Ward is a very good boxer, he had to move up in weight to fight Kovalev who is a natural light heavy weight. At super middle weight Ward was damaging people. However, 4-4-2 has been tweaked over the years and your LW in a 4-4-2 double 6 formation will never be a LW technically unless the formation will change to 4-2-4. LM has a more defensive role to play than LW. For example diamond formation of 4-4-2 will never have LW, but LM. We all remember ancelotti's formation.
