Hello fellow Nlanders and auto experts, please I need first hand info about Isuzu Rodeo SUV 2001-2004 model. Was told it's a strong, durable and rugged car. But please I need to know how economical it is fuel wise and hope it's not going to be back breaking to replace it's engine and some other parts.

Is this SUV so bad that no one is using or selling it? Comments please... waiting.

its bad at being good ,cos its been my pal 4 a while now, i use an 01 rodeo ,guy u will love it ,but mine is manual,GO FOR IT its cheap to maintain

. Many people complain that the mechanic to this car are rare. While some said that any Honda mechanic can repair it, I don't know how true is this!

isuzu rodeo, honda passport, they are the same give it to any mech dat does honda,and beside e no dey get fault anyhow

True talk, rear fault, mine is honda passport moves incredibly wit high performance of auxilliary until chec tansmission was displayed on d dash screen. A mechanic chec it an said there is a congil oil at d bottom so he washed off d oil an change d filter after coupling d drive d can only drag d vehicle but wen drive 2 is engaged it moves well but will select to 3 or 4 sometimes so he advice me to buy d control switch but am scare l will rather change d complete gear box instead of dis guess an gesture game,pls some1 should paste me d cost of gettin a new gearbox 4 honda passport 1998 model by isuzu or can gearbox be rebuild cost an impl ication very urgent cos l luv dis ride, also tanx bro for dis unique thread but go 4 manual since am stil in dis auto gear palavar aside dat no fault 4 d jeep. Tanx, awaitin response.

I used Isuzu Rodeo 2002 for good 5 years before selling it mid this year, I can confidently tell u that d ride is d best, economical, fuel efficient, rugged etc.

You never still buythe car by now? Don't waste time oh, the fit finish for market oh. I'm a proud owner of one with auto transmission. Its a good ride and why wld anyone tell u there are no mechs for it? Its a japanese product for crying out loud.

These are my prerequisites when thinking of a vehicle for Nigeria:

1) High visibility to see the terrain.
2) Solid rear axle
3) Built on a true truck chassis
4) Japanese (absolutely not American)
5) V6 and most definitely not a V8
6) Relatively fuel conscious (any vehicle ion this class will not sip gas, it's just the way things are)
7) Ease of parts (the Rodeo and Pilot are twins).

The Rodeo checks of all single requirements and hence why there's one sitting in my garage in Ibadan.

Now, you need to do a vehicle inspection andif it checks out, and if the price is right and if the price is in your range then I don't see why you won't buy this truck.
