MRBrownJ: swerve, slight move, 360turn... call it what you want so long as you've seen what i am talking about.
Unku, Gutierrez's slight drift was not sufficient rationale for your boy to try and throw his life away. What kind of igbo was he smoking that made him assume he could pass there?
MRBrownJ: if there was no gap, as you wrongly claimed earlier then why should he have to swerve/slightly move to to cover his position?! the reality is that if Gut hadnt made that move then Alonso would have probably overtaken him
You are contradicting yourself now. So if Guti slightly moved to cover his position then why should the crash be blamed on anyone but Alonso. What kind of nutjob tries to overtake when he can't even see past the rear of the car ahead of him? This Alonso admitted himself
MRBrownJ: of course but if the car aint shiit then there is so much a driver can do before they have to accept that this car AINT competitive enough.
MRBrownJ: here is a simple clue: A) if Alonso's abilities as a driver had anything to do with Ferrari's dreadful car back then, then Kimi (with his "supposedly" better abilities) would have won races then, and not only when Alonso left. the fact that both Ferrari drivers were losing then, and suddenly both are challenging at the top now, clearly points towards the CAR being the reason for such resurgence, not drivers abilities.
Kimi is every bit as washed up as Alonso. I don't know what you mean by challenging at the top since Kimi didn't make the top 3 in the Driver's Championships last year. There has been improvements but its still down to the drivers to compete
MRBrownJ: B) how can you blame Alonso's abilities for the poor performance of this new partnership between Mc Laren and Honda? is Button qualifying higher than Alonso, and lapping faster each and every races? sadly, it aint the case as we clearly see every weekend Alonso "outdriving/outqualifying" his teammate. Alonso is one of the best drivers out there today, stuck in a shiitty car.
Lol Button? Don't make me cry plix
MRBrownJ: again, IMHO Senna will always remain the best ever F1 driver of all times, and Schumacher is right there somewhere behind, along with a few others. you can take all the precautions you desire and still crash, because there will always be a foolish driver in front of you making a slight move "trying to protect his position", not understanding the way great drivers think.
To each his own. I'd always rate Schummie higher. Benneton Ford had no business winning the title the year they did unlike Senna who had above and beyond the best car in all his wins pretty much
You can defend Alonso's m0ronic drive till you are blue in the face, but if holding your own and denying a "great driver" that cannot intelligently pick the right time to pull of an overtake means you don't understand how "great drivers" think. Then so be it
raumdeuter: You hear say Schweinsteiger is injured again?
May God bless Man utd for taking away his 12M a yr wages off our books and pay us 10M in transfer fees
Please tell Woodward that we would have Ribery on a discount sale by next season as per customer concern
I feel really silly for kicking against his sale. I do remember some Man U fans on and off NL getting jiggy with it on his arrival but I reminded them of a certain Owen Hargreaves
Make dem come collect Ribery F.O.C
I hope Basti can make the Euros even if its just to be a mascot like Mertesacker or Podolski, he deserves a Euro title
Donlittle: I just heard this morning that parsons is out for the whole year again. You know during the year we drafted larkin, i wanted Schroeder or Giannis, i wish we could have made a deal to get one of them. Dallas is definitely out of the playoff race, and even if we make it, we are going to exit first round exit. Like i always said, i wish cuban could have put around dirk better players than this.
We are just going to wait till western conference finals to see. Hopefully, there will not be an upset. Its funny though, no team in the east can beat these championships contenders in the west in a 7 game series
Parsons looking like a bust already. The Mavs should have taken a team option and just opt out of extending him, now they have to hope he opts out. With the nature of his injuries they would be dodging a bullet. Try to lure a ninja like Harrison Barnes or Khris Middleton maybe Durant lol if they are available and not completely waste Dirk's last few years in the league
Cuban for all his shark tank genius has been quite puzzling with his NBA related decisions. Just look at the Rondo trade and how he got phucked seven ways from Sunday
Here's also wishing Craig Sager the best, his cancer prognosis is not good at all
MRBrownJ: the best ever F1 driver killed himself while pushing his car to its limits, thats the price sometimes these greats have to pay.
