PoliticsRe: Top 10 Most Indebted Nigerian States As Of Q1 2025 by 99thEnemy(m): 9:55pm On Aug 05, 2025
AlphaTaikun:
Benue State recently acquired surveillance drones for security purposes and that can be factored in. Besides this is cumulative debt profile of N129.82 billion from past Benue State government loans (plus interests on loans) till the current one.
Was that from a loan?

Look at what insensitive governance is costing us. Funny enough, most of these debts were collected in dollars and continue to increase as dollar is going high.
The present governor of Benue has never taken any loan since assuming office but look at where the careless spending of his predecessors put the state.
You can say that again.

Foreign AffairsRe: U.S. To Require Some Foreign Visitors Pay Bonds Of Up To $15,000 For Entry by 99thEnemy(m): 11:21am On Aug 05, 2025
malali:
No bias, you on the other hand are absolving the USA of crimes they have perpetrated against Africa and the likes. Africans built the USA with free labor from slavery at least a great part. Now all of a sudden we have to pay and Bond to visit. And you are trying to justify it by calling it Visa Fraud. All of a sudden USA is the virtuous one ?
You seemed to be vexed about the mention of Visa Fraud.

Here is my initial statement.

99thEnemy:
But they are very clear. Tourist or Business Visas

If someone's intention is to JAPA, the person has no business with the Visa's of this type.
Anyone who does is very guilty of Visa Fraud which is the exact thing the United States is trying to mitigate.
And to aid your understanding, I attached images showing 35 common U.S. visa types grouped by category.

There are 35 common visa types (may be more), and the restrictions apply only to the B types: B1 (Business Visitor), B2 (Tourist Visitor), and B1/B2 (Combined Business/Tourist).

You seem very pained that I said anyone using Tourist or Business Visas for JAPA purposes is committing Visa Fraud. But why not use the appropriate visa from the others?

In fact, 10 out of the 35 visa types in the images below can be used for JAPA purposes. So why insist on using Tourist and Business Visas just because they were easier to get?

Is that not Visa Fraud?

Remember that JAPA refers to permanent relocation to a foreign nation for greener pastures.

They devalued our currency. Gave us loans. Knowing it will either get embezzled or misappropriated. Took our crude as collateral. Removed oil and Forex subsidies. Now they’re locking the gates.
JAPA
is no longer for the broke, it’s now elite migration.

Starting Aug 20th, Guesstimated JAPA Costs will be:
• ₦35M for 1 person (visa, ticket, cash, migration bond)
• ₦70M for 2
• ₦105M for 3

Time to fix our own country. Corruption still remains one of our biggest problems.
But they are very clear. Tourist or Business Visas

If someone's intention is to JAPA, the person has no business with the Visa's of this type.
Anyone who does is very guilty of Visa Fraud which is the exact thing the United States is trying to mitigate.

You misunderstood me. I wasn't discouraging its use.

In fact, AI helps in expressing ideas more clearly, and platforms like LinkedIn even promote such tools.

I just meant that LLM written content usually carries certain recognizable patterns For example, the em dash used for punctuation. There's no dedicated key for it on most devices, and inserting it manually is a bit tedious, whether on phone, tablet, or PC.

Hope it’s clear I wasn’t mocking its use. As long as the core idea is yours, using AI to refine it is absolutely fine.

PoliticsRe: 2027: ‘without Peter Obi, Coalition Is Doomed To Fail’ – Okon Lagos by 99thEnemy(m): 9:16am On Aug 02, 2025
yarimo:
Nothing like free ticket in coalition, OBI should participate in primary election isn't that simple
The only real chance Peter Obi has to compete against Atiku is if ADC conducts direct primaries to select its presidential flag bearer.

If it is indirect primaries, we already know how it plays out. Delegates will be bought, and from history, we know exactly what Atiku is capable of.

Obi cannot match Atiku dollar for dollar, the way Tinubu did in 2014 to secure Buhari’s victory over Atiku in the APC presidential primaries for the 2015 elections.
