Fam just stop it already. In Lillard’s final 2 season with the Blazers he had a 120 defensive rating and averaged between 117-120 the prior years, which puts his closer to top 50 than he is outside the top 40 now.

Malik Beasley was between 115-118 in the last 3 years, which puts him outside the top 40! Were those also part of defensive schemes? Both players are who they are in the league.. full liabilities and their respective careers say so!

Chastising is a generous word to use and doesn’t describe what happened in that instance. Players recommend plays and that isn’t a new thing. We have seen players draw offensive and defensive plays during timeouts so this isn’t anything historic/ novel or makes any case for your argument.
One would think you're revealing highly classified KGB information here

Is there anyone unaware of Lillard or Beasley's shortcomings on defense. You can't walk and chew gum at the same time or two things cannot be true?

So what now is the job of the coach? To throw his hands up and give up or fix it abi wetin you dey argue sef.

If he cannot drive marked improvement what is now his use? Does Ime Udoka have two heads? Even if you want to argue the Rockets are a younger team, defense is still a mindset and a market you must sell to your players. We have no evidence this is the case with Griffin

Lmaoo. Funny of you to downplay players openly questioning their coach mid game. Wo I no get talk for you jare. You're deadset on villainizing Giannis. Fire down

Incase you have forgotten so quick, let me be the first to remind you that the Bucks suffered a gentleman sweep just 7 months ago. I reiterate, the only stud defensively in that starting 5 is Giannis and the stats prove it. Lillard's defensive rating this season is 118.4 which places him outside the top 40. Malik Beasley is 118.1, also outside the top 40! 2 players outside the top 40 are your starting guards in the NBA, what else do you need to know! Kris Middleton is 116.2. So I am absolutely without any doubts correct that they have too many liabilities in the starting 5.

The stats also show the Bucks are placed 3rd in the EF with a 10-5 record, were tied for 2nd place before the loss to my Celtics. The Bucks are also top 5 in offensive rating and outside the top 5 in defensive rating, 7th and just a few points near 8-10th place. These stats absolutely make my point that they have a defensive issue and it is associated with the changes on their roster.

Giannis is outside the top 10 offensive rating for individual players, outside top 5 for player impact, ranked 10th in rebounds, top 5 in points scored. What do these tell you again? All these point to the fact that their biggest issue is on defense and the liabilities they are now parading.

And not everyone is playing Monday morning QB because before the trade was made or even a possibility, I made a detailed post stating this is an old roster and that they needed a perennial AS caliber type of player to convince Giannis to stay. See below...
Brook Lopez is also a DPOY candidate. Unless you're talking about perimeter players then your argument is not entirely correct. And this gentleman sweep remember Giannis was missing for 2 of the losses and was injured midway into the 3rd loss so basically he only played fully in one loss

Secondly all these numbers you're quoting is also a function of their scheme. Griffin has made defensive liabilities look even worse. The Bucks problem was never on defense at least not in the regular season. I don't believe Jrue is the sole reason that was the case

I see you went mute on the article I posted on the Bucks player chastising their coach and strong arming him to change his tactics on defense when the first 5 games went disastrously.

The roster is what the roster is. They upgraded by getting Dame. Their major fvckup was not letting Middleton walk. But this season and this roster if Giannis is upset with it then he will also be culpable in it's failure what I know is Giannis is not a player with history of mutiny, if he's kicking against the guy he supported the Bucks to hire e go get why and maybe he's aware he will have no excuses which is why he's holding his coach and hopefully himself accountable

Na bro! The Bucks are facing the consequences of a trade they made for Lillard and the reality that the roster is now old. Part of the reality of this trade is that the offense no longer runs through Giannis and that seems to be frustrating him as he can’t get into rhythm. That alone is an adjustment for Giannis. Also, late into the game, he is no longer the primary number called.

This Bucks roster, particularly the starting five as presently will struggle in the East, I mean, you are fielding Lillard/ Beasley at the top of the key and opponents are having a field day driving to the bucket and getting healthy fouls/ 2nd chance points, it has nothing to do with Adrian Griffin.

Even if you are frustrated, why show out your first year head coach like that? I mean, you were stinking up the joint, missing open buckets and getting in foul trouble, he calls a time out to have you sit for a few and you are throwing tantrums! Come on man!

