It depends actually. Children whose mum are busy or working class starts school very early. But when the mum is less busy or stay at home mum, then I really see no reason why a child below 3yrs will be put into school. When most babies below 3yrs hardly talk let alone communicate. And besides most pre nursery are just 8am-12pm just 4 hours unless you make arrangement for after school services. What are they even learning sef? Nothing mostly nursery rhymes. Waste of money i must say. Unless of course you are on the buoyant side then you have no issues.

My daughter started school 22m, I'm a SAHM
She learnt many things, she can socialize, count and write 1-10, recognize some colors, say Aunty etc
All these I tried teaching her on my own but she refused to listen maybe because I'm mummy.
Is not about being buoyant or not, is choice of the parents.
Small small with the advice please

Chei! So sorry o mama. Hope he did not crash on his head. Crashing on the head can cause brain injury without external wound. Few babies who crashed with their head end up with seizure disorders long after the accident. It is easy to forget the cause after several years of the incident. And this is very difficult to treat by conventional methods.
If one does not want to take a chance of 'waite and see' then it is better to throw a few coins in the dustbin than spending endlessly for a frustrating condition that does not go away.
Preemptive hyperbaric oxygen therapy (hbot) is the only solution.
Preemptive hbot will also work for babies who have also suffered from perinatal birth asfixia, prematurity, low birth weight, jaundiced babies, hypoxic anoxic encephalopathy, cerebral palsy and brain damage.

Ah!
My sister take it easy ooo dis is scary, d baby is not mine sef n am already scared.

Good evening Mamas in the house and happy New year.
May we not cry over our children in Jesus name. Amen.

Pls I need your advice.my ittle baby neck is not stable. He is just 3 months and few days old and am really concerned. He sucks and sleeps well.
Weight is about 4.2kg now.birth weight is 2.4kg.

Do we have any one with such experience and how it was resolved?
Some baby milestones are with their weight and not necessarily their age. Was the baby full term at birth?

Happy new year mothers. Please help me out. My son is 6 weeks and I noticed this night that he coughs occasionally and it also seems like he has slight catarrh.

We went for 6 weeks post natal checkup yesterday but I didn't bring it up because I didn't take note of it before then.

Please what do I do? Take him back to the hospital? Thanks as I await your response.

If you try home remedies for three days and is getting worse,or getting worse as days go by, please see a baby doctor.

Saying they learn nothing is really disappointing cos dey do learn alotss, cos dey dnt make sentences n read doesn't mean dey learn nothing....my daughter strted at 1yr 10month n I can say she really changed within 3 month...she socialise more(no more mummy n I gum gum),she counts to 10,identify and names colors, strted saying one or two words wen she feels like n has learnt to arrange her toys back in its box after playing (which has bin a BIG relieve for me) and such more, she even eats better too sef, always wanting to self feed...i tired some of these things myself while she was home but it just didn't work...its not abt bin buoyant abeg

Use mentholatum on his chest, feet and back, ori on the bridge of his nose. Is he congested or the cough is dry? Is his nose blocked?

Thank you mama. I use to use mentholatum on his rib area, feet and hands and will continue as you have mentioned. I will do the ori as well.
One side of his nose is blocked. I notice dry mucus like once a day.

He coughs like 3 times at different intervals in a day and sometimes vomits slimy breastmilk which I suspect is his way of coughing out the mucus.

Try a steam bath. Do you burp him when he feeds? Slimy breastmilk may come from spitting up. 3 times in 1 day also doesn't seem like cause to panic

Search the thread for how to do a steam bath. No vex, I'm currently multitasking so can't take time to type it again

Someone dropped a question on a public forum for an open opinion. Am not giving advice I repeat am not giving advice its just my own opinion and I see nothing wrong with it. Its not as if am prescribing a medication or something. Its left for the one asked for the opinion to pick whichever his ok with.

All those stuffs you mentioned your kids do is something a child of that age should do. It all depends if the mum dedicates her time for that. If its socialising i wouldn't agree less.

The problem with how your opinion is stated though is statements like the bolded will make some mums feel inadequate and can eat away at people's confidence and self esteem. We're supposed to build each other up as women. Some SAHMs are too busy with chores/other kids, some aren't well educated, some children learn better in group settings, some children learn better and take authority figures more seriously... so many things that can lead to a SAHM choosing for her child to go to school

It's great if you can home school your child till PhD level, but parents who choose to start school before 3 years old are not money wasters who have nothing better to do with their money
