It is not the fault of these "seers"; they are simply doing the bidding of the dumb and gullible journalists. And I should also add that it is the expectation of the society that give the journalists the motivation to go about seeking audience from the "seers'. Do we really need a seer to tell us that the ascension of Goodluck to the presidency was divinely ordained? Nope! I don’t think so and for sure Nigerians are not daft as to not be able to figure this out. Nigerians, please wake up and give these soothsayer's the shrug to indicate our indifference to their fortune telling, otherwise they will continue to multiply and in no time they will cloud average Nigerian’s reasoning faculty.

Story Line - Ian Black examines Israeli secret service's long history of clandestine operations and use of false passports. Link-
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2010/feb/16/mossad-operations-false-passports/
Israel's Mossad secret service, more formally known as the Institute for Espionage and Special Tasks, has a long history of carrying out clandestine operations, including several spectacular assassinations. Much remains secret but cases that are documented have involved large teams of agents using false or stolen passports to disguise their Israeli origins.

The Mossad's assassination unit has been known at different times as Caesarea and Kidon (Bayonet). Women agents have often been involved – there was reportedly one in the Dubai killing.

Israel's official silence does not mean that it cannot be heard trumpeting its success. "The intelligence [about Dubai] was reliable and accurate," commented the respected national security specialist Yossi Melman in the newspaper Haaretz earlier this month. "Even though Mabhouh knew Israeli intelligence had him in its sights and took stringent precautions they still managed to get him."

Information released by Dubai shows the professionalism of the suspected assassins and their methods, Melman commented today, citing a novel written by a former Mossad officer, Mishka Ben-David, the plot of which bears a close similarity to the abortive poison attack on the Hamas leader Khaled Misha'al in Jordan in 1997. That case caused huge political embarrassment when two agents using false Canadian passports fled to the Israeli embassy in Amman.

Israel's isolation in the Middle East meant an early reliance on secret operations. The Mossad's victims over the years – some avowed, others not – have included German scientists working on Egypt's rocket programme in the 1960s, Iraqis working on nuclear projects in the 1980s, and, it is assumed, Iranians who are thought to be doing the same today. Mossad agents also carried out the kidnapping of Adolf Eichmann, the fugitive SS officer and architect of Hitler's "final solution," in Argentina in 1960. Eichmann was abducted and smuggled back to Israel, where he was tried and hanged.

Other key killings include that of the PLO military chief Abu Jihad in Tunisia in 1988 and an Islamic Jihad leader in Malta in the mid-1990s. The Mossad was also held responsible for the assassination of the military chief of Lebanon's Hezbollah, Imad Mughniyeh, in Syria two years ago, but Israel has never formally avowed it. Most Mossad operations, like those of most intelligence agencies, have taken place in the shadows only to emerge in a blaze of publicity and political embarassment after the event.

So it was when Golda Meir ordered the agency to hunt down and kill the Palestinians who massacred 11 Israeli athletes at the Munich Olympics in 1972 in the name of the Black September group. Eleven Palestinians were eliminated in a Mossad operation known as Wrath of God in killings in Rome, Cyprus, Paris, Beirut, Athens, Rome and a small town in Norway where an innocent Moroccan waiter was mistaken for Ali Hassan Salameh, the alleged planner of Munich. Salameh was killed by a car bomb in Beirut in 1979.

Motives of revenge and deterrence appear to go hand in hand. "We tried not to do things just by shooting a guy in the streets, that's easy – fairly," said Dave Kimche, a former deputy head of the agency, talking of one assassination carried out by a bomb planted in a telephone. "By putting a bomb in his phone, this was a message that they can be got anywhere, at any time and therefore they have to look out for themselves 24 hours a day."

Mabhouh was apparently targeted because of his role in the kidnapping and killing of two Israeli soldiers in 1989 at the end of the first Palestinian intifada. But some question the sense, if not the morality, of such assassinations. "Every terrorist, no matter how senior, is soon replaced, sometimes by someone even better or more professional," Melman wrote in Haaretz.