Worsestill, post game, Griffin played down the spat as absolutely nothing but Giannis when asked just used the word “No”, putting more fuel to the fire.
This roster is bad. Lopez is 35, he was 33 when they won a championship. Middleton has become glass footed and barely contributes anything defensively. So that leaves you with Giannis in the starting five because the remaining 4 are liabilities or now old.

Griffin is working with what Giannis requested for and that is the truth. Giannis should do better and stop with the nonsense, it is disrespectful and definitely not the way to approach this issue. They need to make a trade.
I think you're forgetting Giannis is a big reason Griffin was hired in the first place. Not excusing his insubordination but this can only come from a lack of belief in what the coach is trying to do. This never happened with Kidd (obviously he was younger and not a star) nor with Budenholzer for all his flaws.

The Lillard trade had to be made, I think the Bucks made the critical error of not moving off Khris Middleton. The flexibility they would have had getting him off their books would have gone a long way.

I don't think running the offense away from Giannis or not making him the primary scorer late and in close games is the issue here especially since we have already established he needs help there.

Suggesting the Bucks roster is bad now would be playing Monday Morning Quarterback. This was not the consensus going into the season. Dame not delivering consistently on offense and Khris Middleton looking washed are much bigger issues.

But we cannot sit here and pretend Adrian Griffin's coaching is not a problem. Defense is part personnel and part scheme. I'm not seeing anything schematically that suggests Adrian Griffin knows what he is doing out there. If you say he needs more time that's a fair argument but his coaching especially thus far has been atrocious. And Lillard is not a defensive liability enough for their defense to be that bad
SportsRe: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 3:55am On Nov 24, 2023
Roland17:
Giannis has to allow Adrian Griffin do his job as coach and be coachable if he wants to win another championship. Also, Griffin has to hold his ground and draw boundaries as a young inexperienced coach otherwise he would absolutely lose the locker room.

Griffin should sit with Giannis and harsh what happened last night out. As coach, I called a timeout, made some subs that involved you, it is my call as coach, you may not like it but I called it!

It’s simple, no superstar player has won a championship without coaching. He has gotten his extension, Lillard and everything he has asked for, he just needs to calm down and allow Griffin do his job as coach.

We have seen superstar player go against their head coach openly like Butler/ Spoelstra, the difference is Spo is an experienced head but more importantly, Spo did not back down during the spat, you can’t do that. Phil never backed down from going at the GOAT when it got heated because as a coach you lose everything if you don’t draw the boundaries.

Do better Giannis.
I think it's more of a buy-in issue. When players are not buying in they're bound to question what you're doing. If we from the outside looking in are seeing that this Bucks team is not looking well coached how much more the players?

Griffin is an ex player himself which makes it even more damning

Hard to be coachable when a player does not feel you're giving him the information he needs to succeed. You can see what happened with Josh McDaniels and Raiders

See what happened with my Steelers and Matt Canada. Sometimes players can sense a coach way in over his head

I think Sporting stars In different sports should thank their lucky stars Straight Men(who make up the majority of their audience and people in power)are not as "Woke" as their women counterparts. If they were, it'll be curtains for a lot of careers.

In addition to what you said about KPJ, He is simply not as valuable as Miles so I don't see a way back for Him. His role as a sixth man volume scorer from the bench can be replaced compared to Miles's 3andD wing All star potential defence and offence.
But here's the kicker. Do we want to be emotional about these things or do we want to be practical? I'm not condoning his actions at all btw but if the fans or people in power were bussified males and women guess what it's still women that will suffer if they choose emotions over logic

When it comes to intimate partner issues if you end his career what happens to the quality of life of the kids and the woman. He is supposed to provide and protect right? How does he do that with his earning power drastically diminished.

I think the focus should be more on restraining orders. Keeping the mother and child out of harm's way while he keeps playing and supporting them financially. Do we want to be right or do we want to get it right? He was eligible for a 9 figure extension. That is generational wealth fumbled.

KPJ is a point guard actually. He's had his unstable issues before and was doing pretty ok in Houston. The gap in quality between him and Miles Bridges is really not that wide for him to be out of the league considering their offence is similar. I think he might have other personality issues that's keeping him outside the league along with his own partner violence

NBA fans are woke but not woke enough. Plus he missed all of last season and then a 10 game suspension.