The best ever F1 driver is still alive last time I checked and we are all hoping he recovers too
I do not subscribe to taking unnecessary risks. Stepping into a car that moves at over 300km/h every week is risk enough and if one must push the limits do it with some goddamn sense
Whatever accolade is not worth dying before one's time. That was a very silly move by Alonso, he needs to regard his life a bit more
MRBrownJ: yeah... but you wouldnt blame the loss of that same race (who still had 37+ laps to go, while you still were in P1 at restart) on the guy who crashed.
Yes you can if it previously undid all the hardwork the guy in the lead previously did especially when the guys right behind you are blessed with an obviously FASTER car. You wouldn't say this if it were Alonso involved
Prior to that crash Vettel was a lock to win. Fact
MRBrownJ: Gutierez did slightly move left where the gap was, and expecting a racing driver not to aim for an opening is the reason why we have 2 sets of drivers out there. a great driver sees and take such opportunity, thats what makes them UNIQUE
Alonso was faster, the car handled better, the brakes were right, so why wouldnt he go for the gap?!
You have gone from SWERVE to SLIGHTLY MOVE. Wunderbar! We are making progress
Are we saying Gutierrez shoulda acted like a sitting duck and do nothing to protect his position?
MRBrownJ: check the video below, A) there is a CLEAR gap to overtake and B) we can clearly see Gutierrez car slightly move to his left at the 27-29sec mark.
Better tell your boy to stop playing tete with his life F1 is dangerous enough as it is
1)Alonso tried to make that pass while in a slipstream and couldn't even see beyond Gutierrez rear. That was extremely reckless and unnecessary
2) He pumped his brakes far too late and nearly brought calamity upon himself
He almost got KILLED and definitely would have if he tried this move in the Senna/Prost era hell even in the Schummie/Hakkinen period
MRBrownJ: you are entitled to your opinion, but the only reason Ferrari is better today is because they simply got their shiit together and built a BETTER car than when Alonso was with them. insinuating that his departure from Ferrari is the reason why they are suddenly improving is PREPOSTEROUS!
You of all people should know that the drivers have a role in the improvement of a car. Whether its working with the engineers or simply giving them helpful feedback that makes their job easier
You are also entitled to your opinion but I don't buy the fact that McLaren Honda's decline and Ferrari's simultaneous resurgence have nothing to do with Alonslow's waning abilities as a driver. Abi you see tribal mark for my face?
Donlittle: It is not about if the spurs can play like that for seven games, it is about how many games they would play before they get to the conference finals, and how many games the warriors plays. If any team succeeds to push the spurs to seven games, there might be a problem, and i am afraid some team might. If dallas meets with spurs, i would not expect an easy win over dallas, although they will win. Carlise always seems to know how to play the spurs.
I think the reason why dellavadova got tired early was because he was the only one that could stay on curry. If you watch the spurs game, for the few seconds i did. It was a lot of switching between green, Parker, and kawhi, although parker did most of the job. When we look at the spurs, all their guards can stay on curry. All of them.
We all know if you disrupt curry's flow early on in the fourth quarter, the team struggles. It has always happened.
We are talking about a hypothethical series. I do agree anyone potentially facing the Warriors in the Finals has more games to play anyway.
I don't expect much from this Dallas team vs the Spurs. They are an unserious bunch. Dirk aside the rest have been a massive disappointment especially Parsons and Matthews who have been wildly inconsistent. I also find it appalling that the Mavs have not drafted anyone remotely competent since Josh Howard back in 03/04
Besides the switches on Curry the absence of Iggy and their bigs was another issue. That game screamed for someone that could slash and bang in the paint as well essentially giving Steph and co room to work.
Parker cannot stay on Steph all series long, Kawhi might but it will hurt his offense and create other matchup problems plus I personally don't think he can guard Steph. Danny Greeen has always been my candidate from day 1 tbh
MRBrownJ: come on bro, Alonso crashed on lap 17 (out of 57) and Ham got on medium tyres a lap before, that means Ferrari had plenty of time to REACT, and they foolishy didnt. why blame anyone but them?!
as for blaming Alonso for that crash, or remotely claiming that great drivers dont crash with careless drivers (who are swerving all over the track), i can only blame such poor statement on your usual biased views towards Alonso. during the F1 after race, Anthony Davidson clearly showed Gutierrez steering wheel swerving where Alonso was trying to overtake, thus being the reason for the damn collision. Alonso is only being diplomatic about the issue because he aint fighting for the championship anyway (with such dreadful car)
as for winning again, he only needs a good (not even great) car to do that...... just watch!
