Bimffo: Zidane has how many CL goals in how many appearances? But these people will always attack Hazard.
Raumdeuter and A40, its not all about goals. I think Cantona has like 5 Champions league goals too. He is still a United Legend. Lol Hazard has just 2 goals from open play. 2! Zidane had helped his team to back to back CL Finals at Hazard's age and the thing is we all know Hazard is a decent player but when people start comparing him to the Messi's, Neymar's, Ronaldo's, Müller's e.t.c then there is need for him to be dragged down to his level. The irony of it all is he is not even Chelsea's best player this year. Yet na him una dey always hype |

Roland17: Part of a coach's job is to effectively manage his roster irrespective of scheduling. While I agree the NBA's scheduling is tough, I would remind u it has been this way, infact this generation has the advantage with the influence of technology and advanced analytics in managing the health of their players. Have you see the MLB/ NHL schedule?
The idea of resting superstars is valid, however, what I am seeing in today's game is the blatant disrespect and abuse of REST.. Coaches target nationally televised games and the chose to rest ALL THEIR SUPERSTARS.. Are you kidding me? Whatever happened to resting one at different times? Why should they all rest games at the same freaking time, and on nationally televised games which tend to attract more fans. It is intentional, and like u said, the fans suffer the most. Well they would tell you part of managing their roster is with this rest. The sheer amount of injuries these days mean you can't ignore the impact of the scheduling anymore. Maybe players nowadays are SAWFT but what do we do? Also bear in mind basketball is a much more tasking sport than baseball and with the NHL players play much shorter minutes. In a 60 minute NHL game a Sidney Crosby, Alex Ovechkin or Patrick Kane would play like 25-27 mins max while a Westbrook or Lebron would play 35-40 if need be. Even the NHL recognize the strain the players endure and gave each team a bye week this season. I agree the mass rest is intentional and is probably these teams way of flipping the bird at the NBA to show they are unhappy about the schedule |

Roland17: Main stream media are a part of this resting problem. Remember when Pop decided to rest his stars on a nationally televised game and he was forced by the NBA to provide valid medical reasons as REST was not cogent enough. Mainstream media heckled Pop for weeks, well the man worked with his medical team and came up with unbelievable diagnosis.
Last week, Kerr decided to do the same and the same media heckled his decision, which I think was right considering the slump in performance by his star players.
This week Lue and the Cavs decides to rest 3 on a nationally televised game and the NBA has pretended like nothing happened. Nothing has come from the league office p, JVG was the only one who gave the CAVs a stick for such disrespect to the game.
This season's play has been the best in 2 years in my opinion, especially in the eastern conference, however, ratings for the NBA has continued to slump in comparison to other major sports and this issue is a factor, especially nationally televised games. I notice the Spurs tend to give advance warning plus the age factor is also there. I don't blame teams for resting players, the scheduling is abysmal and some games you pretty much have to circle as L's before stepping on the court but boy would I be pissed if I bought tickets to see Bron, Irving and Love only for me to be told at the lastest possible minute that they would be rested |

SIRcumalot: I should be asking you to do research. What do the nets have to give for ibaka? I already told you the magic aren't ready to pay ibaka and they had to recoup some thing because of what they gave up.
Because they all are better and if you are asking me even love? I dont know what to say anymore. www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/18683715/orlando-magic-agree-deal-serge-ibaka-toronto-raptors-terrence-ross-1st-round-pickThey were ready to pay but unsure Ibaka would stay. If you go drop zobo make you dey look face. All the teams hustling to land Ibaka were playoff contenders. You can see the Raptors gave away a player and their first round pick for next season. That is what you typically do for a player in demand Na your own opinion be that. If you like you can tell us better. Ofe l'ohun |

