horlawaleh001: This is just to reiterate what has been said so far cos if you'd gone back by a few pages on this thread, this issue had been dealt with extensively.
Advantages of staying in the hostel.
1. Adequate electricity supply
2. No extra cost on transportation.
3. You are at close proximity to class, library etc.
4. Free / relatively cheap internet facility.
5. Water supply
6. Cheap accommodation..... Less than 30k

Disadvantages of staying in the hostel.
1. No non-member of the hostel is allowed in. So you can only host your guests in the common room.
2. Toilets and bathrooms (to my own taste) are not too good.
3. No lockers/wardrobe. Like a friend of mine said, you have to chain your box and things to your bed.
4. Intrusion into privacy. You might leave the room and come back to discover that one of your shoes is missing and then you'll find out that a roommate wore it out without your consent...... And things like that.
5. Mosquitoes & other pests.
6. No kitchen..... Cooking is done in the verandah.

That's all I can come up with for now...... Weigh the options and make your decision.

rkarang: As you can see, it seems very difficult to get. The university only has one hostel for male students and also allocates it on faculty basis.

Unfortunately, I can't afford to raise 75k for the private hostel. It's so painful.


I don't just know how to go about... Staying off campus will be quite difficult for me. If that's what I have to resort to, I'll definitely get a bicycle ni yen ooo....



If the porters are "rugged" folks, it will be very good... We could runs things

teewhysafe: Yes, there are wardrobes too. and you are ofcourse allowed to cook. electrical appliances like boiling ring, electrical stove etc are frowned upon but still students use it a lot in cooking sha

Khan1993: i agree with you but you see unilorin is not a school that should determine ones faith like this. I merit the fucking course for crying out loud. Fine unilorin requires legging, the governor of kwara state signed my papers(bliv it or nt).. And here i am with PLB. Someone that didnt got up to my score was giving a medical course. Partaining the future about plant biologist...sir, this is nigeria where darwin's theory is very much in use..natural selection Survival of the fittest. Tell you what, if another university gives me PLB next year, i will gladly do it. Cos then i will know this is what fate has installed for me. What i need now is God intervention in my life. faboben10: i did basic in 2011, yeah it z quite competitive i must confess. Med & surg z always d most populated departmt.
D best 10 students will unarguably be admitted on merit basis. D southerners have an edge after d merit, but luck and God's factor sets in here 2.
Don't 4get no1 has d right 2b better than u unless u gv them d right, u can make d best 10.