Dude even an event in lap 1 could turn a race on its head never mind lap 17. They took a gamble albeit a naive one but Seb was nevertheless cruising at that point
As for the crash that was clearly Alonso's fault. He tried to squeeze through a non existent window and almost got himself killed in the process. You are about the only one I've seen on webspace pin the crash on Gutierrez which is poignant because he is notorious for getting into crashes
Alonso is washed up and that is the inconvenient truth. We saw his last two years at Ferrari and the instant recovery they've made since he left. Lets see who would be willing to take that high maintenance diva at 36
The 2012 season had a bit of drama because Webber did not step up
2010 was a three way race and vettel stole in from.behind on Webber n Alonso
Deeper than that. Hamilton and the Mercs arguably had the fastest car, especially in the first half of 2012. Vettel was well out of the chase till Singapore when he turned things around
MRBrownJ: there wasnt any "dominance" last weekend and they barely got away with that one... or did you miss the few last laps when Vettel was creeping on Ham (until he made that biatch mistake)?
Lol at least he didn't damn near get himself killed like some people we know
MRBrownJ: come on bro, we arent gonna start this F1 season with bias statement like the one above in bold!!!! although the red flag was a decisive point of the race, Vettel could have still won the race if Ferrari had taken the RIGHT decision then and pitted for medium. so blame Ferrari for that 3rd place finish, nobody else... same with Ricciardo.
yes, Vettel showed that he is up there with a great chance to give Mercs a run for their money (and make this season a possible gem) but i believe that Ricciardo is up there too.
as for saying that Alonso is finished, i beg to differ... and i will go even further and say that i believe he will win another championship before he retires.
I agree partially they really should have pitted but that is one way of looking at it. They also probably thought and ended up trying to build a lead then pit knowing fully well they might not have won another face off with the Mercs.
Still but for Alonso's m0ronic driving Vettel was winning that race easy. When Alonso is at fault in a collision with Esteban goddamn Gutierrez you realize how much the mighty have fallen
Another Championship? Alonso is likely not winning another race never mind Championship. He's done braah
raumdeuter: Th Dembele guy. I heard we are working on a deal to buy him then loan him back to Rennes for a year and he would move over in 2017
9 goals in Ligue 1 and he only got his debut in November. Can play either wing and my Congolaise and Cameroonian brethren who follow Ligue 1 religiously say he would be a big deal soon so we need to move fast
Mizzzbeee: I am not even bothered that spurs won. But the way they won is what coach pop should be bothered about. That type of hard defense has a disadvantage, and that is fatigue. You tend to wear out rapidly. Every time the clock was stopped, you could see spurs players hold their knees. They were gassed. For eg Dellovadova on curry last finals . Come on they started defending from the full court. I don't think it's possible to keep that up in a 7 game series. I love Golden state Warriors because the team is built upon playing smart basketball to playing hard basketball.
They won by just 8 with Curry 1-12 from the 3. Pertinent to note
Its hard to rule out fatigue and GSW's poor record as a factor. However credit must be given to Pop and the Spurs for putting on a defensive clinic on how to stop Golden State
I have noticed Steph tends to get shook when his shots don't start falling early. Playing suffocating D on him sometimes throws him off balance and he starts missing shots he usually makes. Happened last year's finals, vs Lakers when Kobe decided to guard him and on Saturday night
The problem is can you keep this up in 7 games over 14 days or less? With Parker guarding Curry or Kawhi guarding but needing to score on the other end? What happens when you play excellent defense and these guys just start making their shots.
