Leave other tribes out of this, that some Muslims act stupidly here does not make their actions right. Islam does not forbid Hausa Muslim women from getting married across board but all Muslim women. Nonetheless, some northern Muslim women also marry Christians but they don't make noise about it.

People are already telling you to follow your heart but please do not follow your heart blindly as a Muslim. Follow the sunnah and the right way. For the sake of your children, tell her you cannot accept her back because the issue of religion will always come up and it will always cause you pain.
