Firefire: Prof. thank goodness you admit Buhary made mistake, not only the mistake, his position then was wrong and not befitting a National Leader who is not sentimental, couple with GMB leading a battalion of ACF to meet the late Alh. Lam Adeshina in Oyo State for the fight between Yoruba and Fulani in Saki. All this evil past cannot just go away.
GEJ's opinion on this issue remains unknown, and he has the right to remain silent, because, 'Silence is Golden'. You are right. OTOH, silence while golden, can also mean consent -- it might come back to bite, just as it is biting PMB now . . . no one knows tomorrow. |

abimic: Well, if by heavy oil u thought, bitumen! bitumen is An extra heavy oil(API gravity of below 10 degree) while for Heavy oil, it stands between 22 and above 10 degree, though agbabu in ondo has it in large quantity like Lagos, Ogun and Edo, but agbabu's own is largest probably in the country, even at that, u must-have heard of synthetic crude! When stating reserves especially oil reserves, it must be economically and technically viable, bitumen as it is hasn't being fully harnessed by the nation, even the geologist, olusegun they once had as a governor confirmed this. Ondo still stands as one of the least producing oil states from NDDC. Still, I maintain from oil reserves(proven + unproven), ondo isn't the highest. 2 years ago, it cost about $80 to produce a barrel of oil from 'tar sands' or bitumen. Breaking news: it costs about $8.50 in Canada now! Cheaper than $35 for producing crude in Nigeria's ND, cheaper/about that of Saudi!!!! http://business.financialpost.com/news/energy/crude-at-10-is-already-a-reality-for-canadian-oilsands-producers?__lsa=c3e4-374a |

abimic: Maybe you're from ondo state or want to whip up sentiments in your favor. Your analysis is unavoidably laced with holes. I only enjoy from your point indirectly that, even if the ND secede, that doesn't necessarily translate to a good life because they have oil! But that ondo has more oil reserve than other Niger Delta states is unfounded, which method did u use to come to this? Analogy, volumetric, performance oriented(Simulation, decline curve analysis or MBE)? Our proven oil reserve as a nation stands at 37.070MMMbbl, then how possible ondo has more than that knowing fully well 2P and 3P aren't too likely based on economic and Technical constraints. Anyway, the Agbami oil field operated by star deep u defended later on, which is undoubtedly the second largest Deepwater oil field after bonga by shell has a daily production of 70Mbbl/d while some claim 250Mbbl/d and OIIP of about 900MMbbl which is not worth a comparison with inputs from other states like one that houses bonga. Moreover the Agbami field isn't too credited to ondo by NDDC hence, the reason for the paltry amount that enters the state from excess crude compared to other high earners in ND. So please, always cross check your analysis and facts. Gracias! Heavy oil and light oil bro.Go to pages 9-10, I explained to folks who didn't get it already. |

Sunnynwa: Ignorance is a disease. Nigeria's proven oil reserve is about 37 billion barrels. Sure it is, especially if you think Nigeria's 40-45 billion barrels of heavy oil is non-existent.

Progress2468: For your info Ondo is ND Yes, that is why it would be hard for the ND to break off, because we ain't going with.
And if there would be breakage, Nigeria would rightfully take back the juicy Agbami fields for Ondo state -- Nigeria's money built it! |

makaveli902: Where did u get ur facts from? Nigeria has a proven reserve of 36 Billion barrels, the 2nd largest in Africa after Libya which has 44 billion barrels, Angola 23 billion barrels. I wonder who told u that Ondo state has that much, how big is the coastline of Ondo state are u telling me that it is bigger than that of Delta state? Go and get ur facts right.... Silentmind: Stop acting as if you read better than anyone else here. Oil was discovered in different minute quantities in different parts of the country before the 1920s. Oil was discovered in old Ebonyi state in the 1920s or so. Stop bragging.
Before you get worked up, I know on do state the most blessed state in yorubaland while other are just there. You can only brag with ondo state because I know what the state can produce with regards to mineral resources. First discovery was bituminous oil was in Lagos, 1905.
First discovery of light oil crude was in Araromi, Ilaje, Ondo state, in 1908, by German Nigerian Bitumen company.
True talk, the state is blessed!!! And they ain't frontin'.