The Israelis uses its security outfit - Mossad to commit atrocities in other countries under disguise using all sort of forgeries to carry out their nefarious activities and some people are happy and hailing them for doing an excellent job. Well there is no hiding place for them and their evil security outfit this time around. The wind has blown and their rear end is exposed for all to see. It has been revealed that the cowards used British passports as camouflague to hid their identity so they can secure an easy passage and now the British prime minister has ordered a full scale investigation into the crime. Politics / Re: Buhari/fashola 2011 Presidency by Abeem(m): 9:45pm On Feb 15, 2010
mikeansy:

Even if you conduct elections in heaven, Buhari is simply un-electable.

people are not crazy about Buhari in the South. People will always remember that he was a man who did not allow democracy to flourish and as such has no business asking for people's vote. Buhari as a soldier did not believe in democracy and I personally believe that this business of associating Buhari with discipline and integrity is one of the annoying myths we have in this country.

One person does not a majority make. Have you conducted any poll to butress your argument? How come you are speaking for the generality of the people from Southern Nigerian. You can speak for yourself and not for the entire south. I am also from the south and I don't share your political ideology or sentiment which is borne out of hatred and bitterness for one person.  I look at what people can offer and I make my judgment on that.

Do you know what it means to be a disciplined soldier? Take a look at CDS Paul Dike and CAS Dambazuah who in the last 80 days of power vacuum kept the army under wraps so that democracy can flourish. Don't tell me the corruption under the Shagari/Ekwueme regime is any worse than it is today. Besides Shagari even though undecicive was healthy and yet Buhari will not give democracy a chance.

Want to talk about discipline soldiers? Talk about Rt General Martin Luthar Agwai, Andrew Owoye Azazi etc who oversaw the professionalization of Nigerian Army. Knowing that the Army is better suited defending Nigeria's territorial integrity as opposed to engaging in politics. A benefit of their work is the fact that inspite of our country's vulnerability in the last 80 days. It was just too difficult to execute a coup-de-tat.

I agree that the political uncertainty in the country prior to the announcement of Mr. Goodluck as acting president was a fertile ground for any ambitious [or going by your definition, undisciplined] soldier to cause the rendition of martial music and announce the suspension of the Constitution of the country, but the fact remains that military dictatorship is no longer fashionable the world over coupled with the fact that Nigerians have been less than enthusiastic in calling for a coup d'etat unlike in the days of Buhari. The abuse of power and corruption by the political leadership in the second republic stinks to high heavens so much so that it was Nigerians themselves that called for Soldiers to sack the politicians. This fact was corroborated by the jubilation that followed the enthronement of the military in the dawn of January 1984; people saw the take-over as a welcome development.

So the whole talk about Buhari's discipline is a MYTH. He was  neither disciplined as a soldier, he is still not disciplined as a politician. He has no values, perhaps his only values is his misguided thought that he has a devine right to lead Nigeria again. This over ambition which drove him into ousting a democratically elected Government still drives him to jump from one party to another. Any party is good enough for Buhari so long as he will emerge the flagbearer and we call that discipline.

He has failed as ANPP candidate in 2003
He has failed as ANPP candidate in 2007

In 2007 he flirted with OBJ and PDP thinking he will obtain the PDP ticket. In the same 2007 he attempted an unholy alliance with atiku only if Atiku was willing to step down for him. Buhari is turning into a PERENIAL candidate in Nigerian politics.

There are surely many words to describe people with the above behavious but they surely do not include discipline and integrity. If he has any integrity he will know that after 2 attempts at launching a Presidential comeback he should be backing younger fellows run.

he can not be a Presidential candidate forever.

The above lines have exposed your hatred for the man. Is there any provision in the consititution of the Federal Republic barring anybody from seeking elective office after he has tried and failed a couple of times? I looked at the constitution and such a provision was not found. If anything, that should be left to the elecorate to sort out.
There can never be a come back if there is no set back.  And by the way, failure or defeat shouldn't be an excuse not to try your efforts at achieving your ambition/goal/success: it simply means go back to the drawing board and map out better strategies to succeed next time.  A sage once wrote: "When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound, rebuild those plans, and set sail once more toward your coveted goal. If you give up before your goal has been reached, you are a "quitter." A QUITTER NEVER WINS—-AND—A WINNER NEVER QUITS."
Old boy, let that be your philosophy in life. Never let failure at one try poision your mind about your ability to achieve your set goal. Nature has given man the ability or if you like the power to influence our subconscious mind, and through it gain the cooperation of the infinite intelligence, and as a result we can become what we aspire to become.
Politics / Re: What Will Become Of Soludo? by Abeem(m): 5:03am On Feb 10, 2010
Eziachi:

Sanusi uncovering the decay as you called it was rather circumstantial rather than foresight by design. You forgot that Sanusi is one of the three deputy governors to Soludo, was Soludo running the CBN all by himself?

