In any case, the rules are clear. There must have been at least one physical meeting between both parties to this marriage TWoods: You will run into problems convincing the consulate that you are really married. If he's marrying you, he should do the needful, come to Nigeria and marry you. Call me old school, but i don't believe a woman should be the one worrying about how a marriage is going to take place.
This sounds more like a scam to me. Why should your uncle be "helping matters"? Is he the one getting married? Thankfully America is getting wiser to these sort of scams. Good luck with your "marriage". |

But the old passport is not an additional document. It's still part of the new and contains proof of eligibility seyewest: Including the old passport won't work because when you do dropbox it must not come with any other additional document unless they requested for additional document (e.g old passport with visa) so apply for your dropbox and luckily you will fill the ds160 with the necessary visa number and code... that should give them a clue of what is going on. |

You qualify for Dropbox Include both passports in the application. In any case, the new passport contains the old passport number at the top right hand corner. You should be fine OmoBendel24: Good afternoon all, a quick one here please. I seem to have forgotten the way round this (scratches head). I intend applying for a renewal of my B1/B2 Visa soon. I have all my previous US visas in my expired Nigeria passport (and I have not misplaced it too).
My travels to the US and other places this past one year plus were done on a new passport (combined with the old because of the visas in it). As a result of this new passport not carrying a US Visa (CBP stamps are on it though), expired or unexpired, FOR CLARIFICATION PURPOSE, should I then just schedule an appointment and go the one-on-one interview route or am I rather qualified for the Dropbox still as I have always done before (if yes, do I send in both passports or what)? Thanks....

If you can't take the heat just get out of the kitchen already. Nobody is here to hold anybody's hand. Everyone here is volunteering their time to assist those who want to be assisted without violating any laws. If that doesn't work for you, go look elsewhere HATEmeNOT123: Becos VO is here...He/She shud not express dia thought. Even the person dem dey talk to sef don sucumb Sometimes i wonder why... I arrived @ conclusion that some of u are trying to be nice and calm so that they may give u an appointment at the embassy.
HELL NO!
Again.. Do you know why some ppl dont post dia transcipt? Simply because some of you are rude wen responding to questions. If u dnt av anytin positive response to a ques.. Cant you just stay numb..even the stress u undergone to write that insultive words wud av give an answer that is not up to ur insultive write up. You need to change if you know you have that kind attitude. NO fight just personal opinion.!!! |

Wait o. You cannot afford hotel of maybe $100-$150/night, which at exchange rate of circa 350 would be about N367K in total. But you want to blow N500K and above on air ticket to go for a vacation in the US, plus N64K visa fee. Nnam, you know you can use that money to invest in a small business here rather than going to dash it to airline and hotels? Unless of course, you have 'other reasons' for wanting the visa mzjennypher: Thank you. From the hotels around there the prices are high, is it safe to use a bed and breakfast house? |

Lagos nko? OmoBendel24: Mall kwa? Use your hotel oh.... Well, I think it ideal that the best areas to book an hotel as a tourist is close to or right around where the attractions are, at least somewhere central and easy to shoot from, they are not always so so expensive as we conclude, you can get some fairly priced ones when you check and search deeper. Sandton for Johannesburg, Manhattan for New York, Central London for the UK, Downtown Dubai for Dubai, etc. Just my opinion though! |

....if you want to experience hell at the airport.
I am writing this from the airport in Casablanca and I am tired, sleepy, frustrated and very very angry.
These people are rude, unfeeling, callous and just plain dishonest.
But let me start from the beginning. I got my Immigrant Visa last year and decided to fly Air Maroc.
Usually, I fly Delta (got the SkyMiles card to boot). But at that time, Delta needed to leave in a hurry to catch a conference in DC before heading home to the family and so I was seduced not just by the price that RAM offered, but also because it was the next quickest. Less than 5 hours to Casablanca, and another 7-odd hours to DC. So I could leave in the morning, and be in the States same day.
I was concerned about the 14-hour layover on the return leg, but the Arline assured me they had accommodation arrangements per IATA policy.
It looked a great deal, so I took it.
A couple of months after, a US Citizen friend of mine, who hadn't been home in years, told me of the harrowing experience he and his family went through with RAM on that layover.
He vowed never to touch them again even if they offered him seats for free.
Based on that, you can understand how I boarded the flight with a bit of trepidation last night. But I hoped that his tales of woe might be the over reaction of someone who has lived in the States for too long and blows any small inconvenience out of proportion.
How wrong I was.
We arrived in Casablanca nearly an hour behind schedule. Then formed a long, snaking queue at the transit desk to get our hotel vouchers. When it got to my turn, the lady looked at my boarding pass and asked me to go and sit down, that we would be attended to later.
So far, so good. I joined a few others and went to sit down. After about an hour, a man came and asked those of us from DC to come with him. We all went down, he showed us to a bus which we boarded and were taken somewhere.
That's when trouble began. The young man there blocked the entrance and launched into a staccato of Arabic. It took almost half an hour of confusion for us to calm him down and asked him what was going on, he told us we had to return to the transit terminal.
Apparently, there was no space where we had been brought to.
Back to the terminal we headed. Only, there was no bus to take us. So we had to wait in the sun for almost another half hour before they got us a bus.
Back at the transit desk, we were told to queue again for hotel vouchers. Mind you, this wasn't as straightforward as I'm writing, trust me. It took a while, raised voices, hand signs, and near fisticuffs to get to that point.
And so we queued again. Finally, we got hotel vouchers. By the time it got to my turn, some of those who had picked up theirs earlier had returned, saying they were turned back at the hotel reception because they didn't have meal vouchers to go with the hotel ones. They were told to join the queue again and wait till it was their turn.
Incredible!
Anyway, I finally got my voucher (both hotel and meal, thankfully) and proceeded to the hotel. Got there, only to be told that they are fully booked and the earliest checkout is 9PM!
Yes 9PM.
In case that doesn't compute, let me lay it out.
Land Casablanca at 10am. Receive hotel voucher 3 hours later at past 1PM Can't check into hotel till 9PM Check-in time for flight is 11:15PM Ergo, we have to perambulate around the airport for 11 hours, then get a room for 2 hours.
How very considerate of Royal Air Maroc.
FINALLY, just like my friend, I've come to a decision. I'm NEVER, EVER flying Air Maroc again.
Not just because of this entire fiasco, but because it was very clear to me that they knew exactly what they were doing.
They have limited accommodation for the passengers coming through, they know this. And so they try all these delay tactics to waste time and end up giving accommodation to only the very few they can accommodate. And their attitude, rather than be courteous is haughtily rude and condescending.
Even if I get a seat for free, I'm tearing up that ticket |

Let her go ahead and get a ew passport, and show up at the interview with both passports. The visa will be printed on the current one travelpoint: My sister discovered that her passport will expired August 2017 after she had paid US visa fee through GTB, she cannot use this passport to obtain visa.
She is planning to obtain a new passport but she doesn't know what to do because her current passport number is printed on the US visa payment receipt. |