SIRcumalot: That wasn't not the terms Na your top 5 be This. AD,blake, dray, milsap, love,Blake porzingod am sure am leaving some people out. I'll spin it the other way round can WB lock up your opponent best scorer ? kawhi can, He can't create for others, big deal they have someone who can. he can create for himself though.
They traded him away because he wasn't good and didn't want to waste money. Nobody is calling him useless his just not very important to what OKC and the magic is doing the fact that his going to leave doesn't mean anything because the Nets will take anybody that can dribble the ball. So the magic Had to save face. Na wa oh. You even mention Blake twice. Life anagaga oh. How are Porzingis and Millsap better than Aldridge? Even Love. Westbrook is a decent defender but that aside. Westbrook has to score, create and still play defense. I have asked which team would cope better. OKC or San Antonio in the event Westbrook and Kawhi go down. Who in that OKC team is as good as Aldridge? Do you even know OKC's backup Point Guard? Ibaka was Orlando's 3rd best scorer. There is a reason Raptors went for him and not Brooklyn Nets. Orlando did not trade Ibaka for lack of ability. Do your research mate |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 6:03pm On Mar 18, 2017 |
SIRcumalot: his not a top 5 PF this season. kawhi will get it best lock down defender on his team and first scoring option. KD yes, ibaka no.my argument is simply,OKC got the better of that trade if they wanted to keep him he'll still be a thunder and the magic had to take another loss again just to get rid of him. so you agree that his padding those number particularly the rebounds ? Who are the Power Forwards better than him. Secondly who OKC get wey dey Aldridge level? I'll wait Ibaka is still a very useful player. Suggesting he was not a loss for OKC is being economical with the truth. The Magic traded him because they were unsure he would stay. Not because of his play Kawhi might be a lockdown defender but can he create? Who would feed the role players? Whether e dey pad or not no really concern me. The numbers don't lie. OKC wins 82% of the games he scores a triple double in. |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 4:17pm On Mar 18, 2017 |
When you people talk about assists sometimes I just laugh. Is it not when your teammates are making shots that you would talk about assists. If Oladipo and Roberson start with their brick fest are there stats that account for that? Bear in mind this is basketball where if I throw you pass the minute you dribble the ball it doesn't even count as an assist anymore |

SIRcumalot: is there anybody on the spurs or the rockets that is top 5 in any position (LMA does not qualify) and injuries are part of these game. harden didn't get the MVP simple. i have no problem with the TD but he his padding numbers what do you call your bigs boxing out so you can grab a rebound. this thunder roster that can't identify a basketball now are the same one minus ibaka and KD that defeated the spurs and almost defeated the warriors, and if you think ibaka is some big loss ask the orlando magic if they would trade for him again. How does LMA not qualify? He no be Spurs player? Harden finished 2nd which is where Westbrook should finish at worst Are you saying Ibaka and K.D are not significant enough losses for OKC to struggle in the West. Because this your argument I no understand am rara. Ibaka was a loss. Orlando is a mess and if Ibaka was no good a contending Raptors would not trade for him OKC are 28-6 when Westbrook scores a triple double. Topic conclude |

sapiosexual1: Aptly put brother , ppls just dey talk like say even double double na beans. How many of the Top players aside Harden and Westbrook are even averaging a double double for the season already? Sometimes we need to put sentiments and bias aside in our assertions. Let us kuku give Curry the MVP na, since his fan boys populate this space This is OKC's record when Westbrook scores and when he doesn't score a triple double. Everybody know say I no like Westbrook for anything but the guy dey try. His team competes every night and have beaten all the big boys bar Golden State.

SIRcumalot: Kanter, adams and oladipo how now ? dey don add taj Gibson. what Westbrook is doing has become overrated to some extent,Harden carried the rockets to the 2nd seed in 13/14 with D12 who was injured and missed alot of games,Harden didn't get the MVP. for me it should be either harden or kawhi because kawhi plays for Pop shouldn't count against him. if he wasn't on the spurs they wont be chasing the first seed. Oladipo and Kanter have missed minimum of 10 games this year. Neither they nor Adams can boast of being top 5 at their position. What is a Taj Gibson? That one no even dey top 10. In 14/15 Harden didn't get the MVP but he was in the discussion. Even the players chose him and he was 2nd in the main votes. Westbrook should finish no lower than 2nd As for the Triple Double yarns the stats lucidly and blatantly show he has to get them for his team to win. So the idea he is padding flies out the window. That Spurs team would make playoffs with or without Kawhi. Same can't be said for OKC. Kawhi can have an off night. Westbrook cannot have an off possession |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by A40(m): 6:07pm On Mar 17, 2017 |
Eruditor: Kawhi is not getting that much attention because NBA fans change opinions after every game. Russell is having a phenomenonal individual season but his team is 6th. How can he be the most valuable when 5 other teams are better than his? That's just like saying the MVP of the finals came from a team whose player didn't even get to the finals.
We don't need to get emotional about things. What's the fuss about a triple double; a ton of those rebounds are forced. Dude is still wrestling his centers for routine rebounds from missed FTs like man - give it a rest, you are great. I only respect the APGs and PPGs because no matter what, those are hard to force.
I still think the race is 3-way with LBJ having an outside chance but if Russell can somehow get his team to 4th- then he should share it with Harden or at worst win it. While I think Westbrook is saltier than Lot's wife. The guy is playing his yansh off abeg. The teams ahead are ahead because they have more talent. Take out Westbrook and OKC are worse than the Brooklyn Nets. I still think he or Harden should be MVP |