Ops!!! Not true. Sanusi wasn't one of the three deputy governors to Soludo. He was appointed from the position of MD/CEO of First Bank of Nigeria, plc.  He was the helms man at FBN, plc for a couple months and before then he was Executive Director, Risk Management of the same bank.

The decay in Nigerian banking only came to the fore because of the banking Armageddon in the West especially in the U.S and the U.K. (where they raise facilities through forex and other means)
It becomes difficult for some of these Nigerian banks to keep up the appearance because they can no longer borrow from the ailing foreign banks and the one’s they owe, they have been asked to pay it back in full and when they couldn’t and when foreign banks start petitioning the Nigerian central bank, that is how Sanusi came in and as it happen when he tenure began.
If you say the spill-over of the banking crisis in the West precipitated the crisis in Nigeria banks, you are not far from the truth and you are partially correct.  But that is one angle to it. Even though the crisis in the West dried up funds at the interbank market and credit facilities were short in supply, I do not think that impacted the local banks in Nigeria very much.  Those banks that were adversely affected by the credit crunch were those maintaing correspondence relationship with offshore banks for purposes of letter of credit confirmation and the like. Also, because most of the Nigerian banks were doing well according to the Nigerian Stock Exchange share indices at some time, the foreign banks had invested in the Nigerian banks. Following the credit crunch abroad, the offshore banks decided to offload their investments in the Nigeria banks. The selling of the shares created many problems for the Nigerian banks:- First, following the offloading of the shares, share prices at the Stock Exchange began a free-fall creating a panick selling at the market. Second, because many of the bank had lent to many of their customers to buy their shares and many other companies shares against the security of those shares (margin loans), the shares fell under water (worth less than their actual purchase prices), the banks became over-exposed with inadequate collateral to cover their exposure. As a result, the banks were forced to make large provisions for bad and doubtful debt as most of the debtors simply walk away from their debts.

Like I said before, CBN is the banker of the government and not accounting firm of commercial or merchant banks and they are neither financial ombudsman either. Banks are private/commercial enterprises outside government. In the U.K for instance, it wasn’t the Bank of England or their governor that was blamed but rather the official regulatory bodies like Financial Services Authority (FSA) and it was the same in the U.S, Germany, France, Lithuania or Iceland.
I am of medical background, not a banker, but you don’t need to be an Alan Greenspan to know some of these simple things in banking, unless you haven’t at least bought a share or even a bond. Those accusing Soludo regarding what Sanusi was said to have uncovered are either naive or has no clue as to how a central bank operates or its functions. Let me conclude by telling you that what Sanusi did, had it been in advance world, he could easily had been sued because it’s illegal to some extent, as he had no right to interfere in private business of corporations unless that bank keep a significant public money with it or they failed against the country’s banking laws and in that case, the job of the police.
I don't hold briefs for Soludo, but I will like to hear or see what he has actually done to warrant all the innuendos and accusations, of which non has been shown so far.
This argument is not correct. If the US Federal Reserve Bank Chairman, Ben Bernanke had decided to stay aloof and not interefere in the banking crisis that almost brought American economy to the precipice in September 2008, the price of his inaction and the damage that would have been done to the US economy in particular and the world economy in general is better left to imagination. The intervention of the Fed and the US Treasury have saved many banks and some have been allowed to go under. Suffice to say he would not have coasted home with the approval of his second term by congress the past week after his nomination by his boss, President Obama.  He got 77 votes from the Senators out of a possible 100 counts.
I also need to say that there are a couple of legislations in Nigeria - Banks and Other Financial Institution Act of 1991 plus the Failed Banks (Recovery of Debts) And Financial Malpractices in Banks Act of 1994 which gives Sanusi power as CBN governor to intervene to check abuses in banks. This is necessary to protect depositors interest and sanitize the banking sector in order to put the economy on a sound footing. The financial intermediation roles the banks plays in an economy is too important to leave it to the cruel hands of thieves to manipulate. Government regulation is of absolute necessity.

