Thewrath:
Good day Luvinhubby.
Pls what average scan tool would you recommend for a 2005 Honda Accord,5speed manual tranny...pics and/or contacts will really help if any..

Also,do you have any professional mech's contact in abuja(maybe Kubwa) to help check my instrument cluster, everything works except fuel guage and speedometer, they don't move at all...I also need to re-install my thermostat as I discovered it was bypassed because:
1)my temp guage never gets to the middle area.
2)the fan starts immediately ignition is on.
Thanks,awaiting your reply.

Contact Kingsrein, he is on Nairaland

Woke up this morning to this on my Whatsapp from my Uber driver:

"Good morning boss"

"Some thing terrible has happened sir"

"There was an accident'

His phone has been switched off ever since. Is this repairable?

Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by chuks04: 10:45am On Oct 27, 2018
Goodmorning gurus in-house,
I have been using this Honda city 2007 model for a while but recently I noticed that after staying long on traffic the high temperature sign will start flashing on the dashboard and eventually the car engine will stop running, and after 5 minutes or more it will start again.

Each time this happens, as the engine get cold I check the water on the radiator and that of reservoir, I noticed that the coolant water is always intact never shorts.

Tlhe two fans blows very well, the thermostat works well because when I first noticed this issue, I removed the thermostat and did a test on it to confirm if it actually working well. It was all good.

Pls I need advice on how to tackle this issue.

Thanks.

Car has insurance? it's a win win if you did not devalue your car when filling the paperwork.

due to the codes posted below..i would like to know how much you would sell the downstream 02 sensor.. The one at the catalyst converter.. For Honda accord 05...v4...including courier to ph.. As well as the price of thermostat for same car..i want to confirm if this code.. P0139 is for the downstream sensor.. While p0128 is for lack of thermostat in the car making the engine run cold...pls your price quotes sir.

When my car was running without thermostat It did not throw a P0128 code. The P0128 is most probably due to the cooling fans running continuously.

We once discussed about returning your cooling fans back to factory setting, then, I even made an offer to direct you on what to do via video call but....

This your EOD don show you pepper sha, price was probably cheap.. You just rush am grin grin

Engine mounts, most likely the rear one.

The blinking D4, can be scanned to identify the faulty switch or sensor.

You are mixing it up..
- Thermostat does not control the fan..
- Thermostat is a valve which opens or closes depending on engine temperature.. It opens to allow cool coolant pass through the engine.
-Your cooling fan is controlled by a coolant temperature switch(thermistor)/fan switch or by the ECU which gets engine temperature values via coolant temperature sensors.
-On your Honda, Cooling fans are suppose to come on when the engine coolant temperature is above 95degC

So now back to you question..
If your cooling fan is rewired to start running immediately engine starts,It won't cause overheating(assuming no other issue with the Cooling system) instead it will cause overcooling since the coolant temperature will never get to 90degC..
This will make the car consume a little more fuel and ECU will throw a P0184 code - Coolant Temperature Below Thermostat Regulating Temperature

you are actually right.. My engine is over cooling and temp gets to max of 75%..no matter how long I drive.. Hence they 5 here Co de. P0128..i would love to fix it as Asap....

Hmm actually if the thermostat is measuring engine temp then running your fan directly won't have any effect on it since the thermostat WON'T OPEN unless the temp of the engine require to open it is reached irrespective of the temp of the coolant. The only problem I see here is the thermostat opening and closing often plus reduced life if the fan from running constantly and engine strain from running fan always
