The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has prophecied that the harsh economic situation in the country would lead to protests making Nigerian stone governors.
In a statement by his media aide on Monday, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele was quoted as saying that petrol would become scarce again with the government at all levels finding it difficult to pay workers’ salaries.
He also stated that the impending economic disaster would see Nigerians buy diesel for N1000 per litre and petrol for N300 per litre.
“An economic disaster is coming very soon, before the end of this year. It will be so grave that we will revert back to the days of austerity measures. Diesel will sell for as high as N800 to N1000 per litre.
“Petrol will become scarce and, at the end of the day, it will move up to N300 per litre. Things will become extremely difficult for Nigerians. The truth is that Nigeria’s reserve is in red. The country is in massive debt.
“The country will be in such a big financial mess that some state governments will not be able to pay their workers. Governors and Honourables will be stoned and there will be several protests.
“Even the police will go on strike if care is not taken. Things will get so bad that they will not be able to pay those protecting us their stipends.
It has become epileptic and this will affect Nigeria and it may cause chaos, protests, crisis and the Buhari government might be shut down for 5 to 6 hours in protests,” Ayodele was quoted as saying.
However, Ayodele added that the government should look to God to avert the impending problems and also create an intelligent economic team to help redirect Nigeria’s economy.
“The government must involve God if at all they want changes and they should create an intelligent economic team to redirect the economy. We need to bring back our agriculture, the oil is having issues already,” he added.

The Leader Of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Friday, warned President Vladimir Putin of Russia over his invasion of Ukraine.
Primate Ayodele warned that Putin would not go scot-free because he has resisted God’s warning to put an end to the crisis.
In a statement by his Media Aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the clergyman disclosed that plans to assassinate Putin is underway because he didn’t listen to God.
It would be recalled that Primate Ayodele warned the President a few days after the invasion that he should end the war because he foresees an assassination attempt on his life.
Unfortunately, Putin has not put an end to the war, causing more destruction in Ukraine as against the warnings sent to him by the man of God.
However, the clergyman noted that a Russian soldier will be used to execute the assassination plan.
‘’President Vladimir Putin of Russia has gone against God’s warnings. I warned him to put an end to the invasion of Ukraine but he didn’t listen. Just like Pharaoh whose heart was hardened against God’s children but perished, Putin will not go scot-free.
‘’I still insist that this war will not lead to third world war, it will come to an end but President Putin will not go scot-free, a Russian soldier will be used to execute the plans to take his life,’’ he said.
ABUJA- ACADEMIC Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has vowed not to involve itself in any round of renegotiation with the federal government concerning its 2009 agreement with the latter.
The union’s position came as the government reconstituted a renegotiation team on the 2009 agreement, following the ongoing strike that has paralysed academic activities in public varsities across the country.

Reacting to the government’s action in an exclusive interview with Vanguard, Thursday evening, Prof. Osodeke, said ASUU was waiting for the government to implement its demands so that lecturers go return to the classroom.
“We don’t know what they (federal government) are talking about, we have nothing to negotiate with the government. As far as we are concerned, we have concluded negotiation with the government,” he said.

The Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige has said that any proposed increase in allowances and salaries by the Academic Staff Union of Universities that is not in sync with the National Salaries and Wages Commission will not scale through.
The minister also advised the union to work with what was obtainable with the National Salaries Income and Wages Commission and the Presidential Steering Committee on salaries and wages.
Saturday PUNCH reports that ASUU and the Federal Government had begun a series of negotiations aimed towards the suspension of the four-week strike declared by the union.
ASUU during its extraordinary National Executive Council meeting held at the University of Lagos on February 14,2022 had declared the action over what it claimed was the failure of the government to meet its lingering demands, including earned allowances, release of revitalization funds for universities, increase in salary scale of lecturers, deployment of the UTAS payment platform for university workers, among others.
Following ASUU’s declaration, religious organizations, House of Representatives, Students bodies among others had called on the Federal Government to prevail on the union to end the strike.
Speaking to Saturday PUNCH, Ngige explained that one of ASUU’s major demands was centered on the increase in allowances and salaries.
According to the minister, increment in salaries and allowances is a process that undergoes due process.
He said, “The demands were not new areas, but issues already being addressed by the Federal Government since last year.
“That is why I said we are shocked that they went on this strike. These issues were discussed November/ December last year up to the time we paid the monies for the Earned Academic Allowances. It was done last year. We paid N22.172 billion. So, they have received the money.
“The second area is renegotiation of the 2009 agreement. It talks about renegotiation of their conditions of service, both salaries and allowances. I made it clear to them that there is a government process. The Federal Ministry of Education alone cannot wake up and increase your salaries.
“There are known rates for allowances and any proposal not in sync with what the National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission prescribed would not sail through.
“I made it clear to ASUU that they should follow the normal route and work with the NSIWC and PSC in pursuit of their demands.
“So, if you are talking about duty tour allowances for a lecturer in the university, who is also a public officer, it must not be above what is presently rolled out as the new guideline. If you are talking about hazard allowance, it must not be above what is obtainable for the university system.”
Total varsity shutdown looms as SSANU, others threaten strike In a related development, a total shutdown of universities in the country may be imminent following a fresh strike notice to the Federal Government over non-implementation of signed agreements by the National Association of Academic Technologists, Senior Staff Association of Nigeria Universities and the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions.
The threat is coming barely 13 days after the Academic Staff Union of Universities declared a one-month warning strike which has crippled academic activities in universities nationwide.
The Joint Action Committee of NASU and SSANU said at its meeting on February 24, 2022, it has reviewed the status of the Memorandum of Understanding reached with the Federal Government following its industrial action of January and February 2021.
Addressing journalists in Abuja on Friday, President of NAAT, Ibeji Nwokoma explained that each branch of the union would hold congresses between March 15 – 16 to discuss the response of the FG to their demands.
He said the university technologists have given the government February 28 to March 14 to implement its demands, adding that the Joint Action Committee comprising SSANU and NASU have put its members on “red alert” over a possible strike.
He added that a two-week warning strike would be declared by NAAT on March 17, 2022 at the expiration of the two-week grace if there was no positive response from the government.
In a statement jointly signed by the General Secretary, NASU, Prince Peters Adeyemi and National President of SSANU, Mohammed Ibrahim, the JAC said, “Having waited one whole year for the consummation of the Memorandum of Understanding and despite all peaceful entreaties, we wish to notify all stakeholders in the Nigerian universities and Inter-University Centres and indeed all Nigerians of the possible breakdown of industrial peace in the university system borne out of disrespect for Collective Bargaining Agreements reached with NASU and SSANU by Government.”
Some of the demands of the unions include non – full implementation of the 2009 agreement, alleged refusal to release the enabling circular for the implementation of CONTISS 14 & 15 for Academic Technologists as contained in the MOU of 2017, 2020 and 2021; non-payment of Earned Allowance as agreed in the MoU of 2021 and delay in renegotiation of 2009 agreement.
UBA has been deducting money from those doing international transactions illegally for months now. It could be coming from this angle. UBA is the only bank with this $20 spending limit so far.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities has declared a “comprehensive and total” strike.
The strike was declared at a press conference addressed by the President of ASUU, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, on Monday.
He said the strike, which commences on Monday, February 14, 2022, would last for an initial period of four weeks.
Members of the union’s National Executive Council had held marathon meetings since Saturday at the University of Lagos titled, ‘NEC for NEC.’
ASUU had sensitised and mobilised lecturers and students across all universities on the reason the union might likely go on strike.
Backgound The union had expressed grievances over the failure of the Federal Government to fulfil some of the agreements it made as far back as 2009. ASUU had on November 15, 2021, given the federal government a three-week ultimatum over the failure to meet the demands.
The lecturers threatened to embark on another round of industrial action following the alleged “government’s unfaithfulness” in the implementation of the Memorandum of Action it signed with the union, leading to the suspension of the 2020 strike action. After the union’s National Executive Council meeting at the University of Abuja on November 13 and 14, ASUU President, Prof. Emmanuel Osodeke, lamented that despite meeting with the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr. Chris Ngige, on October 14, 2021, on issues, including funding for revitalisation of public universities, earned academic allowances, University Transparency Accountability Solution; promotion arrears, renegotiation of 2009 ASUU-FGN Agreement, and the inconsistencies in Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System Payment, none of its demands had been met. Following the threat, the Minister of State for Education, Emeka Nwajiuba, promised that the union would be paid.
A few weeks after, ASUU suspended the planned strike, as N22.1 billion earned allowances were paid to lecturers in federal universities.
On the heels of the union’s renewed agitations, the co-chairmen of the National Inter-religious Council, the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Abubakar III, and the President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Dr. Samson Ayokunle, visited the President, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), last month, over the lack of implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding the government signed with ASUU in 2009 and others.
I don't know why I dislike this amateur commentator on supersport TV. He must talk about Tunisia vs Nigeria match in every game. He will never stop praising that disaster called Tunisia.