First you disparaged Obama’s victory as a fluke (do you know what a fluke is?), then you went on to give the very cogent reasons for his election victory. What is your bearing?

The use of that word "fluke" was deliberate. The threat and odds against Obama's presidency coming from the white folks who are predominantly Republicans are far greater than November 2008 when he was elected and are becoming more daunting. A "third" party - the so-called Tea party have since emerged and the members are in cahoot with the Republicans so much so that they are totally against every of Obama's legislative ideas - The heathcare bill has derailed, the climatic bill is in the cooler etc. - these are major legislations that will make or mar Obama's presidency. The  Republicans are united in opposition and none of their members in Congress have voted in favor of any legislative bill that has Obama's imprimatur. You don't know this because you are not privy to the information that I have given above, so you can be excused. The gang up against Obama recently led to the Democrats losing the majority in the Senate - and what is more disturbing is the loss of the seat of the late Ted Kennedy of Massachussetts to a Republican. The last time a  Republican represented the State in Congress was in 1972.
Politics / Re: ". .good For The Goose Is Good For. ."|fed. Character, let's Have State Character by Abeem(m): 2:49am On Feb 07, 2010
I think you are comparing apples with oranges. Obama's victory in the US is a fluke and much more complicated than the way you presented it, and even then, it can only happen in an advanced democracy. Replicating the feat in a democracy such as ours will not happen overnight, if it ever happens at all. US democracy has come a long way - since 1776 when the country gained independence. Nigeria democracy is still in its infancy, and like a toddler learning to ride a bike or walk, he/she will experience falls in fits and starts until he/she gains perfection.

The way out or if you like the blueprint for the success of the minority at the polls is what I had canvassed in my previous post i.e. total mobilization for the candidate of their ethnic stock. Anything short of that will not yield fruition. Obama's success at the US polls is a combination of several factors - intelligence, power of oration, unprecedented grassroots and community organizing using youths and volunteers to mobilize voters (your truly also volunteered to campaign for him), an unrivalled money raising machine using information and telecommunication technology, the need to break away from the lack-luster years of the Bush presidency and his war-mongering cohorts aka military-industrial complex, and the gift that kept on giving, the American economy that was on the brink of catastrophe. American electorates are sophisticated and know when they need to change a government and unlike Nigeria, their vote does COUNT. And by the way, you are doing a great disservice to the electoral victory of Obama by narrowing the success or seeing his victory from the prism of minority lens. He doesn't see it that way and he is wont to correct pundits who say it is a victory for the minority. No, he's always quick to point out: We campaigned on the slogan of CHANGE, and YES WE CAN.
Politics / Re: ". .good For The Goose Is Good For. ."|fed. Character, let's Have State Character by Abeem(m): 1:26am On Feb 07, 2010
Okay, we know you are talking about the Igbos and their numerical strength in other States. Since we practice representative democracy, do you have facts to suggest that the Igbos have used their numerical strength to advantage in the electoral process? Do you have it on good authority that the Igbos have mobilized themselves towards block voting for the particular candidate of their choice that will fight for their rights? Isn't the pre-occupation of these people (Igbos) when they foray into other States, primarily commerce?

The problem with us (from the third world) is that we just assume things will work out in our favor instead of planning and coming up with the right strategies to execute our plans.  If we fail to plan, then we'll plan to fail.  Don't blame the majority for the political woes of the minority.  If the minority want to be represented and heard, they need to mobilize to support a candidate within their ranks that will represent and fight for their rights.  That is the way it goes in politics.

JosBoy4Lif:

Please explain the bold part of your statement?

Their are LGA's in the far North in which Hausa/Fulani are the minority, but it would be impossible to elect a non-indigine there also.
All I am asking for is that we provide equality on both sides. Unlike you I have proffered solutions to the everlasting peace in Nigeria.

