afrodoc2: 1 or 2 years ago i would have said GGG easily but over the last 12 months the guy appears to have slipped a little. Both are power punchers with solid chins. GGG has the advantage when it comes to natural size and raw power however Canelo is younger, more experienced professionally and is more tested. The obvious choice is GGG but a gentle voice is telling me this fight is coming about a year or two too late for him.
I would admit I underestimated Canelo's chin. I honestly didn't think he would be able to cope with GGG but ka ma puro ka ma jale GGG won that fight! That fight na face to face 419 and Canelo hugely benefitted from a healthy serving of home cooking. At worst GGG should have gotten a MD
MrBrownJay1: what a race indeed! see how Ham is proving time and time again that he is one of the greatest in the field today (alongside Alonso lol)... and again, we can clearly see who the frustrated driver (trying to ram people off the track) is. i am sure bro A40 will have a plausible explanation as to why the Vet did such an insane move.
Alonso had moved up to 3rd before he was rammed by Verstappen... probably the 1st ever time i would not be pissed at seeing Alonso out.
What was Verstappen doing trying to swerve left and center? Hamilton fanboys must be thrilled Mad Max has struck in their favor but the day would come when he costs Hamilton a race and I would be here to say I told you so. It's a pity that Hamilton did not win this race out of brilliance or ability but merely on the back of some good fortune. It's unfortunate but all hope is not lost. I believe in miracles and I would be rooting for a Hamilton DNF either at Sepang or Suzuka just to level the playing field
omar22: Didnt this rubbish driver beat Schumacher 3 years in a row? The fact here is that this a track for Ferrari and Golden Finger threw everything away
2nd driver to do a quadruple I believe Vettel is the only Champion not to win a race as a current champion since Jacque Villenueve. The Ferrari is as fast as the Merc with similar BHP. Ferrari sacrificed straight-line speed for extreme down-force just like one of Adrian Newey's aero rocket
Beat a 79year old Schumacher? Don't make me laugh bro. As for the crash that was part Max and mostly Kimi, Seb was in front of both of them and was trying to protect his spot while Verstappen was caught in two worlds. The safest option would have been to brake but Kimi took away that option trying to squeeze through at the same time Seb was trying to protect his spot, You can see Max clearly turning his steering to the left and then the center in quick succession to highlight the confusion he faced. As for the Ferrari being as fast as the Merc that is a crying joke! The gulf in power is bleeding obvious and we saw that at Monza. Nothing was sacrificed because to begin with nobody saw Ferrari being a factor this year
Roland17: Tonight's fight buttresses the despicable level of corruption in boxing. Oscar De La Hoya is a criminal as far I know. How did a judge score the fight 118-110 against GGG? I mean, I can overlook the tie score but 118-110 against GGG?
Fights that involve Mexicans are difficult because of the level of corruption/ bribery involved.
I was just laughing when I saw that scorecard. Wayo don dey boxing sha no be today. Unfortunately that wench was extremely amateur about it.
Ersan: You're right, i dont have to agree, but it sees you are the sentimental one here.
Nope! Was dealing with raw facts! I would ask you when did Lebron become the best player in the league and on what basis? Just to see if you are consistent
Ersan: I really dont know how to respond to this. But its like they say, "opinions are like as-holes, everyone has one".
You don't have to agree but from 2015 to 2017 Steph Curry has been the only constant in a team that assembled the best record in league history. I maintain that but for Golden State's epic collapse in that final Curry should have rightfully held that crown as best in the league by now. Y'all too sentimental!
Ersan: My point was the Jacobs fight was close though hes nowhere near canelos level. Middle weight or not Cotto is still one of the best boxers around and has a lot of punching power, which canelo survived (when cotto was actually able to hit him). Kirkland is a hard puncher as well.
All this is speculative though. We just have to wait and see....
Lool you can't compare a faux middleweight like Cotto to GGG oh my guy! Punching power yato si punching power oo! Though boxing is not maths but do not for a second think there is anything that can prepare Canelo for the kind of blows he would receive tomorrow, GGG punch power is at super middleweight/cruiserweight level
Ersan: 1... 2. Snake 3. Kawhi 4. Harden (dont know how cp3 will affect him though) 5. Curry 6. Brodie 7. AD 8. Giannis 9. CP3 10.KAT
Lool Curry was IMO the league's best especially in 2015/2016. For me he is top 3 at worst as we speak. In fact but for his 2016 Finals letdown I would have crowned him the best in the league
Ersan: Jacobs is his best opponent till date and many feel jacobs may have actually won that fight. Canelo is definitely getting better and better and he definitely has a chin. 50/50 for sure or maybe 60/40 in GGGs favor.
