the war.

WE shall be in paris

@Vieria

What is the meaning of this your comment?

I have not said anything about the match, i will still not say anything.

If Chelsea or Manchester United Lost Important match like that and i posted Jose's comment or BolaOni posted Baba Alex comment, what is Nairaland(Gunners) going to say?

Thats is exactly what i am saying?

If Jose or Baba Alex misbehave both United and blues will fault him but if Professor Wenger falter he is blameless, he is an angel.

Is this Arrogancy or Confidence?

@Vieria

Did you get my mail?

@NightRider

You no get Email address, no yahoo IM, nothing. If i want to link you up with OBJ for 3rd term project, how i go do that? grin
Re: Arsenal Vs Manutd April 9 by Priscila(f): 11:47am On Apr 11, 2006
Gunners you still made us proud. With Igwe missing and we managed a 50% ball possession in their own ground.

This shows when the young guns mature all will suffer in their hands.

We are through on this thread and lets focus somewhere else.

Man U are position 2 whether they make robbots to play or Involve Dinho.
Re: Arsenal Vs Manutd April 9 by Vieira(m): 1:08pm On Apr 11, 2006
@Kola

which mail? I no see am o.

and which comment are you asking about Kola? Wengers comments?

He no talk well?
Re: Arsenal Vs Manutd April 9 by Akolawole(m): 1:11pm On Apr 11, 2006
@Vieria

I sent you mail few days ago.

I am not against Wenger's comment but i am directing the question to Gunners that if i or BolaOni posted similar comments, what are you people going to say?
Re: Arsenal Vs Manutd April 9 by Vieira(m): 1:16pm On Apr 11, 2006
I will not attack anyone for posting a managers comments.

I may attack the comments itself which is fair game.

I posted Wenger's comments so that we can see what his thoughts on the game were and how it tallys with the comments by us fans.

no harm intended and anyone who wants to fire Wenger or me is very welcome.

But be warned as Priscilla has told you all, we are the Arsenal, full of weapons.

Any fire will be returned 1000 times!!

Come on you gooners!
Re: Arsenal Vs Manutd April 9 by Vieira(m): 1:18pm On Apr 11, 2006
@Kola, u mean about the mail moderator thing? I saw it.
Re: Arsenal Vs Manutd April 9 by Jackal(m): 1:26pm On Apr 11, 2006
@ Vieira,
Shameless Gooners.
Its a pity u can still voice out after the embarrassing defeat suffered on sunday.
Man Utd thrashed Gunners and it was convincing.
When Arsenal defeated Juventus 3 weeks ago,we all knew how u guys were getting hysteric about the whole thang but its diferent now cos u guys lost to ur rivals.
Ya talk is cheap and i'm sure Wenger lost his initiative. His comment after the match holds no water. No one cares if Henry or Fabregas got tired. Why use tired players in the 1st place?
Teams like Man Utd and Porto have won double and even treble without complaints of fatigue and injuries.
A loss is a loss and there's no 2 ways about it.

Arsenal aint full of any weapons. They only run mouths and when it gets to the big stage,the team falters.
The team always struggle to push it beyond the finish line.
Y'all lots should go back and re-structure ur team so u can make Europe and at least reach the finals of UEFA.
Re: Arsenal Vs Manutd April 9 by Akolawole(m): 2:09pm On Apr 11, 2006
My advice to Arsenal to concentrate more in Premiership.

Champions league is a funny competition, at times its abracadabra.

Arsenal have the capability of winning their remainning premiership matches if they choose to.

Known Enemy is better than unknown angel

Paris may or may not be a REALITY.
Re: Arsenal Vs Manutd April 9 by Priscila(f): 3:19pm On Apr 11, 2006
Akola and Jackal!

I ve posted your own chelsea and Man U subject for April 29 start battling there and leave us in-situ!

Jackal: its not all the time gunners use guns, at times cease fire comes through peace-keeping
So why want to rattle gunners again when we have vowed to keep peace here!
Remember its not over until its over! you are to face Chelsea soonest!
Accept we have the weapons all models atarting with igwe himself.  eeeh
Re: Arsenal Vs Manutd April 9 by nightrider: 3:22pm On Apr 11, 2006
kola you go kill me with laughter. grin grin grin grin grin

paris is not arrogancy , it is confidence.

read wengers comments, he doesn't blame referee, unlike mourinho.

we will win our remaining league matches and also win UEFA

Re: Arsenal Vs Manutd April 9 by Jackal(m): 4:42pm On Apr 11, 2006
@ Skintite,
I am happy u can finally come out after the show of shame of ur team on sunday.
Coming out after 48 hours shows more cowardness than confidence but i ma give u a benefit of doubt.
Take it or leave it. Man U is superior and will forever be superior to Arsenal from all departments of the game.

Make sure u win ur match 2mrw then we can start sharing views on ur UCL next season.
I back Pompey to snatch a draw tomorrow.
It takes time for Arsenal to always recover wheneva they suffer a defeat after a long run of success.

Re: Arsenal Vs Manutd April 9 by bagoma(f): 7:45pm On Apr 11, 2006
jackal is still celebrating what must have been a surprise victory for him.

Re: Arsenal Vs Manutd April 9 by lordimpaq(m): 8:15pm On Apr 11, 2006

Re: Arsenal Vs Manutd April 9 by Jackal(m): 8:57pm On Apr 11, 2006
I am jubilating cos my team won.
Had Arsenal won,u guys wld have done worse. U celebrated ur victory over Madrid and Juventus for weeks so why cant i?
I never had a doubt we wld win the match so it aint a surprise victory.
What r u guys hollerin about? Whose bizznizz is it if i jubilate from London to Langtang?
Y'all guys should take a hike.

@Skintite,
Lehmann claimed Rooney's boots had a magnet that seem to trap the ball just before he scored.
Do u think so?
Re: Arsenal Vs Manutd April 9 by beyunce(f): 9:00pm On Apr 11, 2006

Up till now, i have not say anything about your match at Old Tratford.

Re: Arsenal Vs Manutd April 9 by Jackal(m): 9:23pm On Apr 11, 2006
Thank U Akola.
Those Gunners r jealous we r still celebrating.
They felt Arsenal r unbeatable and United did it with ease.
It was so easy i cldn't believe we were 2 goals up against Arsenal.

Maybe we should end the thread.
Lets save em more taunts and teases.