1) Get rid of state of Origin
2) Get rid of rotational representation
3) Get rid of government support of Hajj/Pilgrimage
4) Get rid of support of traditional rulers/churches/mosques
5) Embrace secularism and true democracy
6) Get rid of sharia (just as it is non-existent in Turkey on of the most modern Muslim nations)

I have some reservations about your statement concerning people of different ethnic stocks becoming the governor or representatives of the people of another State that is different from their origin.  Yes, it is impossible but not for reasons adduced by you. The reasons it will be difficult is because an immigrant, say an Igbo man who is a minority in Lagos State, will not be able to secure the votes on account of his minority in a free and fair election to contest to the State House in Alausa. In the same token, it would be ridiculous and wishful thinking for a Yorubaman to want to occupy the State House in Awka.  Of course, if the Igbos have the numerical strength, they can try their luck but the simple fact is that they do not have the votes.
In the conflagration in Jos, it would seem that the Hausa/Fulani have multiplied and they are in the majority hence the campaign for their extermination.

On your recommendations:
You cannot get rid of State of Origin unless you want to introduce chaos. Some moneybags will come from nowhere and cause disarray and confusion if you allow just anybody from anywhere to come to a State of their choice to contest elections. A person that is interested in public office must register and live in the State of his choice at least 6 months prior to declaring his intention. This is what obtains in the US. [Hilary Clinton had to move to New York for her to be able to contest election as Senator before her husband left the White House. The Clintons contested elections to the White House from Arkansas]. Herbert Walker Bush, the father of George W. Bush planted his kids all over the country: GW was governor of Texas before contesting election to the White House. Jeb Bush was a one-time governor of Florida.  State of Origin cannot be dispensed with completely, it only need to be structured. To be candid with you, I am not sure this is a panacea for the malady and confusion we have at hand.

Rotational Representation is bad because it stifles competition, breeds political mediocrity [Umaru Yaradua?] and is antithesis to democracy.  When you practice rotational representation, some section of the population is disenfranchised so you cannot be said to be practicing democracy. Those who advocated it offered it as an alternative to ensure that the minority are given the opportunity to aspire to political office. Given the Nigerian experience so far, it might seem to be illusory. You have my vote on this.

Getting rid of support for traditional rulers/churches/mosques.  I do not understand the role the traditional rulers play in our body politics other than being a pipe drain of our scarce resources - The constitutional conference engineered by Abacha gave them 5% of the budget votes which by any means is way too much.  Somebody compared their relevance to the Monarch in the UK and says they are part of our cultural heritage. I agree but the problem is that we have one too many in Nigeria.  Secularity is enshrined in the constitution and the support for Churches and Mosques by the leaders is in flagrant disregard of the constitution they swore to uphold.  It is good news that Nigerians is fast becoming a litigious society and this cannot continue for too long.

Politics is a game of numbers; and the majority holds the ace. I am assuming  from your postings that the Hausa/Fulanis want to exert control politically, and it can only be possible if they are have the numbers (majority) to claim victory in any election. If they are minority, that will not be possible.
If today’s Hausa/Fulanis who are resident in the land of the Beroms and Angas are in the majority (?), and they were born there (on account of migration of their ancestors to the area to work in the mine field), you cannot resort to extermination to reduce their majority because you regard them as “Settlers” and you don’t like their religion. They are free born of Plateau State and they have inalienable rights just like any other natives of the State. No government has the right to deny them the right as citizens of the State including the right to executive office.
Your argument is puerile, barbaric and uncivilized and flies in the face of logic. Governor Jang will certainly have his day in court. He will be tried like fellow criminals like Milosevic and other war criminals.

Pindar G Msheila happens to be an exception to the rule or in the language of the Statisticians, an outlier which you find occupying the tail of the bell curve.  As a Christian, he painted a horrid picture of the internecine conflict carried out by the Berom and the Angas people of Plateau State with the underwriting of expenses and tacit approval of Jang. Their goal was to exterminate the Hausa/Fulanis from the area.

