Sky Blue: This trite is depressing, as it has ALWAYS been. And yes he could have easily gone home to remove evidence or make phonecalls, but unless the next piece of news is dismissal or prosecution of officers involved we don't want to know. The issue remains $17 billion subsidy probe

Nigerians if you let yourself be distracted from this then you deserve everything you get. We heard of billions of dollars spent on power during OBJs tenure and did nothing even with little improvement in power. Are we forever goinmg to remain cowards?
Well said. But have you heard anywhere in d world where d executive that handles all the cash self-regulate itself? Therefore u need a strong and corrupt-free legislature. The executives will continue to steal for as long as they know that the legislators are no saints. The legislators must earn the respect. So, we must put presure on the Legislators first, and then they can put genuine presure on the executives. A THIEF CANOT CATCH A THIEF

What pressure has been put on the legislature? What pressure has ever been put on the legislature? Better yet, of all the many scandals that have apparently "rocked" the house, how many reps or senates have ended up prosecuted and in jail? Where is Bankole today? The fact that the scrawny Farouk is a thief does not negate the fact that we are being taken for a ride, PERIOD!

Until people can start instigating recalls of reps or senators they are not happy with, or people are ready to occupy NASS, do not tell me we about putting "pressure" on the house. Just you wait, let us watch as history repeats itself YET AGAIN!! Next year another scandal, another probe, another probe scandal, and the probe of original scandal disappears yet again, with absolutely NO CHANGE whatsoever.

And when you talk of the "corrupt house", call names. Because "corrupt house" does not mean a darn thing. Start educating yourself on who is who in the house, it is a good start.

It's not a new thing to hear abt the Nigerian Police because the seed of corruption has been deeply rooted in the system of our Police Force. I have already seen it coming frm the begining that the police are waiting for their own part of the money collected by Farouk Lawan... Oh God help us...

FXKing2012: Some senior police officers would face the police disciplinary panel for allegedly allowing former chairman of the House of Representatives ad hoc committee on fuel subsidy Farouk Lawan who was detained over alleged $620, 000 bribery scandals to sneak out of the police detention facility and go home.
Lawan sneaked out of the police headquarters on Thursday night while in detention with the aid of some policemen and went home. He took bath at home and ate dinner before returning to his cell. Already three policemen were being questioned over the matter.

A source said about two senior officers apart from those being investigated who were found to have a hand in the matter, will face disciplinary panel.

He said Forouk was illegally allowed to go home while in detention.

The police Special Task Force investigating the matter are yet to retrieve the bribe money.

i thought so myself, are the lower house members covered by the immunity clause? if not, then the sting operation version is Bullsh!!t

like we know already, otedola and Obj are friends and Jonathan can be one by proxy.

otedola bribes Farouk like every serious business man not to indict his company,
otedola pays the bribe and collects much evidence to protect himself from the devils in the house, in case farouk reneges.

few days later he calls his friend Jonathan and ask him how the evidence will be useful, Jonathan activates the cohesive security apparatchik to protect otedola and nail farouk.

this will end thus;

Jonathan will pursue farouk to the end, while in incarceration, Jonathan will leak to the media that farouk confessed that he removed a lot of companies from the list because they paid bribe, of course, his conviction will paint it as true.

Jonathan will order for a fresh investigation with a fresh committee/panel outside the house and the matter will die a natural death.

that way, ACN,CPC, SNG will be happy that one subsidy pawn has fallen while the bigger thief (otedola) walks.

i laugh at the sting operation version.

All that is required for a successful sting operation is to get the required evidence after which security agents move in to arrest everyone involved and secure evidence, that wasn't the case here.

the bribe has been paid long time ago but Jonathan needs to protect Otedola by painting him a whistle blower to escape prosecution.

Yer...itz not far-fetched from our stereotyped predictions on this issue. Don't forget its "SAME PEOPLE; SAME GAME", but let's watch d movie unfold. One thing is certain and I have this strong convinction that "ITS ALL COMING TO AN END"....I neither know the "how" nor the "when", but till then "Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria" so we all could witness it happening live in the entity "Nigeria"; I mean...the practical supremacy of the Rule of Law...yer its very near, so so near..!!!
Re: Farouk Lawan Sneaked Out Of The Police Headquarters by uncleb(m): 5:01pm On Jun 20, 2012
Nonsense.

Whats all this balderdash? how long shall we be taken for granted in this Nation?

1. Some idiots and wicked fellows milked our national treasury dry, abusing the subsidy scheme.

2. Some trusted people were sent to investigate all participators.

3. One of those sent on investigation mission went pursuing his own selfish interest conniving with some demons to escape justice

4. He was apprehended and delivered to good for nothing police

5. He escaped from police custody.

6. The main who facilitated his escape would be tried. We will hear that he has been dismissed.

7. Years later the officer who was reported to have been dismissed will become Commissioner of police

8. When another criminal escape, we would be told that the officer in charge has actually been dismissed 12 years ago.

And so the story continues.

We all knows that nothing work in Nigeria except our so called bad leaders,no security,no job,no road,no electricity even we cannot keep a suspect that is been in police custody,we can see that we are really practicing a true democracy. In the western world if a suspect is in their custody the suspect must be investigated before releasing such person but in Nigeria the reverse is the case, even they think they are cheating us but they should know that they will have to judge by our God.May GOD bless Nigeria and save us all from the bad leaders {amin}.

Are there no wise lawyers and freedom fighters in the country Nigeria, to ask for the resignation of the IGP? Are there no smart, wise and intelligent lawyers, political and social activists in Nigeria to sue the IGP to court for violation of law.
Is there any difference between what happened to the former IGP that was forced to resigned before this acting IGP?
Did the 2 of them not commit the same offense?
Nigerians,WAKE UP FROM YOUR SLUMBER ooooooooooooooo Nigeria as a Nation,is bigger than the movie and drama we are watching.