Tough one to call but i'm with canelo because hes actually my favorite boxer right now.
Lol that one na sentiment. GGG knocked him down, landed more punches and did so more accurately. It was tight but look at GGG's face after the fight, not a scratch!! Remember also that Jacobs is much bigger than Canelo and should probably be fighting at cruiserweight. Does Canelo have a chin? We would find out because he is yet to fight any middleweight of note
Ersan: You cant hit what you cant see! Lol! But yeah its gonna be a tough one and i'm hoping his superior boxing, especially defensive skills will see him through.
Ducking is a very important part of boxing, the question is, is he fighting him at the right time? Is golovkin really past his prime or was he just bored in his previous fights and frustrated he isnt getting the kind of fights he deserves?
I actually see Canelo being a lot slower! He has bulked up for this fight and is even slightly heavier than GGG. It boils down to how well Canelo can counter punch in the end because I doubt he can survive blow to blow with GGG. Remember Canelo is yet to fight any decent middleweight guy while the middleweight ninjas are all running from GGG
Roland17: It would interesting to see how far Canelo goes. He has ducked this fight for too long.
Maybe he feels he has found a chink in GGG's armor. Jacobs took him all the way and Canelo must feel he is entering his prime. Can his chin take GGG's blows? I remember Jacobs ears almost flying out of his head in the last fight
Ibime: I'm in Barbados bro. No ISIS here. I'm currently at an open area called Oistons fish fry where the whole Island goes to eat seafood on a friday night. Jason Roberts (BBC pundit and ex-Blackburn, Wigan and Barbados striker is sitting two tables in front of me with hos family. I don't want to disturb him as he has loads of family with him, but I just papped this pic when he stood up. I may still disturb him for pics later when he goes to leave.
Canelo already ducked him once. He couldn't run forever. It won't be an walkover though. I predict a points decision.
Funny enough a lot of people are giving the fight to Canelo. Though largely based on sentiment as nobody has really given a cogent reason as to why Canelo would win. Based on what I saw Canelo and Chavez Jr fight I think GGG takes this easily. Whether he can knock him down is based on whether he trained hard enough for this fight. He was very rusty against Jacobs
I know one thing for sure this might be the turning point for the season. And for my boxing niggas Afrodoc Nihilist Chic2pimp. Canelo x GGG who ya got?
raumdeuter: Manuel Neuer gathered all the players before training today and asked them to avoid unnecessary talk & actions and focus on football Neuer told the players that what's happening behind the scenes at the moment will eventually have negative effects on the season targets Neuer asked the leading players of the team to take their responsibilities and lead by example [bild]
I like what Neuer did and I think a player's only meeting NBA/NFL style should be held. These guys are all men and should be able to look each other in the eye and tell themselves the truth. This team still has enough to conquer Europe and even if the tactics are not right then at least let the players be seen to be doing their part. Bayern have faced Carlo led teams 8 times and are 0-6-2 against him so he must have been doing something right
afrodoc2: Surely coming from above i.e Kalle and Salihamidzic. Ancelotti is a known slacker in terms of discipline. Meanwhile this Honigstein guy hates Ancelotti wella.
Honigstein is always yarning megedefegede. I'm tired of that ninja and his fake news. Under Pep we were starting well and burning out when it mattered most. I don't know why he is bringing out pitchforks in December
Bville02: Lol.. Egbon no vex.. I don throw shots at you when I was still new here.. Lol.. I Don look ground well.. I don notice every one wey dey here are very intelligent intelligent one way or the other.. Na Cain you go use beat me if no be Nairaland we dey..
Young shall grow. Me sef don throw shots at people wey senior me well well for here when I join this place as a teenager. All of us turn paddy at last. Aye o le to yen oo
airmark: Mats Hummels, Bayern defence caught napping in shock defeat at Hoffenheim.
Abi na only hummels make up una defence?
No writer would put just Mats Hummels there now this guy. What you should ask yourself is why he felt the need to put Mats Hummels even before the Bayern defense. Why didn't he just write " Bayern defense caught napping"
airmark: You exonerated javi, but like me, dayo's reliable medium didn't. That's the point. No sensible soccer analyst will blame hummels and hug javi martinez as you did.
Hummels was the primary culprit for both goals. This one you are saying na grammatical acrobatics. No sane analyst would not blame Hummels for both goals. He was primarily at fault for both of them and sensible analysts agree on this
airmark: There is a reason the headline of that report is:
Mats Hummels, Bayern defence caught napping in shock defeat at Hoffenheim.
That confirmed my earlier view.
Lool you can see black and you are still calling it white. Mats Hummels was the primary culprit and has been singled out by that article. The writer must have known Mats Hummels was part of the defense but still felt the need to mention him first to describe how poor he was