The history of violence between the "Indigenes" and the "Settlers" dates back to the 1940s, precisely 1945. The Berom and their counterpart in crime Angas, are scum-of-the-earth people who simply loath the idea of peaceful co-existence with other tribes. Religion may have given them added impetus to continue their notoriety in murdering innocent souls with the tacit backing of the prejudiced and biased occupant at the State House in Jos.
The Jos killings have been on the radar for too long. During the second coming of OBJ in his second term, the conflict reared its ugly head. In 2008, the conflagration was repeated. The recent carnage makes it three times in a spate of five or six years. Those who have a warped sense of human feelings and harbouring stereotypical bias against a set of people because of their creed will not be moved, no matter the extent of destruction of lives and properties. The arc of the moral universe is long but it is bent towards justice. The time for justice is now. The carnage and wanton destruction of lives and properties must be halted. This can only occur if the criminals on both sides are brought to book.
Politics / Re: Lawmakers Want Plateau Indigenes To Leave Bauchi by Abeem(m): 4:30am On Jan 30, 2010
The Bauchi people are correct to ask the people of Plateau to leave since those murderers of Angas and Berom stock are not interested in living peacefully with Nigerians from other part of the country. The Christian extremists have been blaming the crisis on Islamic fundamentalist but there is another dimension to the conflict which the biased Christian media have not exposed. The internecine war has its root cause in the settlers and indigenes dichotomy. The Angas and Berom regarded themselves as indigenes, son of the soil, who should be entitled to all the juicy political appointments while the settlers - Hausa or others should play less dominant role in the politics of the state.  Politics has played a major role in the conflagration.
I read it in the Tribune Newspapers that Alao Akala, the Oyo State governor, has asked the people of Oyo State to come back home. Now Bauchi has joined the fray. If other states follow the stance of Oyo and Bauchi States, the problem may degenerate to civil strife across the country. And where is the president in all these to provide leadership? He has gone AWOL and is nowhere to be found.
Politics / Re: Muslims Call On Allah To Stop Female Governorship In Kwara by Abeem(m): 2:41am On Jan 29, 2010
It is asinine to petition God with prayers like this. But the problem is more complicated than the subordination of the rights of women to rule the State. I see the problem with the jesters who went public with this ridiculous prayer petition/request as motivated by the need to stop Dr. Saraki (father of the governor) at all cost from imposing his daughter on the people and they are merely using religion as a bait to win the support of the of people of Kwara since a large number of the population are devout Muslims.
Saraki is as greedy as they come. He has Kwara State firmly in his grips. He has been the dominant force in Kwara politics since the Second Republic when he was the Senate leader under the auspices of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN).  His words are law in Kwara and that probably has to do with the sloth and indolence of some of the people who depends on him for their economic survival.
Thus the subservience of the majority of the people is largely responsible for the feat he has been able to pull through by producing the past governors of the State - Late Mohammed Lawal who preceded Bukola, and after he (Lawal) fell out of favor with him, he nominated his son to be Governor (for two terms).  This is aside from countless others that got “elected” to office through association with the godfather of Kwara Politics, including his daughter Gbemi, first as a rep and currently, as a Sin-a-tor.  As if that is not enough, he is now positioning Gbemi to become governor since Bunmi, the governor is statute barred from contesting again.  Many will recall during the last Muslim Ramadan (in August/September last year) that he went to Mecca with a retinue of his followers reportedly to pray to God to enable him chose who will succeed the incumbent governor but the followers of Kwara politics including myself believe he has already made up his mind as to who the next governor is going to be.
From the foregoing, it is clear that his political rivals are being disingenuous by using Islam as a convenient scapegoat to prevent his anointed (daughter Gbemi) from becoming governor.  It is however not a clever way of saying enough is enough. They need to be courageous enough to stand up and face the godfather that this world is not created for him alone.

Third and final posting:
Man's nature has not changed in this respect. The "hunter" of today brings home no skins of wild animals, but he indicates his desire for her favor by supplying fine clothes, motor cars, and wealth. Man has the same desire to please woman that he had before the dawn of civilization. The only thing that has changed, is his method of pleasing. Men who accumulate large fortunes, and attain to great heights of power and fame, do so, mainly, to satisfy their desire to please women.
Take women out of their lives, and great wealth would be useless to most men. It is this inherent desire of man to please woman, which gives woman the power to make or break a man. The woman who understands man's nature and tactfully caters to it, need have no fear of competition from other women. Men may be "giants" with indomitable will-power when dealing with other men, but they are easily
managed by the women of their choice. Most men will not admit that they are easily influenced by the women they prefer, because it is in the nature of the male to want to be recognized as the stronger of the species. Moreover, the intelligent woman recognizes this "manly trait" and very wisely makes no issue of it.
Some men know that they are being influenced by the women of their choice—their wives, sweethearts, mothers or sisters—but they tactfully
refrain from rebelling against the influence because they are intelligent enough to know that NO MAN IS HAPPY OR COMPLETE WITHOUT
THE MODIFYING INFLUENCE OF THE RIGHT WOMAN. The man who does not recognize this important truth deprives himself of the power which
has done more to help men achieve success than all other forces combined.
Hope this helps.

