1. "In the South generally, Rice was never our staple food, we used to eat it mostly during festive season...

2. Yam, Cassava etc were the main food here in the past...

3. We were cultivating them irrespective of your status in those days...

Then he said, "many of you might have seen my Whatsapp status. I cultivated 200 yams inside bags in my compound"...

"But why did I do that when I hardly take yam? I just want you all to see it and be encouraged to do same because even this one, you already know that I will give almost everything out after harvesting them"

"I will update my status and repeat same in the Church as those Yams grow"...

Then Pastor said "I challenge you all to go and do same, even if it's just 5 or 10 bags in your compound, plant it, let's see who will stop the yams from growing in abundance if we all do this.....You may also do same for other stuff".

Me: That is LEADERSHIP, not the ones that only talk about present challenges to instigate people without proffering practicable local solution...

AGAIN, POLICE RESCUE ANOTHER KIDNAPPED VICTIM IN FCT.

As CP Reiterates Commitment to Keep FCT Safe for All and Sundry.

In a continued effort to rid FCT of Criminality, Police Operatives attached to Iddo Divisional Headquarters on Sunday 21st January, 2024, at about 1130hrs rescued another kidnapped victim, one Suleiman Sabo 'm', from Kidnappers in Sauka, along Airport Road, Abuja.

In the rescue operation, one Muhammad Abel 'm' aged 32 from Kogi state was equally apprehended and one (1) LAR rifle with ten (10) rounds of life ammunition recovered from him.

The victim who sustained some injuries from the kidnappers, is currently receiving medical attention, and would be reunited with his family once certified fit by the medical team.

The Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Haruna G. Garba, psc, wishes to reiterate the Command's commitment to rid FCT of Criminality in all its manifestations and maintenance of peace for all and sundry. AIR STRIKES NEUTRALIZED NOTORIOUS KIDNAPPER, JANARI, IN KADUNA STATE

Air strikes undertaken by the air component of Operation WHIRL PUNCH, on Thursday, 18 January 2024, have neutralized a well-known terrorist and kidnap kingpin popularly known as Janari and several members of his syndicate. Janari and his cohorts have been responsible for several attacks and abductions within Kaduna State as well as along the Abuja-Kaduna highway. The strikes were authourized after Janari and his gang were sighted at a location near Gadar Katako in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Further exploitation revealed that they were massing up for a likely attack or kidnapping of vulnerable civilians, hence the need to immediately attack the location. Intelligence received after the strike revealed that Janari was indeed eliminated alongside several other terrorists/kidnappers. Similar air strikes were also carried out on 20 January 2024 on confirmed terrorists and kidnappers’ hideouts near Chukuba in Niger State with various degrees of success. Feedback after the strikes was also positive as it confirmed that the targets were neutrlized and their mobility destroyed.

Collaborative efforts by the NAF and other security agencies will continue across all locations suspected of harbouring terrorists and kidnappers.

As Brother Fakes Kidnap to Defraud Family.

The FCT police Command is aware of the news making rounds about an alleged kidnapping incident at River Park estate in the early hours of today and wishes to state that contrary to reports, nobody was kidnapped in River Park Estate.

One Nnandi Agu 'm' of Games Village only faked his own kidnap in an attempt to defraud his brother who lives within the said Estate.

The suspect is currently in police custody undergoing interrogation.

While investigation is still ongoing, further developmentd would be communicated to the public.

Ukraine shoots down Russian A-50 surveillance plane and IL-22 command aircraft
Reports say that the A-50 radar plane was downed over the Sea of Azov while the IL-22 M command plane was dam The Ukrainian Air Force shot down a Russian A-50 long-range radar detection and control airplane and an IL-22 command plane over the Sea of Azov on Sunday evening, Ukrainian Army Commander in Chief Valery Zaluzhny said in a statement.

"I am grateful to the air force for the perfectly planned and executed operation in the Azov Sea region!" he said.

According to the earlier reports the A-50 was downed, while the IL-22 could have managed to land somewhere in Russia. Russian pro-war channels claimed that the IL-22 managed to land, but there were wounded on board.

Even though the Kremlin has not confirmed it yet, Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleshchuk said in a cryptic message: “This is for Dnipro, monsters. Burn in hell! Can’t provide details yet.”

He illustrated his message with a plane emoji and a photo of a civilian building that Russians hit with a missile in Dnipro on January 14 last year, killing more than 30 people.

Yuriy Mysiahin, a Ukrainian MP and a member of the parliament's defense committee, had more details. According to his statement, around 9 p.m. on Sunday, Ukrainian forces fired at two Russian military aircraft — an A-50 and an IL-22, which was shadowing the radar plane as both were flying over the Sea of Azov.

“The A-50 was shot down, and the IL-22M was damaged, but it was in the air and tried to reach the nearest airfield, but it disappeared from the radar after the descent began, in the Kerch area of Crimea,” Mysiahin said in a statement.

Russian pro-war telegram channels so far are divided on what happened over Azov. Some, like Russian aviation blogger and military pilot Fighterbomber were “mourning the tragedy” while channels like Rybar said that “if the downing is confirmed ... this will be another black day for the Russian Air Force and Air Defense Forces."

“A tragedy is always a tragedy especially when it is of such a scale. Who is to blame for the deaths of the pilots, we will most likely never find out. To the dead I wish the eternal flight, to the wounded, a speedy recovery and return to service,” Fighterbomber said.