Silentmind: Big man stop merging bitumen with liquid oil. Bitumen is a solid fuel while crude is liquid.
Bitumen can give heavy oil after you melt under catalytic cracking in the presence of some catalysts.
If you say on do state has 40billion in reserves of bitumen, I will still say you are lying.
I can also say Enugu has 100billion in reserves of coal because I can convert coal to heavy oil using Belgius Process.
Stop fuming as if you went to school in Mars. 1. I didn't say Ondo has 40 billion barrels reserve of bitumen (I appreciate reading and comprehension).
2. I said Ondo has roughly 40 billion barrels of 'heavy oil' (bituminous oil) and 'light oil' -- ownership of 2 types of oil.
3. The total reserves of bituminous oil/heavy oil in Nigeria is about 40-45 billion barrels, of which Ondo has about 31 billion barrels of the lot!
4. The same bituminous oil is a large chunk of Canada's production and Venezuela's!
5. Let me break your heart!!! Hold on to something tight . . . 2 years ago, it cost about $80 to produce a barrel of oil from 'tar sands' or bitumen. Breaking news: it costs about $8.50 in Canada now! Cheaper than $35 for producing crude in Nigeria's ND, cheaper/about that of Saudi!!!! Remember that quote about taking care of your towel?

CSTR6: STFU. You obviousy don't realize i was trying to humour myself with you. Ondo has 40 billion in 70 billion barrels reserves of the Nigerian state?haha. That is an unforgivable blunder. In Nigeria, reserves is directly proportional to production. It does not make sense to have all the crude and not want to earn 13% derivation on it. Even the official govt statistics on oil reserves in Nigeria does not attach that much importance to ondo as a major reserve state because it is not. It all exists in your ewedu addled imagination. Heavy and light crude?lol. It seems you like introducing concepts you have very little knowledge of. Remember what I told you about not embarrassing yourself? Now you just did again. CSTR6:
Reserves dictates oil production. You produce only from what you have. In Nigeria, large reserve states generate the larger proportion of oil. And ondo is a very minor oil producer because she never really had oil. [s]All her known oil wells were the ones carved from the delta.[/s] Actually geographically, parts of the Agbami fields belong to Ondo state, and if they press for it, they will get it back. |

CSTR6: What bloody digging? How many oil wells does ondo have to generate 40billion barrels of oil? Even the few it has were fraudulently stolen from delta state. Reserves; not production. Both words have different meanings.
And all you are talking about is 'light oil', 'cause we presently are not using our 'heavy oil' reserves which Ondo state alone has about 31 billion barrels of. |
Politics › Re: Niger Delta Avengers Unveils Currency by 989900B: 2:12pm On May 27, 2016 |
CSTR6: Ondo a minor oil producing state owns 40 billion barrels of 70 billion? What then does major states like delta, rivers , bayelsa and akwaibom own? This is what ewedu can do to a brain. You will argue still, because getting facts across to 'sincerely ignorant' people is like baptizing a cat. Don't be lazy . . . do some digging. Then learn to read and comprehend. Producing and reserves are too different things. Cross river for example has oil, but it is no longer included among oil producing states. |

EbiClems: Wisdom of God is light! All our past leaders and present from every tribe are fake. See the problem that they have created in the niger delta. In a normal society the place that produce the resource is given more attension in terms of social amenities. Nigeria has been ruled by greedy, visionless, unpatriotic leaders. Nigeria is a state not a nation, u can quote me! Why are Rivers state, Ondo state, Cross river, and Akwa Ibom not like Bayelsa and Delta? Bayelsa's governor already answered first part of the question.
The second part is, their leaders are nothing but crooks too. |