Second excerpt:
What a different story is this, than those usually associated with the emotion of sex. Here is an interpretation of the emotion which lifts it out of the commonplace, and makes of it potter's clay in the hands of God, from which He fashions all that is beautiful and inspiring. It is an interpretation which would, when properly understood, bring harmony out of the chaos which exists in too many marriages. The disharmonies often expressed in the form of nagging, may usually be traced to lack of knowledge on the subject of sex. Where love, romance and the proper understanding of the emotion and function of sex abide, there is no disharmony between married people.
Fortunate is the husband whose wife understands the true relationship between the emotions of love, sex, and romance. When motivated by this
holy triumvirate, no form of labor is burdensome, because even the most lowly form of effort takes on the nature of a labor of love.
It is a very old saying that "a man's wife may either make him or break him," but the reason is not always understood. The "making" and "breaking" is the result of the wife's understanding, or lack of understanding of the emotions of love, sex, and romance.
Despite the fact that men are polygamous, by the very nature of their biological inheritance, it is true that no woman has as great an influence on a
man as his wife, unless he is married to a woman totally unsuited to his nature. If a woman permits her husband to lose interest in her, and become
more interested in other women, it is usually because of her ignorance, or indifference toward the subjects of sex, love, and romance. This statement presupposes, of course, that genuine love once existed between a man and his wife. The facts are equally applicable to a man who permits his wife's interest in him to die.

I don't believe in the bible and I am not going to bother you looking for quotations to support the important question you raised. However, I am going to leave you with the following exerpt from a book that I believe is the answer to the question. I leave you to make a judgment call as to whether you want to dismiss the intelligent write-up or believe in the rote application of what some religious wiseacre wrote more than a millelium years ago that might not bring succour to the problem.
I am going to post the excerpts in bits so as not to overwhelm you. Ist excerpt:
Love is, without question, life's greatest experience. It brings one into communion with Infinite Intelligence. When mixed with the emotions of romance and sex, it may lead one far up the ladder of creative effort. The emotions of love, sex, and romance, are sides of the eternal triangle of achievement-building genius. Nature creates genii through no other force. Love is an emotion with many sides, shades, and colors. The love which one feels for parents, or children is quite different from that which one feels for one's sweetheart. The one is mixed with the emotion of sex, while the other is not.
The love which one feels in true friendship is not the same as that felt for one's sweetheart, parents, or children, but it, too, is a form of love.
Then, there is the emotion of love for things inanimate, such as the love of Nature's handiwork. But the most intense and burning of all these various
kinds of love, is that experienced in the blending of the emotions of love and sex. Marriages, not blessed with the eternal affinity of love, properly
balanced and proportioned, with sex, cannot be happy ones— and seldom endure. Love, alone, will not bring happiness in marriage, nor will sex alone.
When these two beautiful emotions are blended, marriage may bring about a state of mind, closest to the spiritual that one may ever know on this earthly plane. When the emotion of romance is added to those of love and sex, the obstructions between the finite mind of man and Infinite Intelligence are removed.
Then a genius has been born!
Religion / Action Like This Breeds Terrorism: What Say You? by Abeem(m): 7:41am On Jan 24, 2010
The crusaders are at it again but this time they are going about it in a dumb, unintelligent way. Cause and effect are like Siamese twins, co-joined and inseparable so that when there is an action, a reaction is for sure bound to follow. Is it smart for a country that is fighting terrorism to willfully provoke the anger of Muslims by allowing a Military contractor to engrave bible verses on the scope of the guns they gave to Iraqis and Afghans to train their forces? You judge for yourselves. Well if you don’t believe me, a US military contractor actually etched Jon 8:12 (meaning John Chapter 8 verse 12) and 2CON 4:6 (i.e. Second Corinthians chapter 4 verse 6) on the scope of guns but after protests by some well-meaning smart people who are not blinded by religious sentiments, good counsel have been allowed to prevail. The verses will now be cleaned but I am not sure the wounded conscience of those Muslims who have learnt about this dumb move by the modern day crusaders will be healed.