We would get a clearer picture after the two games left between these guys. One more thing Pop showed is that using the small ball can work provided you have the personnel
Dortmund are not phucking around this year. I fully expected them to draw yesterday but they won and convincingly too. I hope they go all the way in the Europa League
Leverkusen slowly making their way backup. Ironically without the contributions of the "Bundesliga icon"
Lewandowski: 44 goals for club and country this season
International break this week, lets hope no new injuries pop up
MRBrownJ: ooooooh my brotha A40, it seems that this year, only the best driver will get this championship! if Vettel hadnt shaken in his bloody boots, we might have seen a wonderful battle at the end for 2nd/3rd place!
Haas finishing 6th on their 1st ever F1 race while motherfukcing "mighty" Mc Laren/Honda cant even get a decent bloody race or even points?! WTF!!!! these bastards are testing my nerves! what is it with that God forsaken Mc Laren BS car?!
I need a drink!
Shaken? Your wasteman Alonso pretty much cost the Vettelmeister the race! Why can't he just retire and spare us the ignominy of watching him crawl to the finish every other week, its not like he is ever going to challenge for another title
Prior to the crash Vettel had that race in the bag. Just ran out of laps to pass Hamilton. I'm confident my boy would be in the running this year. He is the only one that can break the Merc monopoly
MRBrownJ: lol, i can see that you have lost none of your Vettelmania spirit this year... good on you, we'll have much to debate, discuss and/or even argue about, this year again.
so what you mean to say above is that, when Vettel was alone and ahead of everyone it was better to watch than today, when "both" Mercs are fighting it out at the front (even though Ham is often the better driver)? well you are entitled to your opinion, but keep that in mind for a sec and let us savour the few days/hrs we have left until the 1st race of the 2017 season, before we can get on with the heavy discussions.
as for any "legit challenger", let us also wait until FP3/QUALI at least to see how all these cars have improved this year. many of these teams were sandbagging, and we wont know how much until early sunday morning ... but then again, with such BS weather forecast and even "crappier" practice sessions, there is no way we can have a proper image of who is where in the queue (behind the Mercs), and most importantly, how close they are this time around. we may ultimately have to wait until Bahrain before we can have a decent idea of what time it really is with this F1 2016/2017 champs.
may the best man win and as usual, VAMOS ALONSO... make us proud with that "seemingly" BS car of yours!!!! yeah, i am hoping for some divine/baba Ijebu intervention and miracles here.
We just dey push am brethren. Team Vettel all day the boy bounced back spectacularly last year and I expect even more from him this time around
Can you tell me truthfully the last time we witnessed the title drama of 2010 and 2012? Are you claiming the largely one-sided rivalry between Rosberg and Hamilton matched that? You call what went down a fight? Lol was there ever a time Rosberg looked like he could win the title? How many times did he outduel Hamilton? Of course it was a two-man race largely because both Mercs were so far ahead of the rest.
Australia is always a toss up. Especially the race itself but qualifying tends to give you an idea of who is who
sleekdot: Rumor coming out says Robben actually has an adductor muscle injury Definitely out of the weekend game and should take the international break to rest when is the quarter final
I hope we get Man City
Ribery was just dribbling senselessly yesterday and delaying on the ball. Ribery needs to retire.
I know he likes to act like area father to Alaba COman and the youngings but we cant be paying top dollar for an area father
ALso I think this game would erase whatever plans alaba has to play in midfield
Still cant believe we pulled that off. I hear every winner would need a lucky break unless you are chelsea who gets 4 lucky breaks
Probably yesterday was our lucky break
Just good to know we have options now. Only God know wetin these people dey take their blockus do. Robben is definitely out for the break as well
Alaba really fall my hand on an International scale yesterday, I no go too blame Lahm because arugbo ti de but we gats strengthen at the 2 n 3 this summer
Bayern no be creche oh. Make Ribery just respect himself retire after next season while Robben can be managed till 2018
If Lewandowski ever leaves I no go mind that Morata rara. That boy just needs to apply himself more. He is a complete forward
Bayern vs City Madrid vs Barca Atleti vs PSG Benfica vs Wolfsburg
With Ribery coming in the 2nd half for either of Costa or Coman. I think Pep would start Thiago in place of Alonso though
Tbh we need to give Arjen and Franck a send off like Peyton Manning. We are the only elite club in Europe with 33 year old wingers. If say na last season our own don finish