The tricky part with this DV thing is if the man is out the league your earnings as the woman will suffer. So you need to be 100percent certain that man will be put away and then you have to start from square 1. As it is he has already missed out on a massive payday.

Concerning Pep, i have suspected he has lost it for a while. Outside leadership and authority it looks like the X and Os of this modern game dey elude am small.
Wemby is not even a gunner like Booker so it's going to be nigh impossible to get numbers like Book. I think Wemby's best bet is to focus more on the defensive end. Cos the way Spurs play they're filled with bench guys that think they are starters. They have no floor general and do not run any real plays for Wemby.

I think what this comes down to is unless you grow up in a house with older teenagers or uncle and auntie in uni, the first music you will be introduced to is your parents music. My parents had abba and Diana Ross records. Also boney m. I can Def recite abbas super trouper, boney ms daddy cool.

In the same way my kids (the first two) are very familiar with 90s music because that's what they heard their dad playing. Their Playlist is very interesting though as they also listen to Ariana grande and Co. And somehow we introduced each other to some variants of nerdcore.

To be honest everyone agrees the 90s is the real golden age of a lot of music. There was so much good material from that time. I am still unearthing songs.
Every once in a while I remember the lyrics of some old song and I Google it until I find it. Then I look for the high quality audio.

I remember watching one Grammy awards where lol Wayne performed. I was like finally, let me see what this guy is about. I saw some dude mumbling up and down on stage. Like wtf is this?
I will definitely agree growing up your parents musical library will influence your tastes. We had all the vinyls. Jimmy Cliff, Kenny Rogers, Obey and Sunny Ade. I been think say the man na DJ, Boney M (Rasputin was my best jam)

I had uncle's too that listened to Blackky, Alex O and all those guys I mostly discovered rap and hip hop thanks to them Keke and D1. And the rest is history

I think you are making his point. As you grow older, you will revert back to the musics you grew up with. You won't be interested in contemporary musics anymore. So those music that was recorded before you were born are part of what you grew up with.

It's happening to me. These days I find myself loving and playing a lot of old Congolese musics which my pops was always binging on when we were kids. I have lots of fally ipupa though cos he can create something very similar to the 90s Congo musics. I'm not talking makosa o.

I've gone back to playing igbo gospel musics from likes of

Bro Okwey
Agape love
Voice of the cross
Patty Obasi
Etc etc
I heard their songs a lot as a kid, now it gives nostalgia..and refresh my memories back then.

My hip hop play lists are from 90s and early 2000s. I don't even watch sound city, MTV or whatever anymore.

Contemporary musics are everywhere you go, so you don't have to play it yourself to listen to them. This is how I get to know them. I don't have none of them on my Playlist except Davidos old musics when he was still hungry.
Not necessarily. I'm not a slave to era else I would not be jamming songs that came out before I was born. There's one or two songs from this era I can also tolerate but I'm just telling you the quality of music has progressively gotten worse across all genres.

I think the streaming and Tik-Tok era has done irreversible damage to musical artistry. You don’t have to be able to build a base anymore to get paid. Just make music that goes viral on shorts

@A40 remember I told you the Nuggets lack of depth will be a big factor? They have been 3/3 since J. Murray went down. They are 24th in bench scoring this season which is troubling.

They lost to a Cavs team without Spyder and C. LeVert. C. Braun is still the only player on the bench they can offer anything.
I think Michael Malone does not trust his bench enough which begs the question why didn't you get guys in the offseason. You have to give your bench a longer leash, if you don't do it now then when? you allowed Jeff Green and Bruce Brown (unavoidable loss I get it) walk

Guys like Watson, Strawther, Nnaji. Give them more time to play and make mistakes.

Any lack of depth they face is self inflicted. They don't have backup for Jokic (2023 DeAndre Jordan doesn't count) and Cleveland with Mobley and Allen did a really good job on Jokic. I've not seen a team slow him down that well in quite sometime

It's deeper than that. Your situation also matters. Wemby's situation is not a particularly good one compared to Chet. This Spurs team is not set up to compensate Wemby's weaknesses. So I'm left wondering are the Spurs deliberately throwing these games or has Pop lost it.
