BangaRice: Imagine at a time Nigerians and other non-European nationals are being deported from USA. If i can just make it into Greenland and integrate well, Denmark or USA is sure after the dust of whatever they have going on has settled.
Who knows how i can get into greenland peacefully and in one piece please? Nairalanders should help a bro. You didn't seek the wisdom of Kobo? |

Dogalmighty17: With AI slated and even beginning to wipe out a lot of entry level tech jobs, the global consensus is that tech isn't really the hot cake it used to be. That field is already very competitive. With just a simple prompt in Gemini, it gave me the code for an app that randomly generates numbers following a set pattern. It even offered a number of other features that I found useful.
I think cloud and DevOps still holds good prospects though. But DevOps isn't for everyone. I think that's the most frustrating aspect of tech. But the money is good from what I hear. A friend who moved to the UK years ago specialized in DevOps and from what he showed me, last year he saved close to 500 million naira after tax. He is quite sort after and travels all over the world. It took him 8 years to get there and he plans to retire this year at 42.
He encourages young folks who have a passion for tech to go into it but they need to be very intentional about it. In 10-15 years just about every aspect of tech will be AI dominated but cloud technologies still hold bright and vast potentials for anyone willing to put in the level of work ethic and dedication required. Currently, people smile about vibe coding. Vibe DevOps will immediately result in PREMIUM TEARS |

Jakarta: Open your eyes, tech is the new gold and oil combined. The fact is not everyone who tried to learn it will end up earning with it.Some may dropout due to burnout, others may fall into tutorial hell, and only a few will succeed. All in all, there are enormous potential in Tech, if your mind dey, enter with full force. You said it as it is, especially the part highlighted in red. The trap of tutorial hell comes from unstructured paths, skipped prerequisites, and assumptions about prior knowledge across one thousand and onety-one tutorials, which often results in spaghetti knowledge that leads to nothing productive. Learners jump from one tutorial to another without fully understanding, leaving many gaps in their knowledge. An example is in the PHP domain: some people take crash courses or bootcamps on PHP, then jump into a framework like Laravel through courses on Laracasts, build a few CRUD apps, and expect to be hired as a junior developer immediately. What they forget is that even Laracasts, a top resource for Laravel, assumes learners already have at least intermediate PHP knowledge to follow some of their courses and be independently creative. |

Ketamine9000mg: I just bought Oraimo power bank box 400(40, 000 mAh). I was advised by the seller to use the power bank until it is 0% before my first charge to 100%. Please, is this necessary? It is strongly advised you fully charge a new product before first use. Full discharge is only needed occasionally to recalibrate the battery meter if the percentage indicator becomes inaccurate (this is common in used products not new). New products are already factory calibrated. |

Career › Re: Which Digital Skills Are Worth Learning In 2026. by 99thEnemy(m): 12:58pm On Jan 06 |
MikeyOz: I mostly agree with this
Dynamic data is exactly where the limits show up first. Concept drift and changing incentives break static assumptions fast and AI still struggles to notice when its own confidence is no longer justified
RAG and self training help, but they don’t remove the need for human judgment. They only reduce friction not responsibility
The real risk isn’t Ai making suggestions, it’s letting it operate without a human who understands when the ground has shifted to. So which part do you still not agree with? You said you "mostly agree", which means there are specific points you still disagree with. |

May Mbatsav Mba Sha Ya have no power over you. |
Career › Re: Which Digital Skills Are Worth Learning In 2026. by 99thEnemy(m): 8:53am On Jan 04 |
MikeyOz: This is mostly true but overstated in a few places
Firstly, "AI will only automate parts of data analysis, not eradicate data analysis or data science”
True, what will change is the shape of the job, not its existence
But... AI can define the right questions AI already helps propose questions when given context
AI can understand real business or social context, AI can and will understand represented context and can decide what data truly matters as well as reliably detect flawed assumptions, bias and misleading correlations
In a few years from now, AI will increasingly perform most mechanical and analytical tasks in data work
But that's not eradication, that's compression and elevation You have a valid point. But I think this may only hold for unchanging data, which is rarely the case in business, because, events, seasons, economy, and even Gen-Z behavior among other external factors constantly shift meaning. AI is not perfect because hallucinations have been a big problem, so letting AI be autonomous is very risky, especially when making business decisions. You may think of RAG as a solution, but there is no one size fits all for every kind of data, especially with different use cases. The issue of dynamic data makes this even harder, particularly in data streaming, where context and concepts can shift, models start drifting, and assumptions break in the analysis. Even self-training models do not fully solve this, which reinforces the point that a human must still be in the middle. |
