barackodam:Funny signature by the way. It could mean 'there is soap' or 'it is drivable' too. |
franklyn009:Really, so you now know what is on people's mind? And you know the look of hatred? Please, where and when did you get your supernatural power? |
Sissie:Let me pick out a place; O you who have believed, let not a people ridicule [another] people; perhaps they may be better than them; nor let women ridicule [other] women; perhaps they may be better than them. And do not insult one another and do not call each other by [offensive] nicknames. Wretched is the name of disobedience after [one's] faith. And whoever does not repent - then it is those who are the wrongdoers. O you who have believed, avoid much [negative] assumption. Indeed, some assumption is sin. And do not spy or backbite each other. Would one of you like to eat the flesh of his brother when dead? You would detest it. And fear Allah ; indeed, Allah is Accepting of repentance and Merciful. (Al-hujurat: 11-12) These verses contain admonitions we Muslims do not hear everyday. While many Muslims tend to emphasize on the 5 pillars of Islam, keep their beard or wear the hijab, they still fail in following the instructions above. When we improve on and beyond the pillars of Islam and start following other instructions of Allah and the sunnah of the prophet (SAW), then we are becoming better Muslims. |
^^^Ameen. |
You have two questions in one post. 1) What does being a better Muslim mean to you? 2) Is your life itself da'wah? Being a better Muslim is when you strive to achieve or improve on what Allah has made a condition for you to be admitted in Jannah and following the sunnah of the prophet (SAW) as much as you can. Is my life itself da'wah? I don't really know. |
OP, is there going to be an update today? |

A beautiful message. |
This topic has been thrashed already ⬇⬇ https://www.nairaland.com/1456382/know-names-basic-colours-local Mods keep putting the same topics on the front page. |
I congratulate them. May Allah's blessing be with them and us. |
soonest:You write too much bile for a lady. Anyways, I don't want to comment on the topic anymore so you have the floor. |
pentagonal:That is going to be hard though. Nice point @OP, I see that how you approach issues is not swayed by sentiments, thank you. |
^^^Replying you is debilitating, I leave you to your baseless assertions. Till another time and another topic in a different section, I say bye. |
ola20ng:Eid Mubarak to you too bro. |

superstar1: he will go to the caliphate of ISIL to achieve his dream of full shariah and not in Nigeria.Yet you find the words sentimental and cynical insulting. You just couldn't resist writing all these to feel good about yourself. |
OlaoChi: Shut ur lying mouth, or fingers What happened to your real moniker?Well, there is no system that allows every right but others can still claim their rights (reasonable ones) in a shari'ah. Democracy came in that guise and you can see its flaws. About your second post, Ifa you say, is culture but it is also a cult. What sort of religion requires you to be occultic? I know that your reply, if there is any, is going to be insulting but I'm used to your method........and nobody is interested in your cult here. |
superstar1: i will enjoin you to please tow the line of mutual respect without name calling. I respect people that respect themselves on NL and take on the ones with bad mouths in equal measures.I wasn't calling you names, I only qualified you with words that I felt could describe your stance more appropriately. With proof, if others can show that they are expected to dress in a particular manner, they surely have the right to demand that the uniforms accommodate their modes of dressing. That is how it is in the UK, I've seen pictures of girls wearing the hijab to school without people of other faiths having issues with it. We are not asking them to wear jalabia, we are asking for the hijab for their heads only. Something like this will not die easily if it keeps getting denied. No other religion sets a standard in all ramifications as Islam. PS: We once had a conversation about this in the past and it is obvious that none of us would agree with the other. You will see that there is nothing bad in it if you keep a clear mind. Hijab is to the Muslim girl what an open head is to the Christian girl. |
soonest: You said full shariah should be implemented in NigeriaThere is no infringement whatsoever on others' right with shari'ah. Do you know that even with democracy, the rights of others are even being trampled upon? And it's all because of religion? I will take democracy serious when homosexuals are allowed to marry in Nigeria. |
superstar1: hijab is not infringing on anyone's right, but does the hijab, whether cape or not, makes a uniform to be called a uniform again?Bro, laws are made by men. A uniform doesn't change in meaning even with the hijab. I know your stance about this issue and I'm telling you that you are overly sentimental and cynical. A girl wears a skirt while a boy wears trousers - it is still the same colour so it is a uniform. Now tell me why a hijab with the same colour with the uniform cannot fall in the same category as a beret with the same colour? |
OlaoChi: Are u willing to get initiated into Ifa cult to know where Ifa said all believers must wear Yoruba cloths to school to represent their ancestors?Ifa cult? Are you kidding me? Well, no thanks. I maintain the culture and language but the cult is yours to enjoy. |
soonest: what happens when your right infringes on my rightHow does a lady wearing a cloth covering her own body infringe on your right? Hmmm? |
OlaoChi: See how silly your logic is..You make a silly comment yet you term others' as silly. Where did Obatala make it mandatory for its adherents to wear white always? Did the egungun gods order their worshippers to wear the regalia always? I did not really expect much from a pagan as he is enslaved to his wooden idols. |
Naime: Seun, Maclatunji and Mukina your explanation and flimsy excuses is not accepted... Kindly come and explain what you guys had settled about ISLAM thread on Nairaland. |

What happened to your real moniker?
