Mo give it to the ijaw woman anytime: strong, loving and an home maker .
Let me tell you Dickson is a pretender! he is part of the stewpid priviledged IJ political elite who prefer a lazy minded populace in order to continue to manipulate them for their selfish gains. isn't laziness a mind thing? From Alam , Gej to Dickson ehn, tell me 1 important revolutionary project they initiated or initiating to evolve the bayelsan mind? rather and until recently, it is sponsoring violence /communal clashes with heavy killings that the Nigerian Press don't even report....the culture of using guns to conduct election or settle scores is one of their projects before OBJ adopted it to a temporary national strategy in 2003 elections!

The mentality is 'so you Mr governor and your family would want to enjoy without sweating or lifting a finger all from our oil money but would want us to go carry digger- na lie OO; share the money! ' You can imagine my people asking for money before they registered to vote for their son as the president of Nigeria while Hausa-Fulani travelled far distance from their pocket from Rivers to sokoto ,Kano etc to happily register n even donated to the GMB campaign funds!
Today Dickson is the governor and number citizen of Bayelsa with all the power of the people handed over to him to bring a better Bayelsa, so what strategies is he putting or has he put in place to liberate the minds and Not the hands of my people? History will judge him tomorrow but he still has the time to pioneer or birth the ideas for the kind of Bayelsa he envisages. God bless Nigeria.

Although dirty, coal is a viable option as it's abundant in Nigeria. We cannot be the conscience of the world on clean energy in the midst of so much suffering and stunted growth. Since the government has demonstrated that it cannot guarantee the security of gas supply it's a no brainier to go the coal route while monitoring developments in the renewable energy technology for possible adoption. The employment coal production will generate cannot be ignored. Those countries championing clean energy today have full employment and still burn huge tonnage of coal till today while discouraging us from using it.

We can never generate the same number of employment to produce gas compared to coal of same energy content
China, the US and UK all burn coal like no tomorrow . . . these are countries that our use of coal can never be up to 3% of theirs, even if we use coal alone to power the whole of Nigeria!

What is he diversifying in the energy sector? I think it will be more better if we concentrate on the gas and hydro we are using today instead of compiling the entire problems of the energy sector by jumping into what we don't have the money to do neither can we maintain it. Do you think "nuclear energy" is a child play? I don't want to believe that fashola dont know what renewable energy entails. You guys think wind, tidal, solar and biomass energy are ABC. [/i]
I am not Fashola. And you sir, are entitled to your opinion.

I do no support 'nuclear' for Nigeria either, even though it is arguably one of the best, bar the safety concerns which terrifies me, taking into consideration the disunity in this country, carelessness, and other security issues.

Solar plants can be tied with Wind/Gas/Hydro/Coal in a hybrid system.

Coal is abundant in Enugu and it is one of the most used in the world -- we are not making use of that.

Completion of hydro plant projects is a good place to start.

Gas/electricity plants should be located as close to source as possible.

My friend renewable energy is like the best source of power generation in the world today. [s]About 70% of America's energy today is sourced from wind.[/s] But Nigeria today don't have the money to diversify its energy. We don't have what it takes to maintain these solar powers and windmills. Understand this bro

If your fashola did say he wants to diversify our energy from fossil fuel/fossil power plants to renewable energy, than I don't think that man knows what he is doing as the power minister{besides the man is a lawyer so I shouldn't be surprised}. Even the industrialised nations that he is trying to copy were using coal, fossil power plants in the last century. How can any reasonable person ignore the abandoned gas we have in Nigeria and start looking for windmills/solar panels we don't have or produce?
Diversification and elimination are two different things.

Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola has reiterated the commitment of government in diversifying its energy mix for improvement in electricity supply.
According to the Minister, who spoke while receiving in audience the visiting, Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Mr. Yukiya Amano, the mix will go beyond the traditional sources of gas, oil and hydro to include nuclear and other renewable sources like solar, biomass and wind.
PoliticsRe: Power Generation: Government Should Stop Constructing Gas Fired Power Plants by 989900B: 7:43am On May 19, 2016
I'm just going to say something about solar power: solar power works best as a hybrid system (with back up from another source of energy to compensate for shortfalls)
PoliticsRe: Power Generation: Government Should Stop Constructing Gas Fired Power Plants by 989900B:
Fashola already mentioned diversifying our power generation sources.

OTOH, using gas for power generation is not the isssue, rather the location of the power plants that need the gas vs source of gas -- the whole power generation/transmission/distribution master plan is skewed and faulty from the get-go!

If the gas reserves in Lagos, Ondo, Abia, and Imo states are to be tapped into for plants for example, you don't need a rocket scientist to tell you, you have to site plant as close to source as possible . . . then you transmit from there.

The Alaoji (Abia), Aba Power (Abia) and Egbema (Imo) plants for example I think are closer to source (not very sure though).

PoliticsRe: Dangote To Construct Lokoja-ilorin Road -FG by 989900B: 5:34pm On May 18, 2016
DropShot:
I think this is wrong.

We need full details to be able to determine if this is good for us or not.
1. Is the 30% concession tax for the entire Dangote Grp or for just the cement factory in Lokoja?

2. For how many years will Dangote hold back the 30% tax?

3. Is there a minmum quality standard specified for the construction work?

4. Will the FG supervise the work to ensure standards are met?

5. Has a cost estimate for the project been done and compared to the 30% concession tax. That way, we will know how much we lose or gain by this arrangement.

Without answers to these questions, I say it's not a good strategy.
The above details are needed to decipher if good or bad.

PoliticsRe: Nigerian Militants Are Controlling The World's Oil Prices Right Now by 989900B: 2:34pm On May 18, 2016
Current prices are on the rise because:

1. There is higher demand in summer months.

2. The dollar is a bit less strong than it was some months back.

3. India, China, Russia and some other countries have increasing demands again.

4. Output disruptions in Canada, Venezuela, and Nigeria.

5. ISIS oil production is largely reduced.

6. More shale oil shutting down everyday (DHYB).

7. Saudi has a new energy minister . . . uncertainties, he might cut on Saudi's production.

There you have it . . . feel free to add.
